What a waste of a brand name ! It takes many years, lots of effort and money to build a brand, a name that comes to your mind when you need something, and these guys just throw it away like a blade envelope. thanks Geo, you just saved Accu-something from oblivion.

Nope they did not. Same factory 🏭 been there for over a 100 years.
I've enjoyed the persona blades,but gonna stick with feather from here on out I believe. Can't go wrong
you should do a blind test of 3-5 blades and rank them before looking what blade was in the safety razor. also im interested in the shave nation circle swirl safety razor, love that design, would enjoy seeing a review on it by you. :)
just ordered a 5 pack of voskhods and a 5 pack of nacets to try, never used either.

Thanks a lot for this info! Personna Med Prep has been my absolute favorite blades for years, with Feather a close second. I still have a bunch of Personna Med Preps, bought a box of 100 blades years ago and I still have at least 50. I can use them for 5-6 shaves at least, and I only need to shave once or twice a week, so it's been really economic for me while providing an amazing shave. Looking forward to your comparison of the old and new version! I need to check if the old version can still be ordered somewhere, just in case the new is not as good.

Thanks. I received a package today of what I thought was Personna on got the new brand. Appreciate the information. Also, I am subscribed but haven’t had one of your videos come up in years.
I bought some Persona Platinum blades to try as my daily use but found that while they give a good shave, they tend to nick my neck a bit and don't glide smoothly.

Wow! Didn't know about this as I use mostly Personna med blue blades for my shaving needs now will have to update my blades!
I wonder if that means the Personna Lab Blues will be discontinued as well? I have both the Med Preps and Lab Blues. For my beard and skin I can't tell any difference.
Not sure why they wouldn't just leave the name alone. It's already well established.

Never tried them, but always had good experience with a feather, nacet or bic chrome platinum.

Are these supposed to be sharper than the AccuForge Super Stainless Steel Microcoat? I just about gave up trying to find a sharper blade than the Feather.
Geo it’s been a few months now since you got that package from Japan. Are you still planning on making a video on that vintage feather? I’m really curious to see how it and the carbon blades perform.

Amazon ones are knock off made offshore. Plus they are 25% of the real blades. If you like to shave with a knock off go ahead I tried them. I could barely get one shave out f them.
What is the difference between accuthrive blades and accuforge blades? Are they as sharp as feather, in my AS-D2, feather blades give me the least weepers and nicks. …. So far. Thanks.

Oh Schlitz! I do hope this doesn’t affect the Personna Comfort Coat USA blades. They’re all I use in my Gillette Adjustable Fatboy & Slim Razors!

Geo - Let’s see the comparison with a couple r41s. I’m thinking a more blade feely razor will provide more feedback. What a shame on brand name but if it’s the same (and same price) who cares. Looks like you are ready for a shave now anyway 😊
I have been struggling in the past few months to find the Personna Platnium blades made in Germany. The main importers (to NZ) seem to be out or only have the ones made in Israel.

Wew, I was really worried for a second. I don't care for the re-branding but I'm happy that these blades are still made the same way in a USA factory (in Virginia I've heard?). At least for now... I'm gonna order some more to stock up just in case haha.
The factory in Verona VA is still in operation.

Hey Geo, I'm kinda new to safety razor shaving. Got the bug now (picked up a few razors including a rockwell 6c, merkur futur and a Fatip Lo Storto), but I'm really struggling with cuts around the moustache area, especially with ATG shaving in this area.
Could you do a video on the topic of getting a real smooth finish around this area?
don't go against the grain if your skin can't handle it. Everybody has different skin.
@tomatoesgrow8009 to be fair I've not struggled at all XTG but I've cut ATG shaving out all together on and around that area for now. Just annoying that I can't get the same finish there as the rest of my face you know?

My dad purchased a box of 100 of the USA made Persona blades recently (not the med prep, but the other ones), and he said they would barely cut. So he gave them to me. The first three or four blades would shave but didn’t cut that good. The next blade I used was sharper and I got at least 3-4 three pass shaves with it. So, I am wondering if they had a bad batch of blades come out of the factory or what?

That’s almost $1 CAD per blade after tax. And I thought I was splurging on Personna Lab Blues at $0.28 CAD per blade.
Personna ist still produced in Solingen. They are still fine
Basically all they really did was buy the company out and change the names of the products. I really enjoyed the Israeli Personna Reds in my Rockwell 6C.
I only wish that some soap company would buy the rights to Mug Shaving Soap, because they made the best shaving soap pucks…buy the rights and the original formula.
There as sharp as feather for me. I still have 100 medical 😊grade blues squirreled away, I will stack them near my perssonna 74 injector bladed. I have a TON of blades stock piled for zombie 🧟♂️ apocalypse
Love your videos too. I don’t see a problem if they were made in Mexico or anywhere else… you use Casio’s made in Japan or Apple Watches from China. The idea is to get the best stuff.
The whole American Safety Razor/Edgewell/Personna/Accutech thing gets confusing.
WTF... Did Geo not know Personna Prep were always made by Accu-Tech?
But were they “always” made by Eccu-Tech? I imagine they were actually made by Personna before Eccu-Tech bought then company in 2015.
