Chris, loved the review. Keep up the good work. It is refreshing to see phones that are not Apple or Samsung. I am using the Nubia Z60 Ultra Dragon Edition. It is the Ultra camera phone from nubia's product line. I hear they have re-released the z60 ultra with the faster Snapdragon chip used in the red magic you just reviewed. It would be interesting to compare a z60 ultra to the red magic gaming phone in this video. My understanding is that they are the two most powerful phones available with up to a terabyte of storage and 24 gig of memory, plus another 8 of virtual memory. In case you are wondering I find the z60 Ultra cameras to be exceptional. Battery life is always two days or more. The only downside is the learning curve with the Chinese software which defaults to turning off a lot of things that are normally on in western phones. I must say I do agree with the Chinese philosophy of defaulting to having features turned off because that makes it much easier to only turn on the things that you want. This is most noticeable with the need to explicitly tell apps not to be switched off in the background if you want to receive their notifications.

I would speculate evening out the temps, Redmagic is 4700 lowest loop score and a good normal phone with passive cooling would be 3500 probably. That's correct they really push the thermals in the Rise mode to get some impressive scores but if other phones allowed themselves to get very hot to the touch the would be able to hold much higher stability for long but eventually the SD8Gen3 gets super hot without the fan. Yes but what I was referring to (sorry it wasn't clear) is there is no an actual desktop mode like DEX or Honor/Huawei and Motorola do. Using it like a PC.
Is there not software on the phone's camera application that will darken / turn off the OLED pixels in front of the selfie camera? That's one of the features of OLED technology, that when it's black it's fully turned off. I'm surprised that it doesn't reduce the softening and loss of visual depth when using the sub-screen selfie camera.
On your previous review for the redmagic 9 pro, the stablity was 97.8. The redmagic 9s pro is overclocked, thus generating more heat and getting a lower stability of 86.5 in the video. Só the only phone on the market without a selfie hole should have it? You don't think of other people?
This is it if you want the SD8Gen3.
My concern is that pocket lint will get caught in the fan over time amd it wont be easy to clean.
That might be an issue but it would take years I think unless you run it with the fan on in your pocket.
It gets rather quickly into the fan but you can suck it out with a small vacuum cleaner or get stickers.
Price please?
$689 base model
Does it have wireless charging?
No
Hot during long sesions which phone is cooler than this?
Most passively cooled phones are a lot cooler because they are throttled like crazy and performance is half of this phone. If you use the charge passthrough mod it won't get as hot.
There are not enough high graphical games to test this processor at it fullest
Anyone Have any issue with Redmagic phone? I am planning to get Oneplus 13 with rumours said 6000 battery and oled 2k ,or Redmagic 9s pro better ? I am not gaming type but love to take photo.
I seen no reason to pick it over the ROG.
I have ROG6, and I see no phone can replace it as a daily device.
I think the speakers of the gaming phone should be firing up front and out of the sides.
Overall it's a nice phone but I don't know about their update policy I know it's been an issue before.
16:12 looks like a photo taken in 70s 😅
Hold on a sec that stress test it said red magic 9 pro and not 9s pro???
That’s what it shows but clearly the phone is the 9S Pro 😂🤣
I figured might be just be a bug
I was about to get his phone but decided to keep my old oneplus 7t and then instead get a rog ally x to game on :)
Brilliant move I bought an Ally X and love it I thought my Legion Go was the best but the best gaming handheld is defiantly now the ROG Ally X!
ROG 7 or Redmagic 9s pro? Please help😭
Redmagic 9s pro
got the s7.
Enjoy the phone.
Lacks a expansion memory slot. So no extra storage like a SD card. IDK why not a mini NVME slot or something. it's already very thick. I don't think android apps install on expansion slot. Kinda need it for video and music at least and other file stuff.
Got the 512gb model. More storage next time.
Plays cod and pubg max.
i think my fan is defect. it's kinda audible.
idk playing pokemon tcg seems to make the phone hot.
Something happen most likely.
I always get different brand phones. They all seem to act weird after a year or 2. getting expensive.
Why are you testing genshin impact you should test wuthering waves which is more graphically intensive and lags on my dimensity 9300
Because Genshin Impact is much more popular. Just look at the downloads. But I get your point thanks. And I think Zenless Zone Zero is even more demanding than Wurthering Waves?
@@Techtablets you should try with newer games, and dont replace the genshin test, just add 1 or 2 more newer and demanding games
Wuthering waves is much more demandaing than zzz its unreql engine vs unity on hoyo games if it can run wuthering it can practically run anything!
Its just more demanding cause its an Open world, otherwise ZZZ would be more demanding
@@Techtablets wuthering waves just came out for genshin it's been a while that's why the downloads I guess
it does but this update should offer more like 4k120 video and cheaper price.
There is the pro+ with 160watt charging speed....lol
Man went on to say the phone lasts 4-5 hours...
I mean its literally a dayyyy
Yet still doesn't have frame generation chip like oneplus 12
I cant choose between this or xiaomi 14. I play games but with this prices I also pretend that camera is very good and thats why not sure if pick x14. I owned a xiaomi mi6 imported for 7 years ans never had problems until now, my phone having lot of issues now.
I have s24 plus 2400 with a fan 2400 would kill this though 2400 takes more battery it heats less than 8gen3
Game booster -> pause usb delivery, you can play with the cable plug in the phone without actually using the battery, the power goes directly to the mother board.
Please review the Tecno Camon 30 premier
Tecno doesn't want to know me.
If only software support was decent at least :/
If only they had stock android with custom rom support. Chinese oems are not good with software support.
I really wished these phones looked normal without all the 'gaming' look and rgb. Also much better cameras....
Same here, it would be nice. But there are aiming for a certain market and age group that likes that gamer bling look!
60°C =140°F 9:50
This is insane
Sure is.
Red magic 9s pro 12gb ram extended to 16gb ram on this version
Okay I see thanks
Awsome
I think the camera is fine. It's a phone not a camera.
Cool phone.
the best phone
Rise is not the top performance mode, Diablo mode is since that one should lock a 1000 mhz in Diablo mode for the gpu because my 9 pro has 903 mhz locked being I have regular snapdragon 8 gen 3
If this phone has a punchole instead of ud camera, its literally the most perfect phone for me
