- In this video I show you how to Fix a Light Switch Pull Cord that is not longer clicking on and off. This is a quick and easy DIY project. Just make sure you isolate the power to the light you are fixing by turning the circuit breaker off to stop any electricity going to the pull cord light switch.

thank You. I would like to see up close how that mechanism inside works. mine is different-that inner part is upside-down. and the small teethy thingy is broken into 3 part. my Housemate has pulled the pull too hard and it's broken. regards.

Can that be completely replaced with a push switch on the wall?
They can be, they’re just a switch to cut power to the light fitting, so any switch could be used. There are regulations surrounding safety with switches in bathrooms though. A lot of houses in the UK have switches outside the door to keep them away from wet areas
What do you do if an actual piece is broken inside?
I’d just replace the whole pull switch rather than attempting to repair it
