She is such a good singer, she does not need that or any other artificial help. However, when they heard her singing it live without all those effects they changed their minds. This song hits very hard when they play it live. BABYMETAL are a live performance act, they are always at their best singing and performing live. The studio recordings (especially from the first two or three albums) tended to over process and compress the vocals unnecessarily. BxMxC is an unusual song for a first listen to BABYMETAL. All of their songs are different to each other, but this one is even more different to the rest as it was their first real effort at rapping. You said you don't like metal I think. I don't know your musical preferences, but I am sure there will be BABYMETAL songs you will love as they mix and blend so many different musical styles and genres with the metal and they do it so well every time. Also BABYMETAL are unlike anything else you will have seen or heard. They are not the stereotypical metal band who growl and scream and who try to appear angry or evil or depressed. They brought melody and clear, beautiful vocals back to metal along with a positive and happy attitude. BABYMETAL are original and unique. They started in 2010 fusing metal instrumentals with JPop hooks, melodies and aesthetics including choreographed dance - but not as you may know it from pop acts. Their choreo is interpretive, helping us non-Japanese speakers with translating the meaning of a song or lyric, but most importantly they use it to involve and include the audience, letting everybody know when to jump, chant, pump their fists and so on. They have gone on to mix and blend many more musical styles and genres with the metal. They have songs in virtually every metal genre, but mixed with ska, pop, folk, Indian/Bollywood, Middle Eastern, EDM, polka, dub step and more. They will surprise you every time. BABYMETAL are Su-metal (lead vocalist), Moametal and Momometal (in charge of backing vocals, harmonies and mainly hyping and involving the crowd with their choreo). The original third member Yuimetal last performed in October 2017 and was absent for 12 months for undisclosed health reasons until she announced she was still not fully recovered and would be leaving the band. Su and Moa continued as a duo for 4-5 years supported by 3 dancers who would take turns in the third spot. This song and video was recorded in this period which explains why there were just the two of them in it. From about March 2020 only one of those dancers remained and finally that dancer - now known as Momometal - was revealed as the new official third member (and finally got a microphone) on 1st April 2023. They are supported in all live shows by the Kami Band (long story, I'll try to keep it short - there are effectively two Kami Bands - East and West). East Kamis are the best Japanese session musicians you could hope to find and supported BABYMETAL since 2012 (they were phased in gradually over about 18 months playing a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows and became the full time support from March 2014) until their last appearance (to date) in January 2023. West Kamis are American musicians who first appeared in 2019 to play initially in the lengthier foreign tours and they have been ever present since April 2023. They are truly special live, no matter how much anyone says it when you experience them live the first time it is still stunning. I first saw them about ten years ago from a viral video (which was excellent, but not really my thing so I didn't check out more). Then a couple of years ago "Road of Resistance, Live in Japan (official)" popped up on my feed, I thought why not see what they are like in something else, and ten minutes later I was a permanent lifelong fan. BUT then, I listened to the live performance from the Legend Metal Galaxy live album and I had to change my mind. Because Su-metal kills it live, the Kami Band sounds brutally heavy and the choreo is absolutely badass. Lesson learned! "BxMxC" probably stands for BABYMETAL Metal Cypher but we prefer Bring Moa Chicken. Because she loves food and she always makes sure everyone knows. 😁 Good catch with the "Tenkaichi Metaru Budokai" being a Dragon Ball reference. 👍 You can check out the live version from Legend-MM (2024) on their official channel. Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Su-Metal is singing about some established style which used to be revolutionary and literally "stylish" but has turned already obsolete like an "Illusion of Rusted Chain" (last phrase of Su's rapping). Lyrics are suggesting breakthrough in or challenge to the status-quo (including the status of BM itself). When I heard this song in CD for the first time, I was skeptical that this challenging song would be played live on stage. But they did it flawlessly with clear vocal and sharp choreo. I witnessed it Day-7 in 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN concert in 2021 (and many times thereafter). I, a poor skeptic, had to beg our Queen & Princesses for their forgiveness. 🥶

Su-Metal is singing everything live, with a lot more voice variation. Check the world tour live, that's one of my favorites, the song has evolved quite a bit since that album version, which had a bit too many effects..
The most recent live video of BxMxC, from the World Tour - Legend MM show, has a lot of backtrack use with effects. It's the most blatant backtrack use they've ever done for any song at any live performance. All older live performances of BxMxC are however fine. I hope it was a one-off thing...

You should always react to live performances. BabyMetal is a live band. Their elaborate staging, lights etc are unmatched. Also, their fans, known collectively as "The One" are an integral part of their live performances, due to their own 'choreography' for each song. Their live band, the Kami band is unbelievably great. They are made up of 4 American musicians.

It is rather surprising first introduction to Babymetal since it is not their usual sound. Babymetal love to mix genres, and this is them mixing Metal and Trap music. Babymetal is also mostly known for their live performance. So maybe you can check that out to make a comparison, and maybe you'll like the live version better.

Nice reaction.. Babymetal is doing a much nicer sounding live version of this song at this point, without the upwards slide effect overuse. Su-Metal is singing everything live, with a lot more voice variation. Check the world tour live, that's one of my favorites, the song has evolved quite a bit since that album version, which had a bit too many effects..
The most recent live video of BxMxC, from the World Tour - Legend MM show, has a lot of backtrack use with effects. It's the most blatant backtrack use they've ever done for any song at any live performance. All older live performances of BxMxC are however fine. I hope it was a one-off thing...

Well, you’ve opened a can of worms!
BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer.
BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums with over fifty songs, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art.
I try to urge people new to BABYMETAL to start from BABYMETAL's beginning and see how they have progressed to now - see where they’ve been before getting caught up in where they are - and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" ( ruclips.net/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/видео.htmlsi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic ) and "Iine!" I'm sure you will find both very entertaining, and it is my opinion that, until you’ve seen their earlier work, you haven't really experienced BABYMETAL.

You should always react to live performances.
BabyMetal is a live band.
Their elaborate staging, lights etc are unmatched. Also, their fans, known collectively as "The One" are an integral part of their live performances, due to their own 'choreography' for each song.
Their live band, the Kami band is unbelievably great. They are made up of 4 American musicians.
Im not a big fan of metal but Babymetal is my favorite band lol they different.

This is only 1 song, every songs is different. This is rap, there are heavy metal, ballad, rock, cute/Kawaii, dark, etc. MV are good so you get the idea, then go live for an experience like you never had!
Especially this song lives from the live. There Su goes as far acappella ad possible. And to.make other rappers futipus, for her zhis is her easiest Song. She just has to find jet floe
