It's classic "Good Cop Bad Cop" Huyang doesn't hesitate to tell Sabine like it is but he also has a wealth of experience and wisdom to draw from and he shares it freely. He is also a traditionalist working with two very non traditional companions. Ahsoka's role is the good cop who is watching the rookie struggle, knows they will eventually "get it" but has also has seen what happens when training goes wrong. As a Mandalorian Sabine is "attachment" personified. Attached to tradition, Attached to family even attached to her armor. Knowing when to "let go" is NOT something Sabine ever learned and that is a huge hurdle to jump to fully tap into the Light side (Balanced) part of the Force.

@@davidmacy411 yes but obiwan wasnt untalented, he was just not extremely talented, he defied odds by as shown being able to match anakin in episode III despite not being as force sensitive like anakin and yoda, but he was still senstive enough to be a proper jedi regardless of his incredible work ethic. sabine however is as stated the weakest ever to be accepted, so definitely not comparable to obiwan who was at least average. logically, sabine will never be able to have abilities like obiwan, asking for that is like hoping to be a basketball legend when one is 4 foot 11 inches tall. not to say that sabine will never make progress, but hoping that sabine will become a mandalorian jedi like tarre vizsla, the original creator of the darksaber is foolish, and she is definitely meant to find her own path
He was indeed a lot stronger with the force than you think. Chirrut belonged to the Guardians of the whillis. He has even traveled in the world between worlds in 1 bby. You can hear his voice when young Ezra enters there as well. Very interesting character forsure, not as force sensitive as a jedi but not cut off like Sabine. His other senses were heightened due to the force and him being one with it.
@@davidmacy411 Yeah I agree. There has been some interesting star wars media where siblings were split apart by the Jedi Order because one of the children displayed better sensitivity to the force. Later down the line the left behind sibling channels their anger/sorrow/whatever to do some damage as a force user. It's an interesting topic -- what do we do about these people that are marginally sensitive to the force.
Let us not forget that Asoka is not trying to train Sabine to be a Jedi. She’s training her to use the force that’s best for Sabine. I seriously applaud Dave Filoni for taking this direction. There’s no way Asoka would try to train anybody in a belief she doesn’t even believe in. How many times has she said “I am no Jedi!”?
I’ve been saying that Huyang is the anti-3cpo! His line about how he couldn’t shut down because he had too much work to do reminded me of a dream I had when I was overworked. I said, “I can’t wake up now, I have way too much work to do!”
Huyang, also told Sabine, she was making excuses for not wanting to resume her training, and also pushed Ashoka to restart Sabine's training. He's berating Sabine, at the same time, pushing her, and Ashoka to train.🤔
I actually think Ahsoka wants Sabine as an apprentice BECAUSE she is weak in the force. Everyone she knows who has a lot of natural talent who trains to be Jedi has been tempted by the dark side or has fallen entirely. Dark side users value raw Force power, so it is very unlikely they would try to turn Sabine. I also think this is why she turned down Grogu as an apprentice.
Huyang is teaching more than Sabine..... he is being the bad cop so Ahsoka cannot be the bad cop...... his job is to train folks in the ways of the Jedi ALWAYS........
Considering Huyang was still around even thru the end of the Empire, there needs to be context as to why Luke never encountered Huyang in the efforts to build his green lightsaber
Luke never really needed help with that. Obi-Wan left him everything he needed, including a crystal (Qui-Gon's)*. *Unless you want to go by one of the Disney canon retcons: - Luke made it artificially using a Sith technique, but with the light side. - Got it from a weird crystal dealer after ESB As for parts, lightsabers are technically very simple, being made from the same parts as blasters for the most part. It's just the crystal that's the unique and hard to find part.
Luke would have had literally zero idea huyang was even a thing. He knew only what obi wan and yoda told him about the Jedi. I seriously doubt they mentioned the lightsaber robot to him. Doesn’t really need explaining.
@SigTheSauceMan The novelization from 1983 mentions he foraged the "focusing crystal" himself out of tools snd parts he found in obiwans home (this was before khyber crystals became canonized) the novelization was written using the original script and story boards, so there are a few things that didn't make it into the film. Retconing the crystal to be qui gon's would fit the expanded cinematic lore, And makes total sense.
