hello and thank You. LG C1 + RTX 4080 Super user here. TV was set to 3840x2160 in NVIDIA Control panel upper TV settings ("Ultra HD, HD, SD") and 60 Hz. when changed to 100 Hz, or 120 Hz, TV was flickering as hell. I have changed the resolution to the PC setting at the bottom and now everything is working even with HDR always on. thank You!
Thanks so much for this, I have my RTX 3060 hooked up to my LG C155in and couldn't work out why it wasn't running in 120hz. Tried your tutorial and it kept on reverting back to 60hz. Stole the HDMI high speed cable from my Xbox Series X and voila! now running 3840x2160 120hz , HDR is also not flickering now when G-SYNC is enabled. Thanks again MGW !!
I didn't know that there were different TV and PC resolution settings in Windows. Couldn't find out why my C2 was limited to 60hz. Thank you very much!
Also to achieve 120hz make sure Game Optimiser is turned on via the lg tv menu. Mine was off be default and was only showing 60hz. But you are an absolute legend - thank you for your video. I have search’s the web endlessly for this information🙌🏼
Great video, for those of you who can't get it to work, it has to be your HDMI cable. I have an expensive monster 4k cable and it turns out it is not HDMI 2.1 high speed, good luck.
Some games run on borderless windowed mode even if you ask them to run at full screen, so I advise to turn g-sync on for windowed mode as well just in case.
For those that are having issues enabling HDR in nvidia settings/windows settings, I had to make my refresh rate 60hz in order for it to work. I guess my system can't run HDR at 120hz. If there is a solution for this please let me know but that's how I got HDR enabled and working in conjuction for both in game settings and windows/nvidia settings. Hope this helps.
In the description its mentioned that you need a RTX3000 series to hit 120mhz@4K, RTX2000 won't cut it. I got an RTX3070TI, but had the a similar issue, thought I was using a "high speed"HDMI cable. Went and got a cheap, but decent 8k 120mhz HDMI cable, my problem was solved.
No you just need to have a DisplayPort to hdmi2.1 converter, my old 2080 could get 4k120hz in 10bit HDR with the adapter. Depends on what video card you have.
Thanks. Managed to get 100hz on my C1 77 finally. Also 3000 series card not required as my old 2080ti is getting 100+ fps on Doom Eternal on Nightmare.
I really liked all the info you have shared. I am building my new rig and already have the Intel Core i9 12900K cpu and will have my EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Gaming Ultra vid card in two days. The rig will be running on Windows 11 Pro and 64 GB DDR5@4800 MT/s, along with 5.1 discrete full surround supported with an extra sound card. I am considering the LG 55" C1 as this rig is for gaming and home theatre advantages. I've been wanting an OLED for picture quality and they will probably only get better in the future, (QLED).
@@Ishh__M Good to hear about your rig. Did you get the tip about only using a Certified Ultra Fast HDMI cord less then 8 feet for your 4K? If you use a slower cheaper cord more than 8 feet long, you will not get the 4 K @ 120 Hz refresh rate. I'm using a Certified Ultra 8K 4 ft HDMI cord, and I am getting 4K res 120 Hz. I am so sorry Matt, I have been away from RUclips for last 2 months. Can you provide me more details on what is your Graphic card? also make sure that you are using latest Nvidia drivers if it is Nvidia Card. if there HDR doesn't work then you can do this: Set custom resolution using Nvidia Control panel. USE RGB Full and use 10 bit color. Apply this and then go to Windows Display settings and turn on HDR from there. Let me know.

You CAN get the PC to run on the LG OLED at 4k120 with older graphics cards. You just can't do it through HDMI 2.0. it has to be through displayport 1.3 or higher. Just get a HDMI 2.1 cable and a HDMI to display port adapter that supports 4k 120 and you're set. Can be done through USB C too.
you can but there is no way you can achieve anything close to 120fps in todays games in a 120hz monitor. You will need to lower the resolution so you can get close to 120 or whatnot. But yeah you can do 4k120 out of nvidia cards with reduced chroma

