  • On Friday I remembered there was a Ludum Dare coming up. I checked and it was starting in a couple hours, so I decided to join last minute! I made Moonrabbit Collection in 15 hours of work (within the 48 hours of the Ludum Dare compo category) with the theme of delivery. It's made with Python, Pygame, and ModernGL. I livestreamed almost the whole thing on this channel.

    I got excited every time I saw a notification that you were streaming. The streams are really fun because of the amount of progress you make, the influence on the game and the occasional Q&A. Before the game jam I almost lost all motivation on my game, but seeing you do these things so fast gave me all my motivation back. I really love your game jam games, hope you could do more streams like this!

    Awesome video! I’m working on my first pygame project as well. Trying to make an infinitely looped star wars themed space shooter with animations but it feels like so much work when you are learning 😅

    That's awesome tbh, but can you make series that covers opengl more because the one video you uploaded didn't cover the whole topic well.

      LMMS is pretty decent. I used it for a while. The main issue is just that it doesn't support VST3.

    please can you advise me? I have a lot of dependencies on screen resolution, which are set in my settings file. All calculations are based on these settings, but is it right to do this? suddenly then during the game the player will change the resolution and then everything will move out. or am I wrong? can then calculate all dependencies through get_size on the screen? or does it matter?

    Is there much difference yet?

      I pulled it off of lospec then modified it. The easiest solution is to just use an existing palette. I also have a video about colors.

  • @soupnoodles
    @soupnoodles Год назад

    lmao you say "made in under 48 hours" but literally 90% of the game is from all your other projects, the vfx, collisions, particles, grass and even some assets and what not

    • @DaFluffyPotato
      @DaFluffyPotato  Год назад +2

      99% of the code in most game jam games comes from the engine rather than being written by the developer. That's literally how you're supposed to make games. Bruh. 💀
      The only reused assets were particle/lighting masks (same as any game engine) and the grass which was heavily modified.
