I got this phone and I have gone from "who games on their phone?" to "yeah I put in about a solid 8hrs of mobile gaming a week". It really did make playing games better.
I also got the controller so it makes playing Xbox pass and steam games over wifi a thing. Who needs a switch or steam deck when this can do both.
Totally agree! It's an amazing gaming phone for much less than the ROG phone
I absolutely love this. I don't need selfies and the full view display without notch with those slim bezels are a dream 😌
The steam deck would be much better at playing pc games.
Thank you for this review. I appreciate you looking at it objectively, i too was wondering about that fan collecting pollen and hair and whatever. I'd have to put some kind of screen on the intake or maybe disable it in favor of a peltier plate cooler that are all over amazon that I could jury-rig into a case. One question; What are those silver computers/boxes on your... left behind you when you film that look like beefy mac minis? Have a great day!

That phone is so clean. Making me second think about my Galaxy 24 ultra.
The only problem with this phone is the selfie camera, although it is very cool to see a in display camera, it still needs development so it doesnt look so blurry.
Totally agree. This is a gimmick that should be phased out
The selfie camera isn't the deal breaker for me because I'm not a hug selfie person, amd the only time I take them is when my wife wants me to take one with me, usually om her phone 🤷🏾♂️
The issue, for me, with this phone is that there's no official IP rating. Which doesn't give me a lot of confidence that it won't get easily messed up via dust ir water somehow.

Yo can you help me out I just went to AT&T to put the phone on my plan and they telling me it not compatible with them but on the redmagic website it says it is. Did you have this problem?

I had the same issue but it is a way to override it. I had to bc I was piss r at first bc they had said it was compatible with at&t and others. T-Mobile seems like the only company that won't give any issues
It was this or the nubia, but since i'm mostly going out of aesthetic, i like that this phone doesn't have any camera bumps, but i also like that the nubia doesn't have a back that makes it look like a gaming monitor.

is it the fans a real concern ? if yes, then which phone could be better or good as red magic 9 pro ? i saw some ppl talking about the fans as a future issue and im planning to keep my new phone for at least 4y or 5y, ty for the video ^^ (also i dont have problems without the wireless charging or the front camera)
you dont even need to use the fan unless you max out games.
I bought this phone as well. Hasn’t arrived yet but I’m planning to cover the air vents with those dust cover stickers (for phone speakers) and just use an external fan if I need to.

Bro I just bought a Nubia red Magic 9 pro any ideas why it doesn't reach 120 hz while scrolling?
I mean i dont feel the 120 hz compare to my other smartphone
you need to manualy set the creen to run at 120 also the app might not support it
That's why and what variable refresh rate is and means, obviously your other device either uses it differently or not at all

2 very different phones. Most people will tell you iPhone and I probably agree. Depends if you're looking for an Android or an iPhone, what you intend to use the phone for the most, and your budget.

Knowing its advertised as a "phone," what was the call quality? If there is any? This is the only question that I find difficult to find an answer online. I have an iphoneXR for many years and want something different and new to consider instead of apple products.
No issues with call quality on tmobile. Crystal clear like any other phone.

It doesn't work with all carriers. I have at&t and it wasn't compatible. I had to kinda hack it so i could have service.
Any game-pads you recommend?
I recommend the gamepad shown in the video as it's the most compatible. Other than that, backbone seems to be the best one
Most people will never know what this device is or like because its not available with any plans with a payment option (most people don't outright purchase their device anymore, they make payments and think they're better for it when they don't realize they are still literally paying for it) therefore will never experience a device like this, I got it about 4 months ago and the one weakness in my opinion with this device is the audio, yes its great for gaming, but that's it, music it reverts back to standard audio just like any other device except for one device in which I've moved onto and that would be the MoonDrop MIAD 01, greatest audio phone/DAP/DAC/Dual DAC ever created to this point in smartphone world and its not even close, maybe the LG V60 would be the next closest as it relates to audio but we all know LG no longer makes or supports smartphones anymore, so now its back to companies like this to bring such an amazing phone, yes I'm switching from a SD 8 Gen 3 to a Mediatek 7500, butbthe audio is so amzingly awesome that its definitely worth the compromise

MetroPCS is on the T-Mobile network which is GSM, so it should work fine.

