I own both xreal air 2 and original beam. Still I'm not yet happy with both devices, especially with the beam and state of development for Nebula for windows, Android.... Seems like lots of advertisement for the new products from xreal while having RAW software on old devices, especially the original beam.... Xreal Guys - you have the potential - start investing in more in software and or opening up for the masses, so people can actually use your devices....

Excellent review as always! For my use case I'm using a z-fold 4 and an older model of x real glasses. Utilizing a compatible Samsung phone is key for me because I mostly go straight into DEX while using the glasses. With this combination I can accomplish just about everything the x beam pro gives you with the exception of placing the screen and of course true 3D photos. I love the products that ex real puts out, have tried just about all the competition and keep coming back to these due to how well they work. Looking forward to upgrade my glasses to the x-real ultra probably. Just not sure if it's worth getting the beam pro, not sure how much more functionality I would get from it.

I have a Bluetooth keyboard but not a mouse, so I'm trying to determine if I need to order a mouse. I don't want to have to pick up the beam to move the cursor between typing
Hello, thank you for your question. When paired with XREAL Air AR glasses, XREAL Beam Pro screen will turn into a controller, using the device itself as a laser pointer.
It would be sweet if you could control the mouse cursor with your head orientation. Wouldn't be hard to implement as they are already using spatial tracking for the body view. Just need to take control of the cursor to the midpoint of the screen. Mouse buttons remapped to keyboard keys. No more monitors, no more mouses.
I've had one preordered since day one, with the early adopters discount, from purchasing the original Beam. I realize it doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, but does it have face unlock?
If you still insist on having wireless AR experience, best stick with the standard Beam. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Beam Pro doesn't have wireless support.
One thing people aren't talking about much yet is about the beam VS beam pro in terms of view modes. The original beam could switch modes with the physical button, but as of yet I haven't heard anyone say anything about that functionality on the beam pro. Is it still possible to make the screen bigger and resize/position it? Also when is the xreal ultra coming? It seems like it was supposed to be out several times by now.

Us consumers want to know the Pros and Cons of each glasses along with the specs, display quality/resolution, FOV, standard connectors vs proprietary, cross-device compatibility such as Xreal Beam Pro paired with Viture/Rokid glasses or Rokid Station paired with TCL/Viture glasses, etc.
Personally, I own xreal glasses, I would rather use my mac's 1600p display than using xreal for the cropped 800p multi windows experience. There are lots of issues with xreal devices that no one is covering. I wish I had spent for meta quest instead,
@PSYCHOV3N0M I too was very supportive of xreal until I bought one spending more money than a quest 3, only to realize it's shortcomings. Their nebula app doesn't support all devices, most devices only supports screen mirroring. There is not a single app that has 3D media streaming, while meta has many dedicated apps.
@PSYCHOV3N0M I think reddit has more honest feedbacks on xreal. RUclips is filled with misleading sponsored contents. If possible try one for yourself to find out the shortcomings

@XREAL_Global yes true, but when using in multi monitor mode, we both know what resolution each monitor is running at. One suggestion, include a way to switch audio in the default video player within nebula. I don't see 3d media streaming coming to xreal anytime soon and there aren't many apps or sites that provide access to full sbs 3d videos.
The beam pro i received works but I was led to believe it was an upgrade from the beam IT IS NOT! It does not have the ability to connect to my devices like my beam does I can game on my beam I cannot game on the beam pro without excessive lag from miracast streaming to it. it was not worth the money I paid for it.
They did make a standalone app called Nebula, but it's really bad and limited due to the inability to run other apps in the spatial environment. Due to the restrictions that smartphone makers place on their versions of android, it's not really possible to make an app that does everything that the Beam Pro does without full control over the operating system.
Yes it is available on the Google Play store but it doesn't run as well that's on their native device I hope that they're able to make it more compatible in the future but it also relies on makers on the phones as well

That meant addressing customers pain points, like device fragmentation across the smartphone industry. Even with the Nebula app, our glasses can't connect to every model smartphone. Furthermore, there are still many devices that do not currently or cannot support DP output via USB-C. We opted to create a device where we could help remove some of the friction caused by the smartphone industry's device fragmentation. Similarly, this fragmentation also includes the protocol diffrences between not only brands, but devices themselves. We will continue to support Nebula and ensure our glasses work great on other devices. We will not take that away.

I have a fold 5 (with Dex). I also own a 1st gen Beam. After watching your (great) video, it seems an upgrade for me is probably not worthwhile…?
