Hello nice video I bought a Camry xse v6 2024 And the dealership they told me the car need the oil change every 10k miles And I think that’s too many miles for oil change What do you think about it
We have 2023 Toyota Camry LE. Our Dealer told us no need to change oil till 10,000 miles but I'm changing at 5,700. Supposedly they will do it free at 10,000 but they wanted me to pay them $121.00 to do it now. Is the wrench size for the L.E. same as you showed here 10 mm and 14 mm for the plate removal? Probably right 👍.
Sounds about right..toyota care is every 10k I felt same way and paid 2 have ot done about 5k. I believe it was around $100 out the door 4 the oil change I paid 4. Material I purchased through amsoil was about $60 I haven't worked on the LE however I would be very surprised if anything were any different as long as it's the 2.5 motor..keep me posted
@@Turnersspeedshop 👍 Thanks 🙏 I sure will. Today I bought a 5 Quart Bottle of Mobil br... Synthetic 0W-16 at Walmart for $26.75 plus tax, and a Toyota/Lexus br...Oil filter at a different Walmart for $7.79 aprox., Plus I bought a metal "cup-style" cheap oil filter wrench at Advance Auto Parts for about $7.75 plus tax, and my neighbor lady has two black plastic ramps she'll loan me. I already have a black 2 or 3 gallon oil drain pan, like they sell at Walmart/Advance Auto...so I'm set to change my oil for less than about $50.00 plus or minus! And over the long haul, knowing how to change it myself, not having to wait for an appointment at Toyota svc, and being able to reuse the 1. Wrench, 2. Oil drain pan and 3. Ramps over and over make it well worth the investment! Additionally I could start a small business (by email appt only!) And have a long line of Toyota or Camry owners who don't want to get their hands dirty, waiting to pay me, with great 😃👍 joy! About 35 percent to 50 percent less than Toyota charges! 😜🤗
The former head engine maker for Nissan says to change the oil every 2000 miles. He said that's when oil actually starts to break down and engine wear begins. My home dealership says every 5K miles, so that's a little comforting. I just bought a 2024 Camry SE, and I'm doing a new engine 1K mile oil change then its every 2K after that. One thing, Toyota has very specific additives to their oil. It's made by Mobile, but it's totally different due to the addition of these additives. There's a great oil breakdown video here on RUclips that shows the difference in Toyota, Mobil, Penzoil, and another brand.
@@Turnersspeedshop also, there's a great lab analysis video on Toyota's OEM oil alongside Mobil 1, Penzoil and Amsoil. Toyota's OEM oil has nearly 4 times the amount of dry lubrication additives than Amsoil and double of a few more additives. Yes, it's base is Mobil oil but the additives Toyota engineers have added to it make a difference. I'm pretty sure if you type in Toyota OEM oil analysis, the video will be one of the first results. The guy doing the video has a bit of an accent.
@@Turnersspeedshopthat Toyota certified mechanic on YT "Car care nut" says to always use the 0w-16 due to this engine being designed specifically using that weight. He said anything else will cause issues down the line. I get 6 pack cases from Amazon for just over $50. My dealership here in Ohio sales it for just over $7 a quart. The website lists it as not available because it cannot be shipped, you must go in to pick it up. Some sort of new restrictions on shipping petroleum based products.
Great video! Very helpful, but I have to ask something unrelated, how’d yall get red gauges on the dash? Mine are white with no obvious way to change the color. Thank you!
Hmmm. I guess I have no idea lol I'll mess with it later see of I can figure it out and let u know I do vaguely remember something in the infotainment system allowed us 2 change the color of the car displayed in the camera system I wonder if it also changes the gauges? I really just don't remember but I'll see what I can figure out & get back with ya

I have a 2024 Toyota XSE 2.5 Engine just read the manual and the cabin filter says to have arrow pointing up I see you put it with the arrow pointing down. Which is correct? Thanks
Depends if your running a factory filter or aftermarket. Plastic door, tray amd genuine Toyota filters all have arrows pointing up as 2 wich side goes up. The filter I used and a lot of aftermarket filters have the arrow indicating direction of airflow ( wichbos top 2 bottom) instead of indicating woch side is top or bottom. Hopefully that makes since. Basically the arrows are not indicathe same thing on genuine vs aftermarket filter. 2 make ot easier charcoal side of filter should be on top.
Got a quick question I am hoping someone could and will answer. I see in this video you are using a Hydraulic Jack and Jack stands. Is there enough clearance on these newer Toyota Camrys to use drive up ramps. I am about to give our new 2024 Camry SE its first oil change. It the first foreign car I ever purchased and I go way back at 73 years old buying Cars,Vans and Trucks. Actually at 73 years old I shouldn’t be working on my back anymore on a car. It is not so easy anymore. I thought I had that covered being at around 41 years old noticing a few things as I was getting older I installed a 9000 lb above ground Car lift in my 42’x 60’ Morton Pole Building in 1992 a year after I had it built. That said it has saved my back but right now the lift area is tied up in my barn being I have a Classic Car sitting in the lift area that I can’t move so I am thinking about my old pair of drive up steel Car Ramps that served me well for years. I figured let me ask someone because I do have floor jacks back there and Jack Stands also.
I change my own oil and Im able to use ramps I have a 22camry se nightshade so my trim is pretty low I use the rhino ramps I bought at Walmart I believe they work good and the price isn’t too bad compared to jacks
I have a 2024 Camry XSE and use the highest capacity Rhino ramps and it does just clear the lower front bumper. I don’t use my skid shield anymore as I’m on dryer weather in AZ. with little rain. Well at 70 years old myself it makes oil changes a snap.
I recently purchased a 2024 Camry SE 2.5L for my wife in November of 2023. I have been keeping an eye on the oil and it still looks clean on the dipstick. The car has about 3500 miles on it at present. I want the oil changed at no more than 5000 miles. I am due a Few Free Old Changes and Filter change maintenance from what I understand but read somewhere that Toyota will not change your oil at 5000 miles. Do you know if this is true? You mentioned about the service light on your car. Can you tell me at what mileage should I expect it to come on. I have always done my own oil changes on all my vehicles and Classic Cars going back to the late 1960’s believe it or not. If that is the case I will change the oil myself at 5000 miles. I am curious to your thoughts on it?
I know the toyota care program is 10k miles. That's what dealership gave us for 2 years when we purchased the car from what I have seen that seems pretty standard. I have heard people in some of the social media groups say their dealership does every 5k. May depend on service advisor? May be worth asking. The maintenance indicator is scheduled 2 come on every 5k 4 service. According toyot the first 5k interval is a tire rotation fluid check ect. The next 5k is the oil change & tire rotation. And so on. Hope that makes since. I Have been curious 2 do an oil analysis at 5k and again at 10k miles 4 my own curiosity. Wife packs miles on faster than I can keep up most of my changes have been around 7- 10k miles, little motor runs pretty clean oil still visually looks good
I just bought a new Camry myself. My Toyota dealer "services" the car every 5,000 miles. BUT they only change the oil every 10,000 miles. At the 5,000...15,000 etc. service appointments they only rotate tires and do a visual inspection of the engine for anything that may need attention.
@@Mitch2009 I decided I will change the oil and filter myself at 5,000 miles and wait to 10,000 miles to bring it in for the dealers first oil change and inspection. I have purchased new cars in the past where once I purchased the car I never brought it back unless there was a recall or a part went bad under factory warranty.