2 reasons 1 he found jokasta’s stash (about 1/5 of the Jedi library standard and higher level records.) and a few other troves so he had all the info he needed And 2 when he did make his green lightsaber he was stranded on a nihil ship in the middle of a cluster system in flux. So even if he did know about huang he could not go to him
I dont think I would have a problem with her having powers, as long as its done in a much slower way than others. Remember that Obi Wan was always said to never be particularly gifted, but he was easily the hardest worker and study which enabled him to become a legend. Its possible she could be decent with powers eventually, but just not instant next level stuff any time soon.
So my thoughts are: 1) He is low key training Ahsoka to be a better teacher. 2) Playing "Bad Cop" to Ahsoka's attempt at "Good Cop". 3) Has been the 10th Doctor piloting a droid the whole time.
I still dont see the problem with the midoclorians. Its a mere quantification. You will still have people strong with the force and others who are not. If you lose an arm or leg or anything, you lose a connection to the force. As we have seen with Vader. Its a way to measure the vague strength with the force. To me , sabine should never be able to force push or pull anything. But maybe feeling presences as she is not adept with the force. If she pulls something, it should take alot out of her
To me the Midiclorians are not a "power level" so much as a cheat of sorts. My understanding is that they give a being an innate sense of the Force, which allows that being to basically skip what would take a normal person possibly years or decades of training to master. You could compare it to something like mathematics. Everybody can learn mathematics, and with enough effort anybody can become very proficient, but some people are just wired differently and mathematics just inherently "clicks" for them. Where that analogy breaks down, though, is in that a talent for mathematics is not the result of micro organisms existing in your body. But, that brings me to another point. I believe that somebody with a low Midiclorian count that, through hard work and meditation, becomes proficient in the use of the Force would not suffer a loss of that proficiency as greatly as somebody with a high count. Because high count individuals essentially skipped the most fundamental basics, due to the Midiclorians giving them a basic understanding from the get-go, the loss of a significant amount of Midiclorians could majorly impact how they connect with the Force. Only Force users that have dedicated themselves to training and meditation on the Force, such as Qui Gon or Ahsoka might suffer a severed limb with little impact to their connection to the Force. I think this is basically how Filoni understands the Force and Midiclorians, and is generally how Lucas tried to lay it out. What I'm not sure of, though, is if Midiclorians work in concert with the will of the Force, or if they are a free agent. We understand that Darth Plagius influenced the Midiclorians to create Anakin, but that then begs the question, was Anakin the will of the Force? And also, since the Force exists outside of time, allowing things like future sight and the World Between Worlds, can we actually take the Prophecy of the Chosen One to be an indication of the will of the Force, or was that just assumed because the Force revealed that the events would happen? It's curious, there's so much mystery surrounding the Force, even after all these years, but we, as fans, have latched onto the small snippets of facts that we've been given. And then, with those facts, gone about making assumptions that have lead us all to believe that, whichever assumptions we believe, what we have assumed is the truth of the matter.
The problem with the midoclorian explanation is that it opens up the force to examination by hard sciences. And it doesn't solve the power creep issue. Here's an example: Even the worse Jedi initiate could use a good deal of telekinesis. But even if your midoclorian count was lower than the minimum acceptable for the Jedi, there would still be lots of people who could demonstrate some form of minor telekinesis or foresight. Also, you have the problem of biology. Do siblings always need to be equally force sensitive? Can force sensitivity be genetically purged? Could you create a force sensitive clone? Genetically alter someone to be force sensitive? Pandora's box has already been opened here so better make the best of it. But I think it makes storytelling harder.
I feel like everyone just forgets what kanaan jarrus says to hera when he is training sabine in the dark saber, he says that she has the ability but is passively choosing not to embrace it because of her mandalorian heritage. (im paraphrasing)
Oh, oh no. Huyang is 25 THOUSAND years old, made in 25,020 BBY, because the people who make Star Wars have no idea how structures and civilizations work, so they've made everything about 100x older than it could possibly, reasonably be. The Old Republic Era lasted 24,000 years. Even the Republic lasted a thousand years, which is longer than any real-life govt with an arguable exception of China before Mao.
@@ScottBonner I was guessing and as much as I'm a fan don't have time to dig that deep into Star Wars. Dug deep enough to enjoy it and can answer most questions the casual fan could ask. Thanks for the info though. 25,000 years and 75% original parts is of course much more impressive. I continue to learn there's so many levels to Star Wars fandom and you and this channel/ Geetslys, SWT, etc are proof. Now that I finally have more time in life, I look forward to learning more.
