    LG OLED C1 Game Optimizer HDR Settings.

    • @jeffs70chevelle

      I got my C1 Tuesday, coming from a plasma the dark content is TOO dark on the C1. Have you noticed this? On HDR I have to turn brightness over 60 to get back lost detail and in SDR content I have to turn gamma to 1.9 or jack up the brightness (for internal TV apps, PS5 games and apps, and blu-ray discs). This washes out the midtones and bright content. Not sure if calibration can get me 1.9 type gamma on dark content and 2.4 level on brights.
      Did the A90J have better shadow detail? I'm not sure if getting an a80j would make me happy with dark content

    This tv looks amazing I love it. I got the LG C1 OLED 55" tv and it's beautiful. Amazing for gaming. The clarity and response time is like none other. It makes my Xbox one S feel and look like a series x. Seriously it's amazing. I do wish I went with a 65" for a more immersive feel to the games I play but 55" fits well average size room. Thanks to this channel is the reason I made my decision for the LG C1 OLED tv. Absolutely in love

      Just an update on this comment.. After 2 months of searching I've finally got a Xbox Series X to partner with my LG C1. I now know what a powerful machine it is which looking back on this comment was clearly exaggerated. The Xbox series x seriously complements the OLED panel to it's full capabilities. Most amazing gaming experience, it's such a great time to be a gamer. Wow

      @iiTzEggysk8 hopefully you took it out of the energy save mode using the OLED device care settings. I also enabled auto detect for the detection of tv/movie/gaming and finds the best settings for whatever your content is. I think it does struggle a bit if in a really really bright room. But average to low lighting which is what my scenario is, I find the colors to really pop and brightness sometimes blinds me. Maybe you should go for QLED tv instead

I like the rpg mode lol I won't use the fps boost I don't like raised gamma it's a great thing for shooters I get it but I still wouldn't use it lol put the color to wide next time if you want more color I get it's on auto and says it detects but setting it to wide will still add more color then before for some reason even tho it should do it automatically when in hdr for some reason setting it to wide still adds more even when in hdr

      @@MyGadgetsWorld The C1 comes with "ABL" which automatically dims the display if it has been "bright" for "too long" and it cannot be deactivated. This feature is exaggerated in any HDR mode, which explains why while I'm playing Apex I will literally watch my screen go from a beautiful bright, colorful, and clear display to a darkened, dull picture. I'm not exactly sure why it isn't apparent in the video you've created here, but it is definitely apparent to myself and the many others on reddit. The TV is advertised as "incapable of burn-in" due to the constant pixel movement, when in reality it is this feature coupled with ABL, which ironically isn't mentioned anywhere. Weird.

    You HDR settings for in-game on Forza 4 and system HDR settings are totally wrong. You are adjusting the HDR calibration with the incorrect HDR setting on the TV. You should be adjusting HDR calibration when using HGiG. You are currently using DTM Tone Mapping which throws off dark scene details. When adjusting in-game HDR you should have the TV set to HGiG and adjust both the console and in-game. If you want more brightness then you can put DTM back on, but for adjusting you NEVER adjust using DTM because it throws off the EOTF curve. Secondly, you should have Sharpness at Zero. Anything above Zero is adding sharpness to the image which you don't want.

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  3 года назад

      Hey John. Thanks for your comment. HGiG and DTM is debatable. If I don't adjust in game calibration in Forza then everything looks either too dark or too bright.

      I agree with sharpness to be zero.

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  3 года назад

      So you are saying if we are in DTM then we don't have to do in console HDR calibration and also not in game? That doesn't sound or even looked right when I tried.

    • @johnsaunders4594
      @johnsaunders4594 3 года назад +1

      @@MyGadgetsWorld No. You set the TV to HGiG. Then you do your console calibration tool. Then you load Forza and do the HDR calibration. All this is done while HGiG in turned on. Once you are done, you then leave HGiG on or your Turn DTM back on if you want a little more brightness. But all your adjustments should be done with HGiG engaged because doing it with DTM turned off throws everything off. Ask yourself...does your TV really have a 3000+ white point? No TV has that high of white point.

    • @MyGadgetsWorld
      @MyGadgetsWorld  3 года назад

      I know with DTM TV handles tone mapping and does adjustments in real time, and with HGiG On console handles it. Even with that white point 3800 and all other calibrations done at every level, i am not noticing much difference, only with FPS it throws it off because we are increasing the black stabilizer and white stabilizer. I will run another side by side comparison since I have C1 and CX both and they support HGiG. Thanks for your input. I will follow up, since I did not see a bad image produced with the settings I mentioned.
