    It's classic "Good Cop Bad Cop" Huyang doesn't hesitate to tell Sabine like it is but he also has a wealth of experience and wisdom to draw from and he shares it freely. He is also a traditionalist working with two very non traditional companions. Ahsoka's role is the good cop who is watching the rookie struggle, knows they will eventually "get it" but has also has seen what happens when training goes wrong. As a Mandalorian Sabine is "attachment" personified. Attached to tradition, Attached to family even attached to her armor. Knowing when to "let go" is NOT something Sabine ever learned and that is a huge hurdle to jump to fully tap into the Light side (Balanced) part of the Force.

    Yes, I'm encouraged that Ahsoka didn't employ Midichlorians as the main decider of Force-sensitivity. Am I the only one who wants to see Huyang engage a lightsaber-wielding enemy with his 4 arms and 25,000 years of Jedi combat training? That would be something incredibly special. I really hope We get to see him make appearances in The Acolyte and the video game, SW: Eclipse. He also needs to interact with some of the characters in the books and comics of The High Republic. I want them to go in the direction of Chirrut Îmwe from Rouge One, a person who clearly posses some connection to the force, but said connection is extremely muted and nowhere near as strong as your average force wielder. They won’t be doing mind tricks or manipulating objects, but their force sensitivity would present itself in other ways

There has been some interesting star wars media where siblings were split apart by the Jedi Order because one of the children displayed better sensitivity to the force. Later down the line the left behind sibling channels their anger/sorrow/whatever to do some damage as a force user. Luke never really needed help with that. Obi-Wan left him everything he needed, including a crystal (Qui-Gon's)*.

      - Luke made it artificially using a Sith technique, but with the light side.
      - Got it from a weird crystal dealer after ESB
      As for parts, lightsabers are technically very simple, being made from the same parts as blasters for the most part. It's just the crystal that's the unique and hard to find part.

    I still dont see the problem with the midoclorians. Its a mere quantification. You will still have people strong with the force and others who are not. If you lose an arm or leg or anything, you lose a connection to the force. As we have seen with Vader.
    Its a way to measure the vague strength with the force. To me , sabine should never be able to force push or pull anything. But maybe feeling presences as she is not adept with the force. If she pulls something, it should take alot out of her

    • @SuperGamefreak18
      @SuperGamefreak18 Год назад +1

      agreed at worse the midoclorians is the power level from dbz, basically that thing that exists but over relying on it will result in issues

    • @AlindBack
      @AlindBack Год назад +5

      To me the Midiclorians are not a "power level" so much as a cheat of sorts. My understanding is that they give a being an innate sense of the Force, which allows that being to basically skip what would take a normal person possibly years or decades of training to master. You could compare it to something like mathematics. Everybody can learn mathematics, and with enough effort anybody can become very proficient, but some people are just wired differently and mathematics just inherently "clicks" for them.
      Where that analogy breaks down, though, is in that a talent for mathematics is not the result of micro organisms existing in your body. But, that brings me to another point. I believe that somebody with a low Midiclorian count that, through hard work and meditation, becomes proficient in the use of the Force would not suffer a loss of that proficiency as greatly as somebody with a high count. Because high count individuals essentially skipped the most fundamental basics, due to the Midiclorians giving them a basic understanding from the get-go, the loss of a significant amount of Midiclorians could majorly impact how they connect with the Force. Only Force users that have dedicated themselves to training and meditation on the Force, such as Qui Gon or Ahsoka might suffer a severed limb with little impact to their connection to the Force.
      I think this is basically how Filoni understands the Force and Midiclorians, and is generally how Lucas tried to lay it out. What I'm not sure of, though, is if Midiclorians work in concert with the will of the Force, or if they are a free agent. We understand that Darth Plagius influenced the Midiclorians to create Anakin, but that then begs the question, was Anakin the will of the Force? And also, since the Force exists outside of time, allowing things like future sight and the World Between Worlds, can we actually take the Prophecy of the Chosen One to be an indication of the will of the Force, or was that just assumed because the Force revealed that the events would happen?
      It's curious, there's so much mystery surrounding the Force, even after all these years, but we, as fans, have latched onto the small snippets of facts that we've been given. And then, with those facts, gone about making assumptions that have lead us all to believe that, whichever assumptions we believe, what we have assumed is the truth of the matter.