Huyang is harsh because he cares. Its Star Wars and in Star Wars robots can have feelings. It's like when a none Americanized parent is hard on their kids for doing poorly in school. It's tough love. People just don't understand this anymore since our real life society has gotten so weak and complacent. Unfortunately. These are my thoughts, and honestly I love Huyang a lot. Dudes a beast when you think about it. Half as old as Yoda and knows all those Jedi secrets, Ahsoka is very fortunate to have him around. Huyang also fills in TONS of real life plot holes, the writers can just use Huyang in a bunch of different ways like they could Yoda of Master Qui-Gon. E.g. ''They are old A.F. therefore they just know stuff'' :p
Its cool to see doctor who in star wars. Its also cool they continued DT role from the cartoon. Sabine is a mando thats pretty bad a.. In its own right
Memory wipe? You could probably do a video on Huyang and whether he has routine memory wipes. He isn't homicidal like Chopper yet we know he has seen combat. If he has had them, how did they intergreat his past so that he wasn't a blank sheet? He talks often about his programing, did the Jedi put in special software to run diagnostics and balance his mind?
pretty sure its because the type of jobs they have, Huyang is a teacher first, so he's that old war vet grandpa with a dry sense of humor. Chopper is just a little psychotic monster because of his job. Don't forget R2 never had a memory wipe, and while he can be AS vicious as Chopper if he really wanted to, he's more caring towards his friends.
Well the voice actor is David Tennant, and he stated that Huyang arrived at the jedi temple in a blue box 22,020 bby 😂.. so maybe he doesn't have a memory wipe due to time lord magic of Doctor Who.. Also should be noted that professor Huyang instructed Yoda , bell zettifar, and mace windu on constructing lightsabers. He's not far off from being as old as the jedi order itself.
Huyang is fantastic! His sly mechanical whitt and sarcastic dry humour brings a strain of c3po for sure, but his own unique personality. And the laughs and twists that is part of starwars' addiction to fans of all ages. And it's been done at exactly the right level to meet Rosaria Dawsons star quality, and that of the actress playing Sabine. All 3 performances from the 3 characters manage that fine line of each being outstanding and in each combination none of them fading into the background.
I would like for the series to explain why Sabine was being trained to be a Jedi by Ahsoka if she was not 'force sensitive' (at least not 'yet'...awaken)? Did it have to with Sabine wanting to be able to protect Lothal in Ezra's absence? Did Ahsoka somehow come to the conclusion that Sabine could wield the Force? Also, I think the Midichlorian thing in Phantom Menace was just a (regretful) piece of 'science' to show that the Jedi weren't 100% just mystic warrior monks, but that they did abide by science to a degree. Perhaps a higher M-count merely makes it easier for one to wield or tap into the Force than someone with a lower count? It's not a DBZ-esque power level thing as we've seen 'powerful M-count' Force users get beat by their 'lessers' simply because their opponent used better tactics.
She is a mandalorian, that why she is struggling. Mandalorians and jedi are has far has apart has you can get. One seeks peace, the other seeks battle, one is a pacifist the other is a warrior, one feels while the other sees, one uses a single blade the other uses every weapon. For a mandalorian to become a jedi they must go against everything they were trained to be. Has such she struggles. But like wise if she fully becomes a jedi she will be one of the strongest.
I wonder if the sword training scene hits different for those of us that have trained Japanese swords with a Japanese teacher. The ones I've studied under have been a blend of the robot and the Jedi. Enough carrot to keep you coming back, and enough stick to make you better.
Sweat and grunt and get corrected and corrected and corrected and corrected, and then in some private moment x-many months in, they say "you did good today".
huyang did comfort sabine softly here and there, he had wheel her back in and talk her into accepting the saber, and accept it as her own, glad he made it here, and the clone wars jokes in ep2 about him, from that arc, (70percent original parts)
Never realized Huyang was a reoccurring character, I just thought the show needed that “mentor and wise one” to train her so they pulled a random droid from a random jedi temple, but now knowing huyang is such an old character it really makes me happy to see them
@@brianberthold3118 I watched clone wars a lot but never have seen every episode. Because I was watching it second hand because my brother had the tv control most the time and all he watched was that. And at the time I wasn’t a Star Wars fan at the time
huyang is if i understand correctly is at least 25,000 or more years old. mandolorians mainly for the most part of star wars history focus on all kinds of combat & weapons training which likely made them to unpredictable to fit in the jedi order from sometime after early creation to before the clone wars. which could explain why very few mandolorians became jedi or sith.
