@@larsfocken3456 that’s what I thought until I actually got a Gibson, there’s no comparison in the feel, quality and sound the Gibson has over the Epiphones
Just pulled the trigger! Been kicking it around for a year.. Shouldn't have waited as the price went up substantially. This will be my first Gibson so I'm stoked! The black color scheme is just bad ass! I like the idea of the push pulls. I own a USA Bich 10 string so I like the versatility. Great video! Keep on rocking!
I just got a 2020 Les Paul Classic. I also have a 2002 Studio and a 2013 '52 Tribute (the Les Paul face and all that). The Classic has that "Number One" feel to it that I just can't put into words. What a great guitar. And if anyone is wondering (as I did), the Classic is still a heavy Les Paul with all the meat. Can't go wrong if interested in buying one. It plays "fast" if you know what I mean. I do recommend oiling the fretboard.
Got one... lighter than I expected. Played it for 5 minutes and had to buy it. Its a cool guitar with a lot of versatile features on the guitar itself.
I have owned the 2012 LP Standard and currently own both the 2023 LP Standard 50's and 2023 LP Classic Ebony, just like the one Degan is playing. I am telling you, the Classic is the ultimate Les Paul of all of them. It is amazing that you see them selling in mint condition on marketplace for 1600. Go fetch them folks ! It doesn't get better than this.
The bypass is doesn't really have much of an effect to justify it being there. I would have preferred seeing a switch that puts both humbuckers in series to make up for the volume loss of the phase switch and the coil splits like the Jimmy Page style wiring
I am considering this imminently but I love the worn version. You did a video on that as well but the only difference is the pots and phase switching which as a beginner intermediate I could never envision using as without it it is an incredible guitar. I’m torn between the finish to be honest. I can’t decide.
If it is Gibson or an Epiphone they are nice guitars.I cannot a Gibson but bought a brand new Epiphone Les Paul Classic worn black for e reasonable price and I love it !It is easy to get used to just playing for myself.
the newer ones have really great sounding pickups but they don't beat the ones made between 1990-2008, that slim taper 60s neck on those were slick. but i felt the older burstbucker 1 2 or 3 were the better fit on those older ones
I have the Epiphone LP Classic Honey burst and I think it's a great guitar. I tried the same one at Gibson and I didn't find much difference in quality but in price. The brand is paid.
Been looking at these, the standard, and studio! I’ll wait and see what Black Friday deals hit then jump on one. But just a great sounding guitar and it’ll stretch my les paul itch.
I have the honey burst, I prefer the lighter colours, you can see the woodgrain, and looks more authentic, sort of vintage. Plus the nitro finish is just gorgeous, feels really warm and smooooooooth ..... 🙂
Any! I would go for a British amp such as marshall Laney or blackstar but the classic rock tone is Les Paul and Marshall so if I had a reasonable budget it would be a origin 20
I just recently bought this guitar and the pickups really suck,I'm going with dirty fingers in the neck and bridge to wake it up..I'm a big John Sykes fan and love his tone so that's what I'm shooting for with a mesa boogie mark 3..
I wouldnt pay penny over 2 grand for a gibson classic. They should offer this guitar without the coil split, out phase and bypass knobs for 1799.99 then I would buy one.
@@johnsmith-ug5tp 1800$ with a satin finish would be awesome. 2100$ for a flametop option would be nice as well. I think then they would start to outsell the standards.
I got one after two years thinking,I love the color black and zebra humbuckers.first One I give it back because of bad work on color it wasn't good work ,second was better it's very nice Guitar, pusch pul I don't like it any way after two years I got it yeaaaaah Gibson is Gibson
Beautiful guitar and I would go out and buy one right now if it didn’t have those terrible sounding pickups. Yes I’ve played with those pickups for awhile on different amps but all I can say is, they suck. And that Coil Tapping……….. WTF? Of course it could all be switched out but Gibson now has everything on a circuit board so you have to redo the whole wiring harness. It’ll pay a bit more and buy a 1990s era Classic.
I bought this guitar 2 years ago (2021) and it has become my #1 gigging Les Paul albeit with a couple of mods. The stock pickups were not at all to my liking. I find the 61 series pickups to be muddy and lack note definition, i.e. terrible and I knew that going in. So, I changed the pickups to my good old favorite Dimarzio Super Distortions and had my tech remove the circuit board (which I call a tone sucker) and rewire the guitar with CTS pots, bumblebee caps and treble bleeds on both pickups WITHOUT the push/pull coil taps, phase or bypass which I never use on a Les Paul. I am old school and have other guitars for single coil tones. I wanted a ""Classic"" in the truest '70's sense of the word and now this guitar screams Classic! I also top wind the strings to reduce the break angle and use Ernie Ball Regular RPS (Reinforced Plain String) 10-46 strings for much, much better tuning stability. Of course I've kept the original electronics in a box and they're put away for safekeeping. This is a great guitar and I love the neck profile. BTW, you are so correct! Even with the weight relief my guitar weighs in at a whopping 9lbs 10oz! ... Great video as always! 🎸
Epiphone LPs are great. I had a Gibby standard from 2016 and sold it. Got an epi trad Pro 3 and swapped out all the parts from my broken gibby LP studio [classic headstock break] why? Because the epi sounded just as good as the gibby. I mean the gibby smelt amazing and had great craft work but I don't care about that at all
Ebony LPs are my favorite looking guitar. Can't afford a Gibson. So mine is an Epi Standard with zebra Pearly Gates.
I upgraded my Epi LP Standard 50s with Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers. It is great! No need to buy a Gibson.
Oooooo nice
@@larsfocken3456 it's nice to have the real thing though .