Thanks a lot for this video. I have an LG OLED GI, and an Asus GTX 1050TI graphic card in the connected PC. The stated HDMI interface of the card is 2.0b and stated max resolution is 7680x4320. The connection to the LG OLED TV is through an Onkyo AVR whose specs state 4K for the HDMI inputs and for the HDMI output it states HDCP2.2. Will the settings described in this video work for my configuration. Thanks for any advice.
For posteriority, this is my second post on this video :) I just want to say that I was using an amd R9 390 at the time and this video fixed my problems then. However when I bought my nvidia RTX 3080 strix, I changed the settings in the TV (hdmi -> PC) but in nvidia control panel, the PC resolution "4k 120FPS" wasn't available. I searched the internet for no luck until I decided to enable "Game optimiser" in the TV. As soon as I did this, the nvidia control panel recognized automatically that resolution and everything seems good so far. Wasn't expecting this pain, to be honest. EDIT: It still didnt have "Gsync compatible display" in nvidia settings. I was using a DP2.1 to HDMI cable and as soon as I switched it to an HDMI2.1 cable it changed without problems. FIXED. Cheers to everyone
Do you know why it doesnt change to 10bit when I turn on HDR? Also, the sample video in Windows 11 doesnt play properly. I have a GTX 1080 and 8600K. I am only able to get up to 2k120 and 4k60 but 10 bit wont turn on for either.
Thank you very much. I seem to have an issue with the hdr portion. Everytime i click to turn it on, it automatically flickers black for a second and turns back off. Can you help me with that?
@@MyGadgetsWorld it's an rtx 2080 and just realized that it doesn't support hdr at 4k120hz since rtx 2080 is an hdmi 2.0b... but it worked with 4k60hz, but i had to revert back to 4k120hz without hdr due to the fact my tv just turns (green, blue and etc..) randomly. Not sure why
Nice video first of all! Now I am in debate, should I switch Odyssey G9 for LG C1 48 as primary PC monitor, only do games and watch movies + surf on youtube and browser?
I have a 1080 monitor with no other HDMI slots on my PC (other than one used for 2nd monitor), I am trying to connect to my LG OLED CS by unplugging my monitor and using that hdmi slot for the TV. Quick question. So after I did this, My screen sometimes flickers. I’m not too sure what’s going on. I read an article about G-Sync/VRR flickering on LG OLED TVs. But it want too helpful.
Just fcking helpful, I'd spent almost a month trying out the fcking hdr, I have a laptop nitro 5 with 3050 and cx lg and I just thought, I couldnt use this features. You really explained everythig so well, thanks mate
Hey bro do you have a video on first time buying or building a pc? I’ve been thinking about switching from console to PC. I currently have the latest LG Oled tv as well.
I really appreciate your video. I didn't even know how to get to the home screen or to pull up my VRR info, thank you! Now I have a question. My screen will be set up perfectly, but after turning off my screen and turn it on at a later time, I get some really bad flashing like it lost sync, have you ever dealt with that? My LG77CX was recognized by my Windows 11 3080 PC, but kept saying "No Input". So, I activated HDR inside Win Display Settings. When I did that, it removed the LG TV from being recognized. Said its Not Active in windows settings, so I cannot turn HDR off. Also, inside Nvidia display settings, when I click the box to activate it, it force-deactivates it. Im totally stuck. Any ideas?
Mine is coming soon and thanks for all the tips and hints it really helps a lot, btw i am planning to play CSGO on it but i am worried about HUD and crosshair will result in burn-in, maybe it's not a good idea