Sabine is a rebel in action and in heart. The way to her improving is to find her limits and motivate her to break them. Put a wall in front of her and she will find a way to go past it. Telling her no motivates her to do the opposite.
Imagine if star wars introduced a new character who was instantly good at everything without any training (cough Rey). That would be a really empty heros journey and hard to connect to them.
Huyang is a relic of a different time and is not compromising in his approach to Padawans even though the times have changed radically. I will push back a little against the idea Sabine is untrained. She is very technically adept and is somewhat adept in combat and diplomacy, especially with Mandalorians but not in a way classically trained Jedi like Ahsoka would be. Assuming they don't have Sabine turn to the dark side (which I do not want) I think the end result of her training will be to be able to use the force to a degree and then augment that with Mandalorian technology, which was partially developed to fight the Jedi.
I think Sabine should have done better with the strikes because of her Mandalorian training. She knows how to handle all types of weapons and fighting styles.
What you said about Anakin isn't exactly true he was more powerful than the rest of his class and he knew it they knew it and they held him back that was the reason for his frustration and when they had the audacity to put him on the Jedi council without making him a master it solidified a lot of things that he felt towards them on top of the fact that they let his mother die.
It only makes perfect sense... If you were Sideous (being the Sith Master and mastermind) and always "seeing things" as tools provided by the Darkside. Grevieous was the dark incarnation and result of him using another Jedi creation against them! Genius on the Siths part, on several levels and train of thought re: the grand plan to 66 really. IMHO, and yeah, I get a chub for well thought out and devilishly executed simple machinations that use lasers and robots and starships and... That's why we are all watching, right?! Long live the Empire! Oh, um, i mean... may the force be with you
we now have had 2 live action shows that showed the purgail, since beings that use the force, see or can see in a slower motion, wonder if that is why and how grogu was able to see em traveling,
Another tidbit he mentioned in regards to his "well being" Huyang stated that he still has 75% of his original parts! We're talking about 2000+ years of continuous functionality and no one is worried about some form of degradation or self awareness type of problem ever happening?! Idk, we'll see! Im exited. L8
I really feel like Sabine is getting the shaft in this show. She is not a child, and she is not weak. She is a Mandalorian warrior, trained as a child to fight with her hands up to heavy equipment, went to the imperial academy, and fought in the rebellion. She grew up on the battlefield. She was not a moisture farmer....
AGREED! It's like Filoni wanted to have a kid character arc, but if so he picked the wrong character. Sabine was a badass in Rebels, in a range of weapons, and was better than this with the Darksaber after only a little training. Kanan told her she was great with a sword already but needed training to adjust to the darksaber. I'm hoping that we have some moment where we find she has been putting up her own mental blocks, lets go, and becomes at least as good at fighting as she was in Rebels.
This story is breaking down into gender rolls. Huyang is developing into the fathers roll, strict firm and honest. All the men are breaking down into the honesty aspect. Stoic and stern, but honest.
Sabine is a Mandalorian and trained as such, went to the Imperial Academy, fought for the Rebellion, and is now being trained as a Jedi. She does not lack education or experience.
@@LahissTeaches the opposite in fact. Huyang sort of implies this when he mentions so few Mandos being Jedi. Rigid militarism seems to be a fairly good way to block out the Force, which is typically portrayed as a living, breathing, intuitive element. Vs militaristic thinking which is detached and calculating.
Bro’s honestly pretty good at fighting. I’m not saying he is better than a sith, but could easily beat those annoying battle droids. In fact, in one episode of clone wars, he says “How dare you! In 500 years I have never lost a fight and I am not going to start now!” He then starts beating the crap out of the person who was shooting at him.
I think Sabine has alot of Force potential, but her upbringing on Mandalor closed her mind to the force, and lean more to tech and logic. So right now she is the worst ever. If she could tap into the mindset needed to use the force it may really take off. The last episode seems to imply that.
Is it just me or is training Sabine to be Jedi a bad idea? Anakin was already too old and yet Qui Gon and Obi Wan still insisted on training him and we all know how that went. Luke was even older when Obi Wan got his hands on him and, while he did bring balance to the Force by converting his dad to help him take out the Emperor, we still watched him botch the training of his nephew and how that ended up for the new Jedi academy. Can we just stop training beings that are too old to become Jedi? It won't bode well.
