Shane's solution is better public transport😂😂😂😂a metro in this city "Dublin"😂😂they can't police the streets how are they going to police and underground metro😂😂😂
The only way that LUAS even remotely is usable by ordinary law-abiding people is the presence of heavily built mostly Eastern European security personnel, probably hired at great cost by the operator, paid by the taxpayer and fare payer to keep the less law abiding people at bay. Having more police would be great but the force cannot attract enough new recruits as it is. The Metro will cost 10 times the price it was quoted at and will take 20 years to build its been in the planning stages for over 30 years and the government paid 300 million for consultancy the luas works great in dublin cheap to build and fast why there never a luas to the airport and swords is baffling

@@irishjoed lol I don't think it's that deep man. I studied my masters in urban planning, my thesis was around the Dutch city centres and the ease and practicality of walking, cycling and accessing public transport and how it opens so much more space for people. Dublin lacks that ambition but it does make for a really high quality of life. I don't want to be rude but I think this hesitation is just because people by the the time they're in their late 30s or early 40s get set in their ways and don't like the concept of change. So they look for an excuse to bat away alternative ideas. Labelling it a conspiracy theory is sort of mad, but I guess we all need a hobbie.
Paris has got really bad it is worse than dublin. I was there 6 years ago and it was amazing, I was there again 6 months ago and it was terrible, the number of people harassing you on the street was crazy and they weren't French.
Yes, I went to Paris in 1981 and always planned to return. No way now. I lived in Dublin from 2000 to 2003 and loved it. I felt safe, it was friendly and a pleasure to live in. Now I wouldn't touch it. Its not my Dublin any more its dodgy city.
From the US, and first time back since 2018, and both my wife and I thought Dublin has gone way down hill. Not sure of who runs things here, but in America the liberals have destroyed the big cities (NYC, Chicago, Boston, LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, etc….)
Private, Corporate, For Profit Newstalk, the Station of the FG, Anglo, Southside Wealth Belt, is very concerned with 'antisocial behaviour'. But not so much about State, Builderberg orchestrated two tier property based Social Apartheid, forced homelessness where just 2.6% of the population [130k farmers and Big House Estates} own and control 90% of the State's land bank. Where 3.6 million Irish Citizens occupy dwellings they do not own themselves and where after 100 years sharing Leinster House, FGFF still preserve the ancient 1170-2024, British Imperial Absentee Landlordism System of farming human beings as tenant livestock, as Ireland's 'Government Housing Policy'. Cheeses Priced!
I think buses for whites and buses for black and brown, public transport, i hate to say it, but make people fearful living in ireland and taking transport with the migrants, especially when they are not vetted.
Just back from a solo visit to Malaga. Clean, friendly laid back, and safe. Saw 2 tents. And then i thought of our capital city and felt very very sad....
The cognitive dissonance coming from you is almost palpable. Go into O'Connell Street at night and then say that. It's not the only problem, but to dismiss it is disingenuous. The Government can't keep up with the home grown problems but deem it fine to bring in mass undocumented immigrants. We've seen the results on the continent and ignored the warning signs. Now we're finally feeling the effects here, and we have useful idiots bleating the same nonsense as yourself.
Utter nonsense. Male migrants everywhere is very intimidating. You do know they are attacking women and trying to nab little kids? Fact. Look it all up. Evidence is clear as day. Courts cases records etc. Rte wont tell you this though of course as they cover it up for the Govt.
Yeah an improvement in the public transport would be massive. Encourage more apartment building, walking and cycling initiatives just like London, Paris and Vienna is doing. The increase in Garda presence would be great but I think some more fundamental work needs to be done long term to stop the stream of social issues coming out of areas like East Wall or Sheriff Street onto the city centre. Having guards will deter crime short term but it won't fix the root problem. There is sadly a lot of negativity in Dublin, coupled now with racism and plain stupidity. A bit of pragmatism amongst everyone would go a long way.
