I hate loose rocks like this on inclines with no clear path! Had something similar (but probably not quite as steep) on the last 1.5 km to the Zugspitze in Germany. I hated it and thought I would slide back down the mountain. Made it up in the end, but would not have made it if it was any steeper or longer and if I wasn't surrounded by other hikers that day (I'm also a solo hiker but this mountain is tourist trap). I must have been the slowest beetle on the entire damn mountain, crawling up the mountainside on all fours. Going back down by foot was not an option with my heavy pack on my back unless I wanted to break my neck, so the only way was up. And this mountain looks way scarier! Mad respect to you for getting this far and knowing your limits.

Look below often and make sure you are OK reversing that climb. If you push your limits a bit every time you will be amazed how the same spots that made you turn around previously (chicken) are no longer noticeable. Fear is a good thing: you go build some more muscles and stamina and try again. Remember: you have nothing to prove. The name of the game is progress...every year you will come back to the same mountain and feel like a faster and more powerful hiker, I like to do these specific comparisons.
I try to run at 6 to 8 kfeet and that seems to help... with the "dead hangs" and the pull ups.
I always try and estimate the energy left and aim to still be near 50% of my reserves when back down to camp ( ie able to do it all again when back down). But I know I often "push it".
I am not interested in hiking under the rain if I can avoid it. I have no issue turning around if any doubt...carry extra layers). Starting in a T shirt and ending in 2 more layers plus a puffy and a rain poncho... rain all the way down from 11 to 8.500 feet was yesterday in the Northern Rockies😂. Today: typing this in my van under heavy rain and hail.
Always testing your shoes VERY carefully: I have zero tolerance for misteps or slipping...in my mind they are a sign of lack of attention or being tired. Hiking is a "brain game". You should evaluate precisely where you place your feet and with how much kinetic energy with near 100% accuracy. Try and leave nothing to chance.
I am in my 70s and I think there is no better exercize to fight aging😂
