Fun fact: The M47 is the only US MBT that never saw combat service with the United States.
They outsourced it instead.
@@obsidianjane4413 they did with all of their MBTs, it’s just that the M47 entered service at a weird time when many tanks were being developed and it was obsolete by the the time the M48 was introduced.
Weren’t they part of the staring contest at the Berlin Wall?

There’s a default setting automatically selected when you download the game. It allows you to join battles that have already begun in order to have less of a wait time. I turned mine off and I haven’t been late to a match since

Tankendtein there is a setting in options where you can turn of the fact you spawn in to games that have already begun
I prefer the Italian M47 105/55 (even though the tank's model is completely borked), but I like this one too. In fact, the Italian tree could also get a normal M47, and I hope it does eventually.
Imagine new players seeing this video and thinking that first thing they should research is the heat shell and not aphe.
The HEATFS is a very good shell, but you do need to research almost every other shell available to it so might as well research the APHE first so you arent stuck with solid shit
In my opinion one of the first modifications that you should get on the M47 is the M82 shell.

You can turn off that setting in Options
@@ashman8891 Even when you set it to not join a match in progress, you still load in 30 or so seconds after everyone. It’s just the game loading and takes forever on PS4/Xbox One.

Connor isn't talking about 'join in progress ' option. Rather it is the ridiculous load screens console players have to sit through if ping is not optimal.

i played the German M47 a while back from the warbond's and after that i went for the US m47 and haven't upgraded it yet but then i saw the Italian M47-105 and that thing is so much better with the 105mm than the 90mm. hope Both US and itlaian get the other versions of the M47 in both trees as the 105mm and 90mm versions are fun in their own right. but like the 105mm more.
I don’t have the US one but the M47 KPz (which is the same as far as Im aware) is one of my favourite tanks of all time. I usually take a ~60-40% mix of HEAT and APHE
Same, its my highest br German premium and with the Leo 1 7.3 is fucking amazing

i honestly hated the M47 stock, the solid shot for me wouldnt pen anything except light tanks, and it wouldnt spall on things i penetrated. When i got the APCR things took a drastic turn upwards in performance against everything that wasnt a Russian medium or heavy, and the HEATFS made it so that Russian mediums and heavies folded pretty easily

The cap points become supply and maintenance areas.
Does it make sense? No of course not. If anything the spawn points should be where those functions are, since they are where the laager/assembly area is... But game gonna game.

I love the German Patton, mainly cause you never had to do the stock grind on it
To be quite honest, bringing some APCBC alongside the HEAT-FS is quite nice when you want to finish off tanks that the HEAT-FS damaged

It's a walker bulldog with a better gun and sometimes useful armor. If that sounds good to you, buy the tank.

I loved using the M47 even stock
If you think this is good, check out the Italian tech tree m47 , sure it is basically lonely in that tech tree and br, but that Italian m47 not only is also 7.3, it starts with stock APDS and a good apds, and can research the same Heat round like the American m47. Just by that stock APDS round, I think the Italian m47 is way superior.

Compared to the M48, it has a faster turret traverse (same speed as the Bulldog actually), a coax 50 cal, and different profile. Haven't played it myself since it's foldered with the M46 but it's pretty nice for what it offers if the grind isn't stupidly atrocious
Faster reverse as well, the m48 has the same horsepower but only 8 km of reverse unlike the m47 that has 19 km of reverse
Patton's are ok. They really lack stabilisation and smoke launcher's. Like cmon even Sherman's had the basic one and you can see in the video how much this crosshair is jumping around, very annoying while playing.
👍. Starting a match late doesn’t bother me. Least that way u get to see where all the bots have gone.. plus see where the reds r because the bots disappear from that area.plus u save on repair costs. Because if your team is full of bots. U only need to repair 1 tank. Because u know if 10 tanks disappear in the first 30 - 60 seconds u know it’s a loss. So u only have to pay for 1 repair. Save a lot of silver that way. Until snail remove the bots 4br & above especially around 6 - 8 br range. Or if it happens to be cheaters putting bots in ? It’s getting quite frustrating the amount of bots in wt now.
The whole Patton Series is pretty bad compared to what other nations have at the BR. You're forced to rely on MEH CHEAT-FS to fight enemies head on and they aren't crazy fast to get to good flanking spots early. It's insane to me that the T-54 is the same BR as the M48A1.

Starting late in a match sucks- I don’t notice cause with my Xbox even with join in progress turned off, I always spawn in 1:30-2 minutes late
You should buy SSD for your Xbox

You can choose not to join matches late. Should be off by default if you ask me but, gaijin.
I guess it's on by default to reduce queue times and increase the no. of games players can get into but for experienced players turning it off is the best option
The 7.3 BR makes a big difference to 7.0.
I have 2.0 KDR in my M46 Patton which is at 7.0, but my KDR in the M47 is 0.5.
It could be that I've just had really bad matchmaking, but 60 matches seems like a really long streak to be getting bad matches.
By all rights the M47 should be superior to the M46, so I can't think of anything else thats so greatly affecting my performance other than the .3 BR difference.
Even with HEATFS I'm still struggling way more in this than I did the M46.

Like japanese tanks, st-a1 (6.3) - big, no armor, 35kp is your "normal" speed but u have very very big zoom, 50/50 matchmaking, max downtier or max toptier, i have around 3.5 kd on it.
and then you have tank like sta-3 (6.7) autoloader (6 sec reload) better maneuverability and same gun but with "normal" zoom and what? you play basically only on 7.3 br, object 120, leos 1, is-6 have fun bro! ... so i prefer playing st-a1 cuz it has "normal" matchmaking even though st-a3 is way way better.
The delay isn't 'join in progress '. It's the delay caused by slow internet. Console players are especially vulnerable to delays in the game lobby. And sometimes a game takes minutes to get all players into a match. WT being WT, am I right?
Nope. Internet speed doesn't mean anything to the matchmaker. It has a period (up to a minute it seems) where it can throw you into a game that has already started but isn't full.
I hated the “forehead” on this vehicle, the low gun makes you vulnerable even when you think you’re undercover.
Theres a setting for starting late..
It's not optional anymore btw, you've got to unlock it to get the m48...
it is so funny that 50 cal was able to pen and kill panzer 4 in ww2 but it struggles here with shi**y bmp1 armor
I don't agree that M47 is better than 48 in game. The M48 has more rounded shape and bounce AP shells like crazy. Put a bushes on it and watch them panic.
Iv had the M47 bounce SABOT, and of course almost no APHE can pen it from the front except for the hull. M48 is just overall worse except in the stock grind as its got a major weakness with the .50cal turret and the cast front has alot of inconsistencies and has ammo right behind the weak spots

This tank atleast for me is huge no no to play Gunner View is wrong from 2015 Gaijin admit it but never fix it in order to shoot you take half your tank from cover ( hill ) entire turret geting expose + ammo rack with 1 hit at the turret
I'm sorry but Gaijin unability to fix some tanks is insane even worst they sell German Premium for 8+k GE and still not fix the issue with the Gunner View

I hate this tank even spaded. Its profile is so huge I get donked even when in cover. The turret basically feels like its made out of cotton balls given how easily shells keep penning it
It does feel like the shape of the turret has less effect than it looks like it should. But against Soviet shells and their magic ability to ignore anything short of ricochet angles and HEAT-FS I suppose that shouldn’t actually surprise me.
Plus American 90mm rounds generally disappoint me with their post pen damage. I blame much of that on gunner error, but I don’t have seem to have the same issue with 85mm or 88mm guns. 🤔
Its that damn .50 cal. on pedestal acting like a "here I am!" flag.
