ALMOST

"Wow, I hate that."
This is the closest we've ever been to getting the sub 1 minute race. After FINALLY getting the 2nd trick to line up (could have still been a better setup), my mind COMPLETELY blanked out because it's the first time I've ever been in that situation. I completely screwed up the intentional overheat because in my shock I kept my finger held down on the accelerator for too long. According to my math (which is hard to do because my capture doesn't display the time accurately enough) this would have been a 59.9X. Gonna keep trying though!
Recently I created a "TAS" using this route, and this is what I've found out (and this is still speculative until I prove it).
This route plus these endings gives us these times:
A normal ending: 1:00.15
An ending with an Intentional Overheat (IOH): 59.98
An ending with a bunny hop over the last mogul: 59.92
An ending with the "weird launch:" 59.87
That 59.87 will probably never happen because that "weird launch" is pixel/speed dependent and not something I can accurately do on command.
For now, this is the route:
-A lap with a pop that gives us a 30.01 lap
-A 2up (which can have 2 variations, one of which is SLIGHTLY better) in the 2nd lap (also has to work out that we lower our engine temperature to keep on the gas)
-An intentional overheat, bunny hop, or "weird launch" at the end.
Even though this failed, I WAS able to add one new piece of data to the overlay for future runs:
"Chances so far (where we get the first 2 tricks we need): 1"
PS: just noticed I've never explained one thing, so I'll do so now. The fastest first lap (FLAP) of 29.88 is what happens when you get a 2up in lap 1 - that's the only way I'm able to compare how much time it saves when compared to a leapfog/pop which gives us the 30.01 FLAP.
