Great tutorial, I was a teen when this song was released and still love it. Your Taylor sounds great and I enjoyed how you break this song down. Very nice!!!
80 yo so grew up on a significant number of these songs. Just found you looking for some other songs; what a pleasure to have you instructing us on acoustic--you can't take electric into the Rocky Mountains. Have subscribed.
I knew I was not going to try and learn this one,but l watched it all the way through. I think you are also a good singer and I still enjoyed your lesson very much. I tend not to count out the beats, l just play what I feel is right. When I first got a very old guitar bought for me by my mam and dad from a second hand shop, it had a very high action.l knew a couple of lads who used to practice playing, l was told to mute my strings completely damp them, because l was crap. But later l found how helpful it was, essentially with your teaching of the summer time blues. Thanks .
Hi 👋 thanks for chatting! Mutings a great part of rhythm playing. I use it so often mixed in with a rhythm because it adds so much extra depth and pervasiveness too. It’s well worth developing as a part of the palette 🎸 I was the same with my first guitar. I bought it from my mate for £5, proper battered nylon string. Highest action! I really appreciate a decent guitar action now 😆 I played it for a few years though and did ok though so all good! Yes my guitars a Taylor 214ce. Nice to play 👌🎸🎸
Thanks I really appreciate it! I’m going to have to check that song out. I’m not sure I know it. The tune that got me into them was Dream a Little Dream. Love it 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😊 I’m a fan of a capo sometimes. It’s a nice change to how the guitar feels to play. Something refreshing about it every now and then. Enjoy! 👍🎸
Was just about to comment very similar. I’ve been through a few RUclips creators trying to learn acoustic but you make the journey much easier. You play so well, keep up the great work for us beginners
@tom451 thanks for this! 👍 very happy to be helping. Keep playing, keep being curious and practising. The best combo especially if you love music 🎸 You’re welcome.
Looks pretty accurate. I have always played it E7sus to E7 instead of Esus to E. The open D string sounds better to me. And pretty important that every other chord change is on the up beat and not the down beat as Jo said. The exception is the F in measure 4 does fall on the down beat of 3.
It is. Sounds lush. Warm but with real clarity. I was blown away the first time I played it. It was my first all wooden body guitar and it was a really noticeable difference 👌

Excellent video. Even though there are plenty of capos around here, i rarely use them. Maybe time for more capo.

Awesome! Just found you on RUclips and subscribed!
Hey, thanks! 🙏 🎸 enjoy the vids 😊
Lovely chords and singing. Foxes and Fossils cover this on RUclips and coincidentally Tim Purcell plays a Taylor. I'm still longing for one ❤
Thank you 🙏
I’ll check that out! Re the Taylor, it’s a lovely guitar to play. Highly recommend 😊🎸
@@jobywaterguitartuition Is it a 214ce ?
It is. Sounds lush. Warm but with real clarity. I was blown away the first time I played it. It was my first all wooden body guitar and it was a really noticeable difference 👌
Can I ask, are playing a Taylor. It looks exactly like mine?