I want one in this colour with a pint of guiness included. It just goes together.
An awesome pairing 😎
I have a 2019 Classic in Honeyburst. As far as I know the specs haven't changed at all since then. Absolutely awesome guitar. Heavy as hell though.

Thumbs up just for the performance in the beginning 🙂
fancy it. i love the guitar. Dagan is right, can't stop playing it. i wish they bring back LP Classic lite or LP custom lite.
Anyone who bought a lp standard before the price increases got a steal considering this now costs the same as a standard from last year
The Ebony LP Classic with Zebra pups is bad ass, love it! =)
🤘🤘
Me too and I’ve got one to prove it 👍
The necks on Classics are just so rewarding.
Great demo Dagan! I, also, appreciate the aesthetics of this Classic Les Paul. Keep rockin'!
Great video, I have a Gibson les paul classic in honey burst...... love it, and bought it in pmt Cardiff...... my number 1 music shop!!
I own one in cherry red and i like it ! Great vid
Wow cool! I just brought Newcastles B stock in the super dudper black Friday sale and it turns out it's this one
Serial numbers match
I recently added a gibson classic lite to my collection. It has become my favorite les paul!! Same ebony and zebra pickups.
Got the lemon burst version, love it and the set up was 👌 from the shop display.

Great review! My Gibson LP Classic is arriving soon for Christmas! I feel like a kid all over again!
The Limited Edition Les Paul Classic in Chicago Blue is new for 2023. I'm thinking hard on getting it maybe 4th July if they go on sale!

I have the same guitar. It’s great. I use it for recording several different types of music.
i think the 61 zebra pickups in the gibson are better but not enough to justify the price
love the ebony but the oxblood is the one for me. when I save up enough for a custom shop I'll go alpine white or a green burst

Gibson Les Dennis with classic banter pickups for me.
Bought one same color a year ago was 2000 list then . nice guitars.
I’d like to take a years worth of guitar lessons from this guy
Specs, blah, blah, blah! I am sold based on the seeing Dagan have so much fun playing this guitar!
I'm new to electric guitars, which amp is good for this guitar?
Marshall or BOSS Katana
any good amp with controllable gain. I use Friedmans, not everyone's wallet....so Marshall or a "good" Peavey as next.

I'd wish they'd make some black 60s Standards and send them to Australia. It's ridiculous trying to buy one here.

A year ago the standards cost what the classic does now. 2500$ US seems too high for a classic imho

Not on the Classic. Ebony is what the Les Paul Custom is for.
