My first travel card! The benefits worked out for me being based in San Diego, lovely addition for a frequent domestic traveler with a boatload of UR points
I have the reserve, ink unlimited, and freedom flex. That’s my trifecta for points. I love the lounge (I’m in nyc).. I booked an all inclusive in cancun and got 10x.. same price as it would’ve been on Expedia where I also would’ve gotten (3x) I’m going to get the gold card and blue business plus to get Amex points but not the platinum.. that’s my credit card strategy moving forward
Always great content! I'm considering upgrading the CSP to the CSR this year. The point boost alone increases my base redemption by about $800, well over both the annual fee AND especially the effective annual fee.
If I was under Chase 5/24 I'd consider it, I'm LMAO/24 and got approved for the Amex Platinum I think the superior option gave me the approval and will serve me well for the long term. Chase has excellent cards and the Sapphire Reserve is no slouch, but there are better premium travel cards imo depending on your profile status.
I wish I could get more value out of this card but I just can't. Other than the travel credit, I do not get much more out of it beyond what I can get from the Cap1 VX. I'd rather just transfer to Hyatt and get more than 1.5ccp anyway, so that benefit isn't all that special either. It feels like a big city card with all the instacart, doordash, lyft partner benefits. I use zero of those. If it works for you and you use the partner benefits, it can be a great card! If not, it's an EAF of $250.

We used your referral for the Chase Sapphire Preferred. ❤ Keep up the good work Matt
Thank you so much!

Thank you! The point boost is certainly a reason to consider upgrading!!

Would the $300 credit have to be used in one transaction? Or would it be spread across multiple transactions?
Spread across multiple transactions or in one shot.

If this card had one more credit to help offset the annual fee, I think it would really help. You're right the EAF of only $250 is just to much
Plat > CSR
No, sock drawer card.
Not if you travel overseas often. Plat can’t be used in many places.
