What worked for my 51 year old diabetic mother is. 1) Removed processed grain like white rice, Wheat flour, potatoes and sugar completely from diet. Instead go for millets and barley.( Low GI food) 2) 90 minutes of walking + cycling everyday. 3) Not eating anything before 11 AM and after 8 PM.( Intermittent fasting) 4) Include chia seeds, walnuts and flax seeds in daily diet.(Omega-3) 5) Eat 1 small bowl of thoroughly cleaned salad then eat food. Got rid of all insulin, statins, metformin and blood thinners in 3 months. HbA1C down to 5.8 from 10.7. No body pain or neuropathic issues anymore.

I don’t understand why we need these kind of expensive dietician all the time, our grandmothers time, everything was simple. Why on earth now we need consult them, our body has its own intelligence, just 3 things which are simple and non expensive do : Fast( every week) Eat 2 meals without snacking Walk walk walk walk walk, 7 - 8 kms per day

Eat complex carbs whenever you are not able to get enough protein and other micronutrients. Simple carbs such as wheat are not bad in moderate amounts. Try to consume lot of fruits/veggies to keep you full.