    • @mecampbell30
      @mecampbell30 Год назад +2

      The problem with the midoclorian explanation is that it opens up the force to examination by hard sciences. And it doesn't solve the power creep issue. Here's an example: Even the worse Jedi initiate could use a good deal of telekinesis. But even if your midoclorian count was lower than the minimum acceptable for the Jedi, there would still be lots of people who could demonstrate some form of minor telekinesis or foresight.
      Also, you have the problem of biology. Do siblings always need to be equally force sensitive? Can force sensitivity be genetically purged? Could you create a force sensitive clone? Genetically alter someone to be force sensitive?
      Pandora's box has already been opened here so better make the best of it. But I think it makes storytelling harder.

Did it have to with Sabine wanting to be able to protect Lothal in Ezra's absence? Did Ahsoka somehow come to the conclusion that Sabine could wield the Force? Also, I think the Midichlorian thing in Phantom Menace was just a (regretful) piece of 'science' to show that the Jedi weren't 100% just mystic warrior monks, but that they did abide by science to a degree. Perhaps a higher M-count merely makes it easier for one to wield or tap into the Force than someone with a lower count? It's not a DBZ-esque power level thing as we've seen 'powerful M-count' Force users get beat by their 'lessers' simply because their opponent used better tactics.

I will push back a little against the idea Sabine is untrained. She is very technically adept and is somewhat adept in combat and diplomacy, especially with Mandalorians but not in a way classically trained Jedi like Ahsoka would be. Assuming they don't have Sabine turn to the dark side (which I do not want) I think the end result of her training will be to be able to use the force to a degree and then augment that with Mandalorian technology, which was partially developed to fight the Jedi.

    What you said about Anakin isn't exactly true he was more powerful than the rest of his class and he knew it they knew it and they held him back that was the reason for his frustration and when they had the audacity to put him on the Jedi council without making him a master it solidified a lot of things that he felt towards them on top of the fact that they let his mother die.

    If you were Sideous (being the Sith Master and mastermind) and always "seeing things" as tools provided by the Darkside. Grevieous was the dark incarnation and result of him using another Jedi creation against them! Genius on the Siths part, on several levels and train of thought re: the grand plan to 66 really.

    I really feel like Sabine is getting the shaft in this show. She is not a child, and she is not weak. She is a Mandalorian warrior, trained as a child to fight with her hands up to heavy equipment, went to the imperial academy, and fought in the rebellion. She grew up on the battlefield. She was not a moisture farmer....

      AGREED! It's like Filoni wanted to have a kid character arc, but if so he picked the wrong character. Sabine was a badass in Rebels, in a range of weapons, and was better than this with the Darksaber after only a little training. Kanan told her she was great with a sword already but needed training to adjust to the darksaber. I'm hoping that we have some moment where we find she has been putting up her own mental blocks, lets go, and becomes at least as good at fighting as she was in Rebels.

      @@LahissTeaches the opposite in fact. Huyang sort of implies this when he mentions so few Mandos being Jedi. Rigid militarism seems to be a fairly good way to block out the Force, which is typically portrayed as a living, breathing, intuitive element. Vs militaristic thinking which is detached and calculating.

In fact, in one episode of clone wars, he says “How dare you! In 500 years I have never lost a fight and I am not going to start now!” He then starts beating the crap out of the person who was shooting at him.

    I think Sabine has alot of Force potential, but her upbringing on Mandalor closed her mind to the force, and lean more to tech and logic. So right now she is the worst ever. If she could tap into the mindset needed to use the force it may really take off. The last episode seems to imply that.

