- On today’s episode of the SSPX Podcast, we continue with the “Why Not” questions about what is reasonable to believe. In this episode, we turn our attention to Judaism. The Jewish people were the chosen people of God with whom He made a divine Covenant. Given this, is it true that this Covenant is still valid? Following the coming of Jesus Christ and the founding of the Church, is it right to practice Judaism today?

Agree Father. I'm a traditional Catholic and reading the Old Testament was transformative. It enriched my love and understanding of God. I grew in the Faith immeasurably. It also triggers one to explore history and Biblical archaeology. I have a respect for the Jews and wait the day when as St Paul writes, the blindness is removed and they recognize Our dear Lord Jesus Christ whom they encountered in the Old Testament as God - "Before Abraham I Am".
In our churches we hear countless homilies on eternal punishments, on rivers of fire, on the venomous worm, on bonds that cannot be burst, or exterior darkness. But the Jews neither know nor dream of these things. They live for their bellies, they gape for the things of this world, their condition is not better than that of pigs or goats because of their wanton ways and excessive gluttony. They know but one thing: to fill their bellies and be drunk, to get all cut and bruised, to be hurt and wounded while fighting for their favorite charioteers. - St. John Chrysostom
Judaism, the true religion, died when the temple was destroyed as predicted by our Lord. No Temple, no priest, no sacrifice, no Judaism. It was reconstituted, in the form we know it today, about 400 years later, with a group of rabbis went to the Roman emperor and asked permission to found a school. But it is stretching things to say it was a religion that was once true. Big asterisk there.
You contradicted yourself in the first and last sentence.
Wow, this was amazing! What an excellent and in-depth lesson. I learned so much! Wouldn't it be great if Father could supply some pdf notes on this subject. I would really appreciate a hard copy of this information. I will listen to this again to try to retain as much as I can. God bless you!
Learning some me new things about Judi’s today and coming converting them new and Old Testament . Thanksgiving fiat fiat fiat ❤❤❤
Thank you for some of the history, especially with regard to Palestine. I wish this was all better known (especially by Catholics today).
Fascinating. Thank you, Father. SSPX priests are next level intellects and speakers 🙏
Thanks
Say "my mon id ease" with "id" as in "bid" when you read "Maimonides."
Please post the source references mentioned at the beginning.
In Matthew 5 Jesus said the beatitudes did not replace the old covenant but to help you fulfill them.
Seeing my fellow parishioners become the next Tucker Carlson. Trad Caths have content
Because Isaiah predicted Jesus Christ and it was ignored by ongoing generations.
When a new covenant takes effect the old covenant disappears. The Book of Hebrews
Jewish the ethnicity. Judaism the faith. How about Isaiah 53 Zechariah 9:9 Zechariah 11:3. Micah 5:2 Josefes misspelled
Theological differences should not change the fact that we are all God’s children with duties of charity towards each other. Thanks
Actually, the Church teaches
we only become children of God with water baptism.
I believe Josephus said by 150 AD Jerusalem was 90% Christian Jews and only 10% of Jews in the Holy Lands had not become Christians. We Christians have the faith because these early Jews did become followers of Jesus.
However Jews were living in other parts of the Roman Empire and had never heard of Jesus, so we have the non Christian Jews today. It is considered an act of blasphemy for a Jew to read the New Testament or enter a Christian church.
I assure you that all Jews know who Jesus Christ is and they reject and rejected Him. Please don’t make excuses for them. They have no excuse for rejecting Christ. I don’t understand why Christian people feel that they need to make excuses for the Jews and their cosmic crime.
There are 613 Jewish laws
Israel means wrestles with God.
Even Moses ..he was not a jew... Even Abraham , Isaac and Jacob all of them were not jews..
NO
Andrew, are you saying México is not Catholic? Then why is the FSSPX there, come on, think before talking. México must be the most Catholic country in the face of the earth, we might not like some aspect of the "popular faith " but still, the vast majority is Catholic. Even with all the terrible effects of the insuficient and invalid novus ordo "rite".
God doesn't go back on His covenant he made with the Jewish people
Correct. They've gone back on it by rejecting Christ, and continue to do so everyday they continue to reject Christ.
Jesus says: "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." NO ONE. John 14: 6.
No one.
Zionist bootlicker, Jews hate Jesus, there aren’t two paths to salvation either.
