I really like the split neck in the middle postion. They are absolute tone factories. A good one would really be the only guitar you would ever need. I really love the twang on the clean channel.
Finally bought a real Gibson a couple years ago. Absolutely love my 2022 Classic Honeyburst! The bypass switch might be a bit of a boost, but the biggest reason to use it is to drastically change to high power from a quieter lower tone setting. Also it doesn’t bypass the coil split if you are on the bridge. I use the “Peter Green mode” all of the time. Just an amazing guitar. My others don’t hold a candle to it.
Me too! But, I like my Epiphone Slash goldtop better. That Peter Green switch is the cats pajama's. I like splitting the neck and playing middle on mine. I also love the country voicings this thing has. Sweet as Tupelo Honey. Oddly enough I just got my first SG, an Epiphone SGModern, that has the exact same options. I have pretty much quit playing anything else recently, except my sons Squire Bullet Telecaster sometimes.
I got the black one. I love the guitar. The features make it an absolute tone factory. Oddly enough, after that I got my first SG, an Epiphone SG Modern with the dxact same features and I kust don't seem to want to play it that much compared to the SG. And I already had an Epiphone Slash goldtop. Not as versatile, but at 8 1/2 lbsit beats hell out of the "weight relieved" boat anchor. Probably pushing 10 lbs. The Slash (not really a huge fan) is probably the best Les Paul I have ever played. I have even had people tell me that the Classic is a much better guitar (wow, the nerve lol) I don't know if I got just a superb one or what, but it is a premium, gorgeous guitar that absolutfly rocks balls. Great demo.
I absolutely need this guitar, my plan is to install humbucker covers and switch out the knobs to make it look very similar to george harrison's/clapton's refinished gold top "lucy" les paul (which is my favorite guitar of all time)
If you are looking for a Les Paul to play, I say, this IS the one. You would literally never need another guitar with all the tone options. Honestly though, I like my Epiphone Slash goldtop better than any Les Paul I ever played. Two piece mahogany back, 8 1/2 lbs, custombuckers and strap locks. It is the cats pajama's
I played this and the 60s b2b neck felt exactly the same. It’s really the 60s with cheaper production process so they didn’t specifically choose the wood that goes into this hence the weight relief because its no lighter than a 60s. Same for the top and pups arent hand wired. But these are great. It was better than the 60s imo.
@@bewusstsein3527 sure because you’re going to feel that on the neck? ‘Ohh its weight relieved so the neck feels different’ gimmie a break they felt equally as heavy and, played and felt exactly the same. Acc the classic was a little brighter too so it acc sounded a tad more like the og les pauls. And had more options pcb or not. You buy this for handwired electronics which you can do in any guitar with better quality parts and a flame top.
@@Coolbeans1492 looks like you have reading comprehension issues.. i have a gibson classic that has handwired electronics with orange drop capacitor and its a non weight relieved from factory.. the neck is slim taper.. never tried a 50s style neck but neck profile form me is not an issue..
@@bewusstsein3527 acc i don’t because im not talking abt 2018 classics which are entity irrelevant to the comment and subject matter. If you want to talk abt relevance or even reading comp then what does your classic have to do with the current line up of classics feeling exactly like the 60s standards?
Agreed. To me it was no contest. As much as I want to be a traditionalist, the tonal options this sweet thang has make it a players delight. The cleans are so country and beautiful, the "splits", the overdrive... It could really be the only guitar you ever needed. Notice it has been discontinued, I think it was sinking 60's Standard sales at $600 more.
I thought that this model was discontinued but I would like to buy one, I would replace the reflecting knobs with the ones they use on the LP Standard 50s, the gold color.
In late 2019 I went in to the Edmonton South store, intent on buying a Les Paul Standard in blue burst. Walked out instead with a Honeyburst Les Paul Classic and nearly a grand left over in cash. The Classic just felt better in my hands, by a long ways, and it sounded really good too.
The presenter here seems to be confusing coil splitting with coil tapping. Coil splitting will, in fact, do what he says in this video. Unfortunately, this model has coil tapping, not coil splitting. This simply means that the humbucker has its winds "tapped off" to the circuit after a certain number of winds. Then the wind continues with a new wind. The circuit will combine both for the full output of the pickup (all winds) and when "tapped" it just uses the first winding. ALL this does it make the humbucker lower output since that's all that's happening: fewer winds. It still remains a humbucker and the tone does not substantially change. It will push your amp less, however, which could give you the impression that there's a tonal change in the pickup. As an aside, the epiphone actually does coil splitting. The gibson, coil tapping.
This LP Classic has '61 Burstbuckers R/T which have more output and sound beefier, and the Yorkville Limited Edition Faded LP Classic has '61 Zebras which are lower output, which sound a bit cleaner, a bit more top end.
That color is awesome.
Agreed! That Translucent Cherry finish is what made the video happen in the first place, it really stood out from the pack. AMAZING guitar all around!
I hate ir
thanks for the knobs tutorial! love my 2020!
Love my classic, I bought one couple months ago after being out of the game of playing for about 17 years
Me too. Got the black one. It is an absolute toneachine, but, damn, mine is heavy. Maybe ill drill some core holes to lighten ig up.
I just got one. Love it. Still learning the push/pull pots but the sounds are incredible.

That would really sell the look of Lucy!
Una guitarra preciosa.
This may be the one. Not sure why the knob gets switched out halfway through. Great video thanks.

Not all classic is weight relieved and pcb.. 2018 is one of the best classic out there and those early 90s

Putting black speed onobs on my black and cream one.

Very nice well explained demo
Is'nt it basically a 60,'s Standard with more features?

You do know the silver cap has fallen off the bridge volume already? Mine fell off on day 1, I preferred the look so I took them all off.
Got a black one, so smoke speed knobs for me.
I love this color, do you still have this in stock in Toronto?
Yes, this exact model and finish is in stock right now at our Bloor St. store in Toronto.
How come the bypass knob changed ?
You gotta start using those Traynors in your demos eh !
Is there a pickups difference in the Faded Yorkville Limited version ? Thanks !

How come your channel never features keyboards? Don't you sell them anymore?🙄