    Is it just me or is training Sabine to be Jedi a bad idea? Anakin was already too old and yet Qui Gon and Obi Wan still insisted on training him and we all know how that went. Luke was even older when Obi Wan got his hands on him and, while he did bring balance to the Force by converting his dad to help him take out the Emperor, we still watched him botch the training of his nephew and how that ended up for the new Jedi academy. Can we just stop training beings that are too old to become Jedi? It won't bode well.

    • @aawillma
      @aawillma Год назад +2

      Kinda seems like the Jedi ways are mainly dangerous to people who have the most raw talent, and then lose their incentive to follow the dogma. Yes, indoctrination from birth helps with that second part, but powerful Jedi raised in it still fall like Dooku and Ben. Sabine is actually a good candidate because not only is she too weak in the force for a Sith to bother with, but her Mandalorian background lends itself well to learning and following a "creed". Especially a creed that values hard work and dedication over prodigy types.

    These are all true and yet it doesn't matter. You can be completely untrained and know nothing about the Jedi way, and yet the Force will make you strong, aka Rey. If the Force is with you, you cannot be stopped or defeated. It's a bit of a plot armor cop out. But I agree with you on everything, as it contributes to good character development, rather than Deus Ex Machina.

    What I really hate is how hursh and so pessimistic Ahsoka is in this series. In CW and Rebels she was so energetic, kind, positive. How could she become so boring, too serious, imcompassionate lady? Who if not her should know how hard the training is? I also don't understand why Sabine and she couldn't workout together? She had Anakin as her master, who was even more passionate and stubborn than her. Yet he managed to guide Ahsoka and taught her how to use that energy right. He never had problems with that nature of her, because he was like that himself. So why does she acts not like Anakin while being a master, but more like Obiwan, who had to slow down Anakin and they had lots of arguments about it. She just doesn't feel like Ahsoka. And the fact that in the show she doesn't use backhand sabers, lost her speed and flexibility doesn't help. She's now a different character, more like Shaakti or Luminara, but not Ahsoka Tano

      Since when? Sabine is already pretty much a given she has very little connection with the force to be able to use it like Jedi or Sith. At most all they are doing is simply allowing her the ability to sense it and use it to allow her to get a sense in battle. That all living creatures has the ability to sense and maybe tap into the force with only true force users being able to manipulate it. So far her and Ashoka has presented no Women are op bs that your saying.
      Ashoka was trained by Anakin, and Obi-Wan with other male mentors. She still has flaws and weaknesses, makes mistakes and clearly is having connection issues with people.
      Sabrine is hot headed, clearly doesn't like following rules, and is Mandalorian all her people are pretty much like her. She isn't OP given that well she was wounded, and she's made several mistakes in the past.

    • @ChrisAnthonyGiles
      @ChrisAnthonyGiles Год назад

      She's clearly not OP. She's a mediocre Jedi in training which I think could be an interesting new take! This is not a "Rey" situation. You're overreacting.
      Now if, in the finally, she suddenly becomes super powerful in the force, then you'll have a point.

    Not sure what Huyang has been doing throughout the Imperial era, but probably not his Temple training of younglings, so this might also be the first time he's had to contend with an adult training as a padawan. I don't think Yoda was being hard on Luke in Empire to egg him on in his studies, I think he was really looking at a 18-year-old and wondering WTF he's doing compared to the 18 year old students that used to be on the verge of Knighthood at the Jedi Temple... that's all any former force-user had known. From that standpoint, both Luke and Sabine are utter failures with little connection to the force at that age, but give Luke a few years and he jumped directly to Grand Master-hood. Hell, Sabine has already been key in overthrowing the Empire and liberating Mandalore before beginning her training, so give her until the end of Season 2 and she'll be showing up Asoka.

  • @shawncarter5619
