  • Do you remember those prehistoric wood kits as a child? They were pretty clever, with wooden pieces you would push out from a template, and then fit together to create a dinosaurs skeleton. I’ve often wished someone would make an updated version. Well, my wish came true.
    Wonder Artistic Models is a Chilean company that sells woodkits of prehistoric fauna skeletons you can build out - with a couple of special distinctions. First, the anatomical accuracy they are able to create out of flat pieces of wood is amazing. Second, the artistry of the wood pieces themselves and how it all comes together, is makes for something that is a combination of both art, and science.
    Wonder Artistic Models has models of many genera, and in this video we have a brief look at the idea behind these wood kits, and then a review of what must be the first choice of any dinosaur and/ or woodkit lover - The 1:20 Deluxe Tyrannosaurus Rex.
    It looks great from any angle, and the three dimensionality of it gives me the same feeling when I first saw an image of a T Rex skeleton. I’m really happy to have this marvellous piece, and it’s big too!

      Thank you Colton! What WAM has done is really incredible. Not only did they do something I've always hoped a company would do, they chose to do it in the best way they could. Especially this deluxe version, you really realize why it's called "deluxe" 😁

      Pure genius is right! This one is a must although it's a deluxe version and so quite a lot more complex than their other offerings, but you can see how near accurate as possible these are. Just really happy with this purchase. And it should cost you less to ship to the States too!

      Amazing models you have! I would have definitely gotten the mammoth if I could squeeze it into the shipping cost! Alas, it pushed me into the next shipping bracket 😥 I'm not even really interested in mammoths, that's how good the model is. I love how they use so many rings to create a three dimentional appearance in the tusks and the two poses are awesome!

      Thank you! I happen to love wood kits and other building toys, and couldn't believe it when I learnt of Wonder Artistic Models. In fact the Tyrannosaurus rex is the largest land predator to ever existed.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  Год назад +1

      We can't really know that for sure. But based on what we do have, until proven otherwise, T Rex _is_ the most powerful predator ever. Just look at the contruction of the skull and those teeth, and also that thick-neck. Length estimates of other megapredators like Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus have been revised downwards with newer estimation methods.

    Once again, great review! Was not expecting a review of this, but boy am I glad! I was hooked when I first saw these models, a while back. I love building things too, even if I'm not very good at it. I have the wood kits of course, including some UGears, a couple of 3D puzzles, and surprisingly even though I never played Legos as a child, I recently received one for my birthday.

Acenntens in the Future.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  2 года назад

      Good day Shawn! I will have to see some renders closer to the finalised form to decide. I'm guessing that it would definitely make an accurate T Rex, given EoFauna's track record. Obviously, any attempt to create an T _imperator_ would not be too different given the flimsy diagnosis put up in the paper, except for different levels of gracileness.
      I'm still hoping for that E annectens that's for sure!

    2:11 Tyrannosaurus rex is bigger than giganotosaurus or spinosaurus.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  Год назад +2

      In terms of length it's certainly the one that has the most solid evidence for dimensions, and in any case, even if Giganotosaurus or Spinosaurus was longer, T Rex was certainly the more powerful. Just look at robustness of that skull. It''s always the thickness, not just the length 😊

      Yes, this unfortunately is an adult item, and as you can see, definitely not the children's model kits we might have had as children. You can see the level of complexity and detail on this thing, as well as the sheer artistry of it. I believe they have a sale on, or also first timer discounts at the moment. Useless, from my point of view, because they don't ship to my country (or most others). I would have loved to support them, because their models are simply wonderful, and I want at least one. (The Dimetrodon I absolutely want!) Great review, though, for sure. As always :-)

      Hi JB! Which country would you like us to ship to? If you tell us, we will arrange to add it to our shipping options.
      We are a small but growing company, and little by little we are increasing the list of receiving countries :)

      Thank you for your support as always! I really enjoyed doing this review, since it's a product I've really wished existed for the longest time. I like artistry and everything from the model itself to the packaging, even the labels, you can see they chose to do _quality_ and not skimp on anything. That Dimetrodon is fantastic and I am really impressed by the mammoth, and that's an animal I was never too interested in!
      Also, they didn't ship to where I am too, but when I wrote in they made the necessary arrangements. They're a pretty young company and with the situation going on in the world right now, so expect some growing pains. Write to them and talk with them.