Yeah it should work on any GSM network: T-Mobile, mint mobile, metro, etc.
I open reddit and people says the phone have alot pf issues and bugs ,and rate drop
And overheating and screen not great , and sound not good . And issues in wifi and call disconnected ,and finally no updates for global .and Chinese better . So the question i want to buy a phone like for next 4 years ,should i buy RM9PLUS 24 RAM , OR RM9 PRO white edition , or rog 8 pro .or xiaomi 14 ultra , look the red magic here not cheap . I will paid like 200 dollars plus at less , so not about the prices about what i should buy and it will make me happy i will use phone alot . Thank you any tips

One thing that's annoying is the volte calling. I can't figure out how to turn that option off
My only thing right now is I can't find a provider that this phone works with. Verizon says they don't support it, ATT says they don't... what network can this connect to?
Also, I've had phones with wireless charging for years, and have only used that function about twice :/ A quick plug in for 15 minutes on all those phones got all well above 40% charge when I needed it. And the "blurry" selfie cam is easily corrected with Google Photos picture editing auto tools.

Verizon uses CDMA network, which is not compatible with many chinese phones. GSM networks like T-mobile are compatible. I had no issues at all with T-mobile, even on 5G.
That's true, you can use the unblur tool with google photos. I still feel it's a very unnecessary workaround for a gimmick, and not the same as just having a regular selfie camera.

@@DanielsTechStudio That's where my confusion comes in. PC Mag says Verizon does, phone specs says they support CDMA, etc. But you're saying you used it on T-Mobile with no issues? That's encouraging.
That is weird. Maybe it depends on the region. Someone else in the comments also used this on T-Mobile with no issue. I'm in southern California if that helps at all

For gaming phones I always recommend t-mobile, I've never had problems with them and I've used them with red magic and rog
If this had wireless charging and supported us bands it would be a slam dunk.
You can buy a universal external wireless charger that fits in the phone case, and this does work on all GSM networks (T-Mobile)
Why do u need slow wireless charging when this phone can give you 20% battery refill in 5min lol

ROG phone will be the better gaming phone. Redmagic is the best for the price, which is around 300 bucks less than the ROG. Check specs on both to make sure tho before you buy

Thr rog phone really isn't worth the extra 300 dollars imo. The red magic isn't gonna struggle with any mobile game. I've ran both wzm and codm and have had zero issues

As far as I am aware this phone does not support a lot of 5g bandwidth here in the USA so if you want 5g then you will experience less connectivity when it comes to that in the USA.
Depends on the bands needed. I have this phone on T-Mobile and I get the same 5G coverage as I would with my older galaxy phone.
I didn't have any issues with 5G at all in my testing on T-Mobile
@@DanielsTechStudio that's cool. There was a bunch of online forums stating otherwise. If this is true I will probably be grabbing it instead of my current phone.
Nice. My only recommendation is check the coverage map of whatever service you're using (verizon, tmobile, etc) to make sure you're in their 5G service area.
Not sure why others have had issues. Another viewer in this thread says he didn't have issues either.

I'm currently using Poco X3 pro and it's perfect thing I ever bought with money but from past 1.2 month it's been restarting all by it self I try to find reason on Reddit but I only thing I found out I was not alone those who bought same phone with me started facing the same damn problem some said their phone is now completely dead/Gone no one knows the exact reason why it happens I think it's company monopoly they do it so we buy their new phones giving them business I maybe wrong but whatever
So I'm thinking of buying 9pro
If someone is being using this regularly since it's launch doing heavy extremely heavy and multitasking Onit please tell me the situation of the mobile I won't be able to bare if something similar happen to 9pro after like 2 years or so
Sorry you're having so much trouble with your Poco phone. The phone hasn't been out long enough for anyone to comment on reliability. I'd take a look into reddit forums on this phone and see what you find.
My friend who has this phone hasn't run into any issues yet and he's had it since it came out.
i have the same exact phone, went to the third party store and they said common issue is the motherboard. planning on interest on redmagic 9spro but im scared it would be the same. Keeping on hold for a moment.

If you taking selfies you are not gaming, wireless charging on a gaming phone, I want to see someone wireless charge this phone while gaming, its a gaming phone, it works as a phone it works for gaming, if you want to take a picture buy a camera.
