    Editor's Note: My edits were all made to keep the video on one, central topic by editing together relevant commentary from many parts of Hasan's streams to create a storyline that is still followable by the viewer. I also edited in commentary of my own in places, in addition to relevant external information that improves the viewing experience. A lot of edits were made for comedy purposes, or to enhance the comedic timing of certain beats, but never to misrepresent Hasan's point of view.
    If you like my edits, leave a Comment, Like, and Subscribe. It helps a lot, thank you :)

    Mario hasn’t been to a rural town & it shows he wouldn’t last 5 min walking down the street in a rural town in upstate NY without some one yelling a slur, a threat of violence or actual violence. My friends 76 yr old Puerto Rican mother walked a quarter mile to the beach & was told by loud truck driving passing motorists to “go home” twice. It was even in a tourist area. Her son was a gay hair dresser & the things his trump clients would say to him personally were disgusting. “You’re one of the good ones” They acted like since he was a gay hairdresser he was “ok” then they would go on to talk trash about Latino people & gay people. One time they had a community event where everyone made food from a different country. Someone did Puerto Rican food. 🤦🏽‍♀️ He moved back & I don’t blame him one bit. I feel so terrible about how he & his mother were treated. 😢

      I live in Michigan, in a rural town. a lot of people don’t come out as queer or trans until they move away because it’s a small town where people talk. I’m out publicly and no one has said anything to my face (besides in a nearby town where I got called a slur in the parking lot)- but that doesn’t mean they’re not thinking anything.
      I’m lucky to pass as a cis man for the most part. and I’m also a public figure. I have to speak to people, and is it in the back of my head constantly where I wonder if this person im speaking to is an ally or not? Yes.

    It annoys me so much whenever intersex people are brought up and the response is just 'theyre rare'. Trans people are also rare yet you have no issue having very vocal opinions about them. Intersex people existing just complicates their views so they try to shoo it away and not think about it. Im a bisexual trans man on the asexual spectrum with an intersex condition and i know many people with similar identities we're not that easy to categorise and separate.

    Pride started as a protest called the Stonewall Riots which happened because Police tried to raid the Stonewall Inn in New York. Pride Month honours those who were part of the most important gay rights protests and is a reminder that Pride can still fight for our rights. It wasn’t until 1999 that June officially became Pride Month in the USA. It has since grown into a massive celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community.

      In fairness I kinda understand where they are coming from. Like I would rather have 20 murderers go free and kill someone than one innocent dude go to prison.

    • @iswearimcoolguys
      @iswearimcoolguys Год назад +33

      @@aperson1092 Just cause we understand the thought process, doesn't mean it's worth any salt. It's a highly flawed logic to make a comparison of murderers to trans people. While I know this argument wasn't in this video, I think it's important to shut down that sort of framing outright. A medical transition is a long process for any age; there's so many steps to go through, it can take years for someone to go on hormones, let alone have surgery. The idea that there are random kids being forced into transitioning as quickly as possible or that gender affirming surgeries are happening to minors en masse is flat out false, regardless of if you see the logic in where they are coming from or not. Seriously, this comparison should not be made nor even entertained. All it does is play into logical fallacies with anecdotal evidence and loaded questions.

    • @aperson1092
      @aperson1092 Год назад +1

      @@iswearimcoolguys No I mean I’m fine with trans stuff and all that, I just think saying “20 People Happy > 1 Person not being Unhappy” is a flawed argument because it doesn’t take into to account the degree of that happiness/unhappiness, and that’s a whole moral debate that’s confusing and a mess and no one wants to deal with.
      The most effective argument for trans stuff is really who cares. Do what you want I don’t give a crap. They probably won’t mess up from a statistical view, but if they are the 1/100 or whatever odds it is then like I feel bad, but it’s kinda on them.

      Your "polyamory=gay" thing is just typical straight stereotype. I don't see the difference betwen a polyamorous relation and a Serial-monogamous relation that last every few months. The only difference is how they regard the acceptable social norm; one is more blunt and disregard it, others find their ways to make peace with what society consider correct and find other ways to practice a not so monogamous way of life: swinger parties, serial-monogamy, cheating, etc.

      As for your point about people that like the monogamy model, but don't stay within its confines, yes that happens. I don't look at it as evidence that monogamy doesn't work. I look at it as evidence that people are flawed and have commitment issues.
      I'll admit it's hard to find a difference between a serial monogamist and a polyamorous person, but what commitment looks like is probably framed differently.

So how is it okay for children to consent to gender affirming care? If you think they have the maturity and life experience to consent to this then what about, say.. sex? What about smoking? I’d love to know. I find it psychotic that people think it is okay to mutitlate and give hormones to literal fucking children but that’s just me. Cis girls (minors) can get breast reduction or enlargement, but a trans boy can’t get his breasts removed (or even reduced)? When the regret rate for cis women’s breast altering surgery is much much higher than trans men’s top surgery. And if he can get surgery, he has to go through doctors and doctors and psychologists and therapy, where the cis girl does not? And you would say even that is not sure enough, even then with all of those professionals giving their input, who know much more than you, he shouldn’t be able to receive GAC. Children getting hormone therapy or especially gcs just doesn’t really happen in reality.
      This reads as pretty transphobic. Especially when you say that it’s psychotic to give children hormones and that gender confirming surgery is “mutilation”. Would you ever call any other surgery mutilation? To hopefully give a little perspective to trans people being forced to go through puberty is mutilation. Also l comparing gcs to cutting off a finger is so weird. One serves no purpose and is inherently crazy and the other has medical science to back it up. • @GhostRS3411
      @GhostRS3411 Год назад