Kinda seems like the Jedi ways are mainly dangerous to people who have the most raw talent, and then lose their incentive to follow the dogma. Yes, indoctrination from birth helps with that second part, but powerful Jedi raised in it still fall like Dooku and Ben. Sabine is actually a good candidate because not only is she too weak in the force for a Sith to bother with, but her Mandalorian background lends itself well to learning and following a "creed". Especially a creed that values hard work and dedication over prodigy types.
These are all true and yet it doesn't matter. You can be completely untrained and know nothing about the Jedi way, and yet the Force will make you strong, aka Rey. If the Force is with you, you cannot be stopped or defeated. It's a bit of a plot armor cop out. But I agree with you on everything, as it contributes to good character development, rather than Deus Ex Machina.
Droids and robots in a lot of sci-fi movies are actually portrayed having fluid in their eyes that help them see. Even in other things like Fnaf as well, they are stated having “ocular fluid”. It may also just help them look more human.
What I really hate is how hursh and so pessimistic Ahsoka is in this series. In CW and Rebels she was so energetic, kind, positive. How could she become so boring, too serious, imcompassionate lady? Who if not her should know how hard the training is? I also don't understand why Sabine and she couldn't workout together? She had Anakin as her master, who was even more passionate and stubborn than her. Yet he managed to guide Ahsoka and taught her how to use that energy right. He never had problems with that nature of her, because he was like that himself. So why does she acts not like Anakin while being a master, but more like Obiwan, who had to slow down Anakin and they had lots of arguments about it. She just doesn't feel like Ahsoka. And the fact that in the show she doesn't use backhand sabers, lost her speed and flexibility doesn't help. She's now a different character, more like Shaakti or Luminara, but not Ahsoka Tano
Since when? Sabine is already pretty much a given she has very little connection with the force to be able to use it like Jedi or Sith. At most all they are doing is simply allowing her the ability to sense it and use it to allow her to get a sense in battle. That all living creatures has the ability to sense and maybe tap into the force with only true force users being able to manipulate it. So far her and Ashoka has presented no Women are op bs that your saying. Ashoka was trained by Anakin, and Obi-Wan with other male mentors. She still has flaws and weaknesses, makes mistakes and clearly is having connection issues with people. Sabrine is hot headed, clearly doesn't like following rules, and is Mandalorian all her people are pretty much like her. She isn't OP given that well she was wounded, and she's made several mistakes in the past.
She's clearly not OP. She's a mediocre Jedi in training which I think could be an interesting new take! This is not a "Rey" situation. You're overreacting. Now if, in the finally, she suddenly becomes super powerful in the force, then you'll have a point.
Not sure what Huyang has been doing throughout the Imperial era, but probably not his Temple training of younglings, so this might also be the first time he's had to contend with an adult training as a padawan. I don't think Yoda was being hard on Luke in Empire to egg him on in his studies, I think he was really looking at a 18-year-old and wondering WTF he's doing compared to the 18 year old students that used to be on the verge of Knighthood at the Jedi Temple... that's all any former force-user had known. From that standpoint, both Luke and Sabine are utter failures with little connection to the force at that age, but give Luke a few years and he jumped directly to Grand Master-hood. Hell, Sabine has already been key in overthrowing the Empire and liberating Mandalore before beginning her training, so give her until the end of Season 2 and she'll be showing up Asoka.
so, why would there be some hidden reason? Sabine sucks! Giving her a participation trophy will simply reenforce her utter uselessness. Or is Disney against making their "strong female" characters actually have to do hard work to improve their low level skill sets?

Given how lifhtsabers where illegal for over 20 years I'm surprised a droid designed for lightsaber building and training wasn't destroyed
Considering Huyang was still around even thru the end of the Empire, there needs to be context as to why Luke never encountered Huyang in the efforts to build his green lightsaber
Luke never really needed help with that. Obi-Wan left him everything he needed, including a crystal (Qui-Gon's)*.
*Unless you want to go by one of the Disney canon retcons:
- Luke made it artificially using a Sith technique, but with the light side.
- Got it from a weird crystal dealer after ESB
As for parts, lightsabers are technically very simple, being made from the same parts as blasters for the most part. It's just the crystal that's the unique and hard to find part.
Its a big galaxy
Luke would have had literally zero idea huyang was even a thing. He knew only what obi wan and yoda told him about the Jedi. I seriously doubt they mentioned the lightsaber robot to him. Doesn’t really need explaining.
