    Honestly it comes down to active listening. Customers want a clean and shiny car, you can polish to perfection and they'll run it through a car wash the next day. Myself I do paint enhancement, just a light polish to preserve clear coat, round over the scratches and increase gloss

    Comes down to system choice. Offer packages a b c . Then inform them what an automatic brush car wash does

    • @halvorson566
      @halvorson566 Год назад +1

      Yes…please do let customers know about automatic brush car washes will do to your car people!! They’ll eat it up the best ceramic coating you could buy in a matter of months, I’ve seen a guy who used it everyday because of the $40 monthly unlimited top tier wash package(hot wax, ceramic, sealant, tire shine, wheel cleaner, etc), but was somewhere around $30 for a single wash. He just got the top tier ceramic package done on his brand new black GMC 1500. You’d never know it ever had ceramic done. He was devastated&thought the shop scammed him, which I know they would never do because they’ve been in business for over 30 years, local owner, grew up in our small city&does great things for our community, along with having the best reputation around that gets people to drive hours away to drop off their vehicles to him for all the services he offers.

    Total polishing newbie here. If you are taking the time to do a one stage polishing job, is it worth using a pad with some cut rather than no cut?

    • @Brian-dj3ru
      @Brian-dj3ru 2 года назад +5

      A paint in enhancement would just be applying your favorite finish with a finishing pad. A stage one correction is using a polish with minor cutting capabilities and a light polishing pad.a stage 2 correction is when you use a a more aggressive pad with a compound etc.for just a one stage ,I usually go with an orange foam pad from lake country and sonax perfect finish

    • @nazarethperez9760
      @nazarethperez9760 2 года назад +1

      Just do it correctly if it’s for you. Definitely do first step in hardest or dirtiest areas. Second pass with polish and black or blue pad

    This, this right here is what’s wrong with the America. You summed it up in 60 seconds without knowing it. Doing dishonest work, cutting corners, just to turn a higher profit. If the customer asks me for 3 stage system, I will do it. But, I will also recommend based off the condition of the car. If it only needs a a quick buff and wax, I will say that. I work for plenty of people who tell me exactly what they want and I do it. I would never put any 4 in 1 product on my cars. They don’t work as well as the the tried and true method. The reason why three steps are the gold standard is based off science. Each compound is doing something different. You should probably focus on communication, being more time efficient, and narrowing down what you are good at. I have a stupid high attention to detail from being in the military. My customers like the little things I do more than anything else. All those little cracks and crevices make it pop, demonstrating you know more than just throwing products on different areas. I only use a 3 step system, engine bay cleaner, wheels, carpet/upholstery and plastic revive. 7 products I have used for over a decade but I have over 30 different picks, scrapers, hooks etc for getting into all the hard spots.