      I would argue it isn't just a "me" problem but also of society in general. When it comes to the clothes we wear, we are presenting ourselves for a given context with the underlying sentiment of what we wear showing how much we respect others around us and in what way. In perhaps the most ideal utopian world, clothes would have no value with every person essentially naked. Over human history, clothes has had practical and prestige value attached to it with what you wear revealing to others your socioeconomic status, your values, your health and your intelligence among many other things to varying degrees. For first impressions, someone who is naked during the winter is usually seen as a madman while someone in a suit is seen as inherently more respectable and intelligent in most circumstances. It is not that a person naked during the winter is always crazy or that someone in a suit has intelligence but we are more inclined to believe so due to personal experiences and collective cumulative experience. On a surface level, clothes standards for specific contexts exist to separate people of relatively sound/relevant mind, the in-group, to those who are clearly not at a given time, the out-group (at least pertaining to the context's objectives). Moreover, clothes offer the comfort of privacy and can act as a safety net. Ideally, the individual should not have to suffer for what society does just as much as society should not suffer from what the individual does.
      The question for society is ultimately should we have public decency standards? If yes we should, how do we define public decency for different contexts while reducing potential malicious/undesired actions? Do we expose people to so much "public indecency" that perceived maliciousness seemingly fades away or do we cover everything up for everyone's perceived safety and peace of mind? Is it as simple as having rules and can these rules be feasibly enforced? Both means intend to equalize every person in the eyes of the common person but they fail to effectively remove what was undesired: people with actual bad intentions. The commonly accepted compromise is that we wear clothes that fits the given context and does not stray too far. However, a small number of people with ulterior motives/intentions who may or may not have social/political influence always manage to ruin it for everyone else by stirring up the hornet's nest in a figurative sense. They may not even be aware of their bad intentions: the worst case scenario. I can elaborate more but this has become a long rant so I'll leave it at that.

But in this day and age it seems like so few people of any gender or sexuality want a relationship monogamous or polyamorous ! Most people especially in my age group (20’s) seem to just want fwbs , booty calls, f*ck buddies,etc! The only ppl who seem to want a relationship are either already in one , 35+ years old, too far away, or just not compatible with me. I remember when I was a teen most everyone wanted a relationship! But once I became an adult finding anyone who wanted a relationship is super rare and I honestly don’t really get why. I’ve heard a few reasons but still. I don’t understand why most everyone one day decided they didn’t want a partner, love , commitment, romance,etc. I would understand if it was like 60% of single ppl want a relationship and 40% don’t. But it feels like 5% want a relationship and 95% don’t.

    I used to go to gay bars with my ex (we were a straight couple) years ago. Their bars are setup WAY better than straight bars. The dance floor is loud but when you go to the bar it's quiet so you can talk. This one place I went to had pencils and blank business cards so you could give hot guys your phone number. I was like, "man these bar owners actually want you to be able to get laid!" lol

    I really like how graceful the liberal side seems toward the conservative gay experience. "I'm happy for you that that is your experience, but I think you are privileged in that sense as that is not the experience of most gay people in America." What a succinct and validating way of telling someone that they are missing the point.

    I feel like they're ignoring genuinely valid points from the conservative side just to own them. My Brother's husband would literally cry because it was nearly impossible to find another monogamous gay who was willing to commit to a long term relationship in New York, because there aren't a lot of options for gay men to find other gay men without sex being an expectation, or more often, the reason for the relationship. Finding people who are looking for something more than casual hookups is a genuine challenge even for good looking dudes with good jobs, good friends, etc. Laughing at them and insisting that's not the case because it wasn't your personal experience is not productive.

    I'm a trans teenager, and I don't know anybody who regrets transitioning. I do know that almost every single friend of mine who is trans has suffered from suicidal thoughts related to not being able to begin their transition either legally, socially, or medically, and one friend of mine is dead because he couldn't live any longer in a body he hated. You can say that you'll wait until they are 18, but these laws make it even harder for trans kids to live that long, it's disgusting and I hope the people who believe in those things will live long enough to feel ashamed.

    "I dont know if were meant to be monogamous" is the most honest, accurate, way to state that sentiment. Even the most successful evolutionary biologists would agree. From a reproduction perspective, polygamy would be more fruitful for the species. From a social perspective, we are highly social creatures, monogamy would be useful for social relationships. The argument of how we're "meant to be" means nothing unless one can prove intelligent design. We are who we are. Nature isnt black and white. All we can do is live and let live. As long as you arent hurting anybody against their will, its none of my business what choices you make.

    gay people who don't see the parallels between our worst oppression and the current oppression of trans people are just intentionally refusing to see things for what they are. they also act like conversatives won't just turn around and do the same again to us when given the chance. like conservatives still hate us, it's just not as "PC" to be overtly homophobic now (although I fear that's changing again for the worse). solidarity with our trans siblings is the only way forward

    "having trans and gay people under the same umbrella/acronym is confusing" ... no...no it's not lmao, the issue is people being uneducated, not the acronym itself. most people understand the difference between gay,bisexual, and lesbian even though they are grouped together. people understand the differences between Black and Indigenous identities despite the BIPOC acryonym like, it's a community of people sharing similar experiences, that doesn't mean they're all the same. you can't blame an acronym. god dude i wanna scream at these mfs