@SigTheSauceMan
The novelization from 1983 mentions he foraged the "focusing crystal" himself out of tools snd parts he found in obiwans home (this was before khyber crystals became canonized) the novelization was written using the original script and story boards, so there are a few things that didn't make it into the film.
Retconing the crystal to be qui gon's would fit the expanded cinematic lore, And makes total sense.
2 reasons
1 he found jokasta’s stash (about 1/5 of the Jedi library standard and higher level records.) and a few other troves so he had all the info he needed
And
2 when he did make his green lightsaber he was stranded on a nihil ship in the middle of a cluster system in flux.
So my thoughts are:
1) He is low key training Ahsoka to be a better teacher.
If she pulls something, it should take alot out of her
agreed at worse the midoclorians is the power level from dbz, basically that thing that exists but over relying on it will result in issues
I LOVE David Tennant's Dr. Whoang! :P
Thanks for the great video! :)
I feel like everyone just forgets what kanaan jarrus says to hera when he is training sabine in the dark saber, he says that she has the ability but is passively choosing not to embrace it because of her mandalorian heritage. (im paraphrasing)
The fact that Huyang is probably 500 years old and is still 75% original parts is insane.
Almost 28x as old as Yoda. Yoda = ~900. Huyang = ~25,000.
And yet if she hadn’t received the pep talk from him during her recovery she may have never continued her training.
The only combat I'm aware of for HuYang was a fight with pirates once, alongside a bunch of padawans and young Ahsoka.
@ScottBonner you are spot on. it's what I was referring to. It's pretty dramatic to see pirates take the children that are under your protection.
Loving The Professor's comedic timing. 😹
Kathleen Kennedy to Sabine: "We will watch your career with great interest." Godammit...
I personally think he is just adopting the most suitable way to train a Mandalorian, by giving her something to prove
Lets not forget that Sabine was trained as a Mandolorian, Sabine is no novice to combat. Mandolorians train to fight as kids just like the Jedi
I love Huyang sooo much but then I am massive fan of David Tenant in the first place :P
You make a great point about how old/new school this series has been.
huyang did comfort sabine softly here and there, he had wheel her back in and talk her into accepting the saber, and accept it as her own, glad he made it here, and the clone wars jokes in ep2 about him, from that arc, (70percent original parts)
Never realized Huyang was a reoccurring character, I just thought the show needed that “mentor and wise one” to train her so they pulled a random droid from a random jedi temple, but now knowing huyang is such an old character it really makes me happy to see them
so you never watched Clone wars ..... sad it was the last good star wars made
Huyang comes off as very Scrooge McDuck in certain ways.
@@brianberthold3118 I watched clone wars a lot but never have seen every episode. Because I was watching it second hand because my brother had the tv control most the time and all he watched was that. And at the time I wasn’t a Star Wars fan at the time
Huyang is the older known character in Star Wars even older than Yoda by many thousands of years so he's the wisest person in the galaxy
WE NEED A Huyang vs grevious
huyang is if i understand correctly is at least 25,000 or more years old. mandolorians mainly for the most part of star wars history focus on all kinds of combat & weapons training which likely made them to unpredictable to fit in the jedi order from sometime after early creation to before the clone wars. which could explain why very few mandolorians became jedi or sith.
Doesn’t this training solve any potential allegations that Sabine was a ‘mary sue’ Jedi.
The best Jedi training: how to B.S. your way out of any storm trooper issues.
Huyang is great because it uses one of the finest actors for the vocal talents. David Tennant is superb.
Sabine is a rebel in action and in heart. The way to her improving is to find her limits and motivate her to break them. Put a wall in front of her and she will find a way to go past it. Telling her no motivates her to do the opposite.
Huyang behaves exactly like a Japanese martial arts sensei.
Excellent Breakdouwn. Huyang is the scene stealer of the show.
Assuming they don't have Sabine turn to the dark side (which I do not want) I think the end result of her training will be to be able to use the force to a degree and then augment that with Mandalorian technology, which was partially developed to fight the Jedi.
at 9:00 you are talking about Luke and his training, I have had the belief that the father's Padawan taught him between ESB and ROTJ........
He is being supportive in his sassy way lol😊
I think Sabine should have done better with the strikes because of her Mandalorian training. She knows how to handle all types of weapons and fighting styles.
Understanding the utility of a droid like Huyang, I feel like he should be far more combat competent considering his experience.
