That's just Puritan thought for the modern day. I remember reading a speech from the colonial days that's titled, "Sinners In the Hands of an Angry God." It's actually quite frightening, even if you don't believe a word of it. The preacher who made it used symbolism like God aiming a bow at you, ready to strike you down into that great pit of fire at the slightest sin, and only his mercy being the reason why he doesn't just go ahead and release the arrow. Even when I was a Christian, I could never believe in a God so evil. I'd take infinite punishment before I'd suck up to him.

For anyone wondering, the whole screaming for Bill skit is shot for shot a reference to an obscure Looney Tunes short called "The Aristo-Cat". That genuinely caught me off guard that I knew that
As a Looney Tunes fanatic I immediately caught it once he started backing into a corner and did the "Good Grief! I'm all alone! Who will take care of me? I'll starve to death!" line from the short--as well as those vivid red and white backgrounds.
Now I have to search for that. The joke wasn't funny here.
Again, that's because it's a rather lesser known short that not as many people know about.

I don't remember who said this (another reviewer here on RUclips), but he said that he went to see this in the theater for reviewing purposes. He was basically the only adult there who wasn't a parent, and just happened to be sitting next to a 5 year-old who came to the movie. The 5 year-old kid SIGHED IN ANNOYANCE while watching the movie! As if he completely regretted asking his parents to take him to see it! That's how bad this movie is, it makes 5 year-olds regret their life choices!!

honestly, I'm so stunned that Nostalgia Critic has gone on for this long. I remember when people were freaking out over the new changes, when the wall was yellow, when Rachel was on the show and Tamara took over midway through Nicolas Cage month.
To say that this has influenced my style of comedy is a grand understatement. To say that I eagerly wait every Wednesday for an episode is ver batum the truth, as is saying that I enjoyed every episode. Here's to another long 10 Doug! I can safely say that I'm happy that you remember it so we don't have to.

Petrichor Holy shit, that actually got a LOL from me. That's seriously the 4th or 5th time that's ever happened in the last 7 years I've used the internet.
Even if it is run of the mill bad, its sad to think that we do not make quality animated films that are not Disney for children. Nothing with thought. Nothing with anything that is feasibly entertaining at all. Just a bunch of nonsensical plots and imagery because. Children deserve better than this, even tweens, and teenagers. Where have all the good animation gone?
Laika made some inspiring movies. And they put a ton of work into them as well.

Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, Avatar, Star vs Evil, Samurai Jack, TMNT, MLP, various Marvel and DC cartoons.
There are certainly some REALLY bad ones, like Teen Titans Go, but right now we are in a new golden age of quality children's tv shows.
I don't consider Gravity Falls as one for children. Late teens and early adult, but not children. And I am talking about the selection on Netflix as well. And the good animations are far and in between and the ones that are good often get canceled.
Gravity Falls was shows on Disney XD. A channel aimed at kids. As for good animation getting canceled. I'd say it's more good animated tends to have a story and planned ending and so often runs for far less seasons then animation that is just slice of life random comedy.
