I scooped the G425 2hybrid for a steal and it rips stingers ! I've always struggled with a bad slice with my driver but can really stripe my irons for whatever reason haha. I'm feeling great off the tee box now with this thing in my bag
Had a go with one of these during an iron gapping session, the pro suggested if for the top end of the bag as the i525’s I had purchased stopped at 5 iron. To say it feels solid is an understatement, feels properly powerful. I ended up getting the 3 hybrid and so far it’s a belter. Would recommend

I just bought an old callaway big bertha heavenwood 1 hybrid 14°. Can't wait for it to come in and try it out. I got it since I can't hit a wood for the life of me, and sometimes my driver doesn't work out, so I'm really excited to try it.
Good idea James. I already have a Ping G 425 # 2 hybrid. I left in on 17 degrees and its quite the weapon. I am looking for another and will loft it at 15.5 . I already use the 17 degree one off the tee with great results.
Good stuff James, I had an 17° M3 hybrid which I had lofted down to 15.5° much preferred it to a fairway wood and it was a monster off the tee on a links course!
Hi, is it still a beast? Do you use just off the tee? I'm just trying to establish if a c.90 driver swing speed could actually get a 15.5 degree lofted hybrid into the air? Yes, it's an inch longer than my 4H, but I LOVE it, and certainly have no problem whatsoever getting that in the air lol!!!
@@andrewferguson1013 still a beast for sure. Mostly hit off the tee but can be played off the fairway and a 90,% driver swing will get it airborne, if that's what you mean.
@@jimmahT Hi, yes, I meant if a c.90 mph driver swing will be able to get the Ping 2H airborne!? As you can appreciate I'm sure, the other concern is that it won't go much further than the Ping 4H I have, which I absolutely love!? 😝

May I suggest the Callaway Utility Wood (UW) from last year at 17 degrees? Not adjustable but an absolutely wonderful club. Can be purchased off the Callaway pre-owned site.
First time I hit a hybrid in 20 years was today with this club and hit first few shots straight over 200 yard carry with the 22 degree. Phenomenal club swinging it like an iron
I've had thie g425 2 hybrid since 2021, love it, i don't have real high swing speed so i use it off the deck for 200 yard shots. I can hit it high or low. Its amazing but i didn't start good with it. I wish i had a regular shaft though instead of a stiff but luckily i can still hit it straight.
Waiting for mine to arrive! bought it for the exact reasons you have mentioned in this video so this is a perfect video for me and has made my decision that much better
00:46 | You had it set to 15.5 degrees, not 15. Technically it would be a '1.5 hybrid', as it's between the loft of a one and two hybrid. That's IF your dynamic loft changed at impact based on your setup and swing characteristics etc etc.
I have a 3wood and 2hybrid - a Mizuno CLK at standard 16 deg loft. It’s an absolute rocket when struck properly. Goes about 260 yards total and I more often in my bag than the 3W. Especially if it’s windy, because it has a lower piercing flight than the 3wood. The shorter shaft also makes it easier to hit
Just started using a Ping G410 3 hybrid with excellent results going same distance as 7 wood but much lower flight. Not sure whether to add a 2 hybrid or whether it would be too low launch for me with just under 80mph club head speed and regular shaft.
Got the Ping g425 3 hybrid and it's the first I feel comfortable hitting with the flat setting. Otherwise they are all too upright and struggle to make good contact. Probably should've buy a 5 wood but this G425 hybrid is so easy to hit.
I have the club - its a beast. Set at 16 deg, with weights set to draw. It just goes dead straight like a missile. Can set it to fade settings and it does work for different shot shapes
i have an hybrid3 ping g425 and it is the best club i have in my bag i can use it on the tee for 200+m fairway finder, for second shot par 5 , for 100m punch recovery shot , around the green like a powerfull putter
Great video. Bought and had to return a Ping G430 4-hybrid because the face was not set correctly into the club head. The face was set in a mm too deep and this created a hard edge above the last groove of the face. Was the face to club head smooth on the hybrid you were testing?
Hi James. what would you recommend out of this or the stealth 2 HD 3 wood , i play off 18 and have a slow swing and can currently hit my 3 wood 180 meters
This makes me think about how I rarely see an am or rec golfer who can demonstrate proper use and shots gained with driver. I hit driver only when the landing area is the widest (lack of trouble) part of the hole, otherwise 2 hybrid every time.
As others have asked, would an average swing-speed player struggle with such a low lofted hybrid? I love my 4H, so very tempted by a 2H, as just can't get on with actual FW woods!?
I think slow stingers would struggle. I love my 6, 5 and 4h but only use the 3h for low shots when I need to go under something. My driver speed is around 84mph
@@TheflyingkiwiRC Hi, my driver swing speed is early 90s, so if this 2H could get me c.210 carry on most shots, especially off the tee, I think I'd take a punt lol!!!
@@besticandogolf5901 Hi, haven't tested it yet actually! Months have now passed, and still not getting on with my driver!! In all honesty, and I feel embarrassed saying this, I still tee off with my G425 4H on most Par 4s and 5s! I'm probably averaging total of between 180 and 220 yards, depending on wind of course etc!