Oh, um, i mean... may the force be with you
Why is he suddenly Hu-Yang now, when he was Huy-Ang in the Clone Wars?
TOmatoes/TomAtoes
Hes also voiced by the 10th Doctor. Just a little side quest. You know how he is. 😂❤
I love Sabine and Hu Yang :).
Therefore Ahsoka replied Huyang, "I don't need Sabine to be a Jedi. I need her to be herself."
Words cant express as much as it okay xD im just so glad Ashoka didnt force pull herself back to the ship
we now have had 2 live action shows that showed the purgail, since beings that use the force, see or can see in a slower motion, wonder if that is why and how grogu was able to see em traveling,
Another tidbit he mentioned in regards to his "well being" Huyang stated that he still has 75% of his original parts! We're talking about 2000+ years of continuous functionality and no one is worried about some form of degradation or self awareness type of problem ever happening?! Idk, we'll see! Im exited. L8
got a debate for you, is yoda from this other galaxy, could make sense, was the purgail in mando,s3 the purgail we ahsoka,
I really feel like Sabine is getting the shaft in this show.
I easily find Huyang more interesting and humourous than C3PO.
Bring midiclorians back!!
They're not gone
Huh… i just assumed it was going to be because he found her just as insufferable as any actual sentient organism would.
This story is breaking down into gender rolls. Huyang is developing into the fathers roll, strict firm and honest. All the men are breaking down into the honesty aspect. Stoic and stern, but honest.
I wonder if this is how the Disney-ification of SW is happening. No room for a sneaky, snarky male role model, like the Empire Strikes Back-era Yoda.
Sabine is a Mandalorian and trained as such, went to the Imperial Academy, fought for the Rebellion, and is now being trained as a Jedi. She does not lack education or experience.
But she does lack education on the Force and Jedi conduct. Mandalorians and Imperium don't teach that.
I hope Disney does the smart thing and retcons the sequal trilogy out of existence
Excellent analysis and explanations!
Does anyone know how Huyang is with Ashoka? How did he survive the fall of the Jedi?
Bro’s honestly pretty good at fighting. I’m not saying he is better than a sith, but could easily beat those annoying battle droids. In fact, in one episode of clone wars, he says “How dare you! In 500 years I have never lost a fight and I am not going to start now!” He then starts beating the crap out of the person who was shooting at him.
Video in a nutshell: He is a strict teacher.
Yes, but who did they use for the voice actor?
David Tennant
I think Sabine has alot of Force potential, but her upbringing on Mandalor closed her mind to the force, and lean more to tech and logic. So right now she is the worst ever. If she could tap into the mindset needed to use the force it may really take off. The last episode seems to imply that.
Tough love is something she does need an training to master her power an for that power to come forth
Because she's trash and Ashoka should stop cuddling her?
Based robot telling the truth. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Like you’d ever get her 😂
I hope we See Sabine Get her Own Darksaber, Even if its A Shoto For Self Defense. I Really hope we get to see Her Build her Own.
That would be cool.
ya, that's my Bot!!
i like it, i also watch it for what it is and just enjoy the story.
If you are a 25000 years old robot, surely you can defeat anyone with ease
I forgot his backstory thanks for sharing
I don't agree that his reason is hidden for being direct with Sabine.
His character tells us that in several ways
I was thinking that she should crush or push the cup
Why does huyang blink?
Ashoka and Andor are great. Better than anything else. Mando is good.
I hope Sabine never develops proper force powers
Why is a droid blinking? So weird.
Droids and robots in a lot of sci-fi movies are actually portrayed having fluid in their eyes that help them see. Even in other things like Fnaf as well, they are stated having “ocular fluid”. It may also just help them look more human.
So they can totally subvert your expectations when she turns out to be god mode girl boss jedi like the rest
Love the series
Impressive
Defiantely like him more than I ever did Chopper.
When it ages like sour milk
2:24 Oh God, please no more, the Felonivers sucks. This is a far as I can go, I'm now exercising my tune out time,. Star wars is done.
Laziest and the worst word of our generation: "literally".
The add for this video actually used the word 15 times...
Legitimately despicable.
So now saben has the force of course she's a women in star wars all of them are op
As if being a Mandalorian isn't enough. No, she has to use "The Force".
@SandraOrtmann1976 it's ridiculous and makes the force irrelevant. Can't wait for the woke final battle
Because he is a robot.
Huyang should be president