Didnt get to turn HDR on, might be due to my (old) grafics card: GTX 1070
Welcome. Yes you need RTX at least
Ok thanks again
May I know how you can view /call up the vrr information bar
Press green button on remote consecutive 4 to 5 times.
I’ve connect my PC with to the TV via hdmi and it just says no signal.
The PC picks up the tv on display settings but can get anything to display on the TV.
Tried different hdmi ports and no joy
Same
Very useful tutorial. Thank you!
For posteriority, this is my second post on this video :)
I just want to say that I was using an amd R9 390 at the time and this video fixed my problems then.
Thank you for the setting part :) I was stuck with "TV resolution" and stuck at 60 FPS :)
Thank you very much. I seem to have an issue with the hdr portion. Everytime i click to turn it on, it automatically flickers black for a second and turns back off. Can you help me with that?
Thanks for the comment. It doesn't happen to me at all. Can you tell me what graphic card are you using?
@@MyGadgetsWorld it's an rtx 2080 and just realized that it doesn't support hdr at 4k120hz since rtx 2080 is an hdmi 2.0b... but it worked with 4k60hz, but i had to revert back to 4k120hz without hdr due to the fact my tv just turns (green, blue and etc..) randomly. Not sure why
@@9901ghsa yes because that card doesn't have HDMI 2.1. That's why I asked for your card.
Nice video first of all! Now I am in debate, should I switch Odyssey G9 for LG C1 48 as primary PC monitor, only do games and watch movies + surf on youtube and browser?
Noo don't get G9. Quality control issues
Broooooooo thank you soo much i was about to cry and you saved my pc from getting fucked! If we meet someday drinks on me buddy 🤙🏻🍻
You are a rock star!!!!! Thankyou. Like and Subscribed.
Thank you so much Keith.
Do you have any idea why mine will only show 12-bit or 8-bit, no 10-bit? My green button settings tell me RGB 12b TM when i have HDR on, not 10-bit
I have a 1080 monitor with no other HDMI slots on my PC (other than one used for 2nd monitor), I am trying to connect to my LG OLED CS by unplugging my monitor and using that hdmi slot for the TV. Whenever I launch a game or open a folder on my main PC screen, it will open on the main screen not the 2nd screen. But when I connect my tv, everything opens up on the 2nd screen. How do I fix this?
Excellent advice, thank you!
Thanks for watching
SUPER helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for watching. :)
Quick question. So after I did this, My screen sometimes flickers. I’m not too sure what’s going on. I read an article about G-Sync/VRR flickering on LG OLED TVs. But it want too helpful.
@@MyGadgetsWorld .
Followed instructions to the T, but every time I select enable HDR, the screen goes black
Thank you so much. I thought I had a bad cable or worse, that my HDMI port on new gpu was bad
TO clarify, I have the C1 and a RTX 3090. LASTLY, look up an app called "Wallpaper Engine", It will let you choose a desktop wallpaper that has slight movement to it so it prevents burn in from a totally static image.
Did you connect the tv using hdmi port? As it doesn’t comes with DP port right..
HDMI 2.1
Whenever i enable HDR in the windows color settings, i get "No Signal" until i disable it again. It only recently started doing this.
Thank you very much, very helpful Setting 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Plz help. I have LG C1 and RTX3080 connected via quality hdmi 2.1 cable. When I choose PC resolution in Nvidia Control Panel 4k and 120hz than my screens goes for black for few seconds, after that it is back, there is info to accept changes and.. when click Yes than it goes back to standard UHD native res with 60hz…
What does it mean when I set the 4k 120hz signal and my C1 goes black and flickers invalid format a few times and then resets to 60hz?
It’s a 3070 gpu
can get everything on my 2070 except hdr, not sure why but not getting the rgb 10 bit just the YCBCR420 8 bit, still really nice and good vid
could you help me. i have an lg c 1 and it doesnt appear in the nvidia control panel. it only shows the 3d settings. im able to select 120hz and 4k from the display settings but it doesnt recognize the tv as hdr certified. it also says it is connected to the iris intel and not the 1650 ti card. the device driver says generic monitor. thanks
I was about to return this TV until your video... thanks!
Glad that it helped
I have a 4080 card running on a 55"C1 but when I put it in 3840x2160 under pc the screen flickers pretty bad.
Do you know why i still have tearing while g-sync is on?
Does it show gsync on the tv? When you press the settings in game mode. Is the game at least 40fps? VRR doesn’t work with less.
Thanks man for a super video!
Thank you. :)
Thank you for the video. I purchased the LG C1 as a monitor with my older dell inspiron 15r 5537 but eveything seems to be "blown up". The text and icons are clear but eveything is too large I am unable to utilizie the real estate of the monitor effectively. I assume its a resolution issue as my laptop is just running an Intel HD graphics card which may not support this tv. Do you have any advice on this?
THANK YOU MAN
Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much bro I almost died because I didn't find it
What if I want to use Plex HTPC on windows 11 and need the clarity settings back on for that, can I just set the hdmi the pc is on to a streaming box? Or will that mess up any display settings on windows 11 when I need to go back to gaming?
So whenever I pick any resolution above 1080P in the PC resolution category, it will revert back to Ultra HD even when I press Yes after Apply... Locking me at 60Hz..
Thank you friend
Much helpful
I have a lg c1 connected to my laptop. power saving turned off on tv and laptop. How do I keep the screen from dimming after one minute of inactivity? it makes me furious. I am doing graph analysis and the movement on the screen is small so I have to make some big movement to make the screen bright again. I've been looking everywhere. Is there a way to keep the tv screen from dimming?
i have lg oled B3, rtx 4070ti super, still in pc resolution 4k is not showing, why? maximun resolution i can get is 1440p as the top of the options in pc list resolution 2:50

@@Vitorfernandes83 yes, the problem was on the tv conector
@@aidenfau3209 yes. In the LG oleds it’s usually port 3 and 4.

On my 27 inch LG monitor that had Gsync, my pc was able to enable it. The option to enable gsync is gone when using LGC2 as a monitor. Anyone know why? Is it because I was using DisplayPort?

Appreciate your comment sir
I’m going to try these settings for 1440p with the LG C2 42’’ as I have a 2000 series GPU, only thing is, I don’t know if 2560x1440 is cropping my picture, like I’m playing tomb raider and I feel in my head that it’s just slightly not full picture but rather zoomed in… idk
thank you
Hey ! Why i cant see my monitor in nevidai settings i use nvidia geforce rtx 2070 super
I am having issues.. I have a C2, running a Razor Blade 17 inch laptop, I had it working all sweet and there was no issues but all of a sudden I had an nvida setting prompt up so I clicked on it and now I can’t get HDR on the tv WHEN I am running both screens.. if I run it only on the tv I’ll have HDR but the problem there is I can’t play certain games because of a Direct x error.. the only way I can play certain games is whilst running both screens! - It was working fine before but yeah I’ve had some random issue pop up and now I can’t get it to go back.. I can’t even “Extend Screen” to be able to muck around with both of the screens, but yeah I need help with it - I’ve googled things and just not getting it to work
trying to do this with a samsung q80t and it won't let me keep 120hz with hdr. ive tried many hdmi, many drivers, etc. not sure what is wrong. 3090ti windows 11, all up to date
F***ing Win10 had my taskbar and desktop icons size set to 300% increase. Glad I found this video because I thought my new 3080 was faulty.
