The growth of flashlight tech in just the past year alone has been exponential. It's fast approaching the limits of what lithium battery output will allow.
Owned two of these. There is a problem with the switch electronics. After a couple of weeks, press the button and the light only stays on for a second or so. Returned it, same thing happened with the second light. 100's of reviews confirm this same problem with other peoples flashlights.
ALMOST BOUGHT ONE, HAD THE 300 LUMENS, SWITCH ATE UP BATTS, DURACELL REPLACED WITH 350'S SAME OLD SHIT, REPLACED AGAIN WITH 380'S, LET'S SEE IF ANYMORE ISSUES WITH THE SWITCHES.
Thanks for taking the time to do such a complete review. I am a flashlight junkie and saw this at Costco but didn't buy it. I will go back and get one based on your review. I agree with other comments that lighting technology is changing every day. I don't want to buy $100 flashlights that will be outdated and out-shined in a year. This is a good choice.
These flashlights chew up batteries when not in use. In a matter of days! It has something to do with the circuit board under the on/off switch. I cut out a small round plastic or cardboard disc to place between the last battery and the end cap when not in use. That spares your batteries from that drain issue.
Thanks for the comments. Good idea to save the batteries between uses. If you are not going to use for a long time keep the batteries or taped to the exterior.
I bought one at Costco. Great light for about 2 weeks. Switch goes bad after that. Also checked out Amazon and the same issue with many people. Have tried to get repaired or replaced like the warranty says, but Duracell doesn't make this. The company that does has a bad rep for no service after the sale. Taking back to Costco. What a shame, great light.
Flashlights are absolutely necessary gear I just hate when I grab an aluminum flashlight in cold weather. An easy fix for me was to buy a bike tire inner tube and cut it to desired length and slip it on. The cold temp becomes a non issue and give the FL and nice grippy feel.
Great review brother I'm looking for a new light for my truck, my old D cell mag light just does not throw the lumens out .... Thanks Anthony and God bless )
those are decent lights for up to 75 yards. Guy brought out a half dozen types at a night shoot and only complaint was the square focused beam just didn't have the ability to go past 100 yards without really washing out. I'll have to pick one up. I'm curious how it'll work with the eneloop AA adapters. I hate these strobe flashlights, pretty worthless but it's the current fad.
Thanks for the info. I do not like the square beam, but overall cannot complain at that price point. I am not familiar with the eneloop adapters, where did you purchase them?
I bought a multipak from costco that came with them, but I see amazon has them, they're called sanyo eneloop spacers. we're trying to switch everything to AA and these spacers have come in handy.
Thanks for the info. I will check out the site. It is very good to have everything on one standard. Much easier to store and track what you have. Take care.
I bought mine at Costco also and cannot get the batteries to last 5 minutes in this light. I even upgraded to Sony Stamina Platinum batteries. Anybody else having this problem?
It's a common defect. Mine did the same after just a couple of months. Costco no longer sells them. Amazon has lots of info on this. There is a defect in the on/off switch.
biblesnbarbells No, just thought thats they way they worked. I have found if I keep the back cap off of the light and put the cap on when I use the light, the batteries last longer. Something about it all being connected drains the batteries I've decided.
Yes. I do not use it everyday as it stays in my van most of the time. Thanks for the heads up. I will do a follow-up review after I use it for a while and give my overall opinion on it. Take care.
Loving this light, but was out in the rain with it and water got in the lense where the lens slides back and forth. Now I have moisture covering the lense. Haven't been able to figure out how or IF I can get that part open. Any thoughts? Other than make this thing water tight...
Same issue as Dave Bridgman. I would give .20 cents for one. Batteries are being drained by some defect of the flashlight. Bought mine from Costco also. should have been recalled.
worked great for a week. thought the batteries drained. put new ones in. a week later (without using it) the light won't stay on. put new batteries in and the light will not stay on. it's not the batteries.
Mine is trash I’ve had it 5 years and it’ll run theu the c batteries like nothing and a lot of the no name brand batteries won’t even work. If I still had packageing I’d get my money back
I went through 6 exchanges at Costco. Finally called duracell customer service @ 888-910-2280 and they sent a newer revision flashlight. It worked for me for a week. They are replacing it via UPS and asking for the other one back so they can investigate the failure. This light is stoopid bright and I cannot find anything else that compares for the price.
The reason why people are burning this FL up is because they are running NIMH batteries in them. The circuit can't handle that current. Stick with standard C cells and it's good.
Its defiantly not 1000 lumens....ITS WAY LESS MORE LIKE 200 ...I HAVE A SKYBEAM 1000 LUMENS AND ITS SUPER BRIGHT I MEAN BRRRIIIGGHTT!!! NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS DURACEL wanna be 1000 lumes ....
I just baught one. It’s really bright in the night . You can see everything outdoors. Good product

I know. It seems like new and better stuff comes out every week. Thanks for watching.

Same for me

Is it waterproof because i dropped mine in the snow and there is water in the light area

I bought a couple of the 500 lumen ones about 6 months ago. They work pretty good, though it does eat up batteries.
I saw the 500 lumen ones in an ad, but they did not have in the store the day I was there. Thanks for the info on the batteries. Happy New Year!
Good to see a top brand like Duracell at such a reasonable price
Yes. It is a great all round light at a great price. Take care.
Great review brother I'm looking for a new light for my truck, my old D cell mag light just does not throw the lumens out .... Thanks Anthony and God bless
)
Thanks for watching Brother. This light would be a great addition for your truck. I have mine in my van right now. Happy New Year! God Bless.
These were on sale for $15.00 couple weeks ago. One of the best purchase I made
$15.00 bucks is a great price. Mine is working great. I keep in my van. Take care.
The switch went out on mine after a few months of light use!
Thanks for your comments.

what batteries does it use?
I bought mine at Costco also and cannot get the batteries to last 5 minutes in this light. I even upgraded to Sony Stamina Platinum batteries. Anybody else having this problem?
Sounds like a bad light. Did you return for another?
It's a common defect. Mine did the same after just a couple of months. Costco no longer sells them. Amazon has lots of info on this. There is a defect in the on/off switch.
Thanks for the update.

Debbie Astle The flashlights are junk.
Now Costco has them at $15. Just picked one up and it's brighter than my Fenix PD35 960L
That is a great price for this flashlight. I may go and see if my Costco has them. Thanks for letting us know. Take care.
Awesome light! Only 20 bucks wow! Good score!
Thanks. It was a very good price. I may go back and get a few more this weekend if they still have for that price.
Still works? A LOT of reviews talk about this dying after 2-3 weeks or blowing up with rechargeable batteries
Yes. I do not use it everyday as it stays in my van most of the time. Thanks for the heads up. I will do a follow-up review after I use it for a while and give my overall opinion on it. Take care.
Though it's not on the packaging, apparently Duracell states NOT to used rechargeable batteries from what I've been reading.
I wonder why? Maybe you do not get the full lumen output.
Rechargeable batteries use different materials and give off a different voltage/current which can fry the components.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks brother. I will go and check out Costco. Eyes Open, Be Safe.
Thanks for watching. Happy New Year! Stay Ready!
Great price point.
Very even field on the flood position.
Yes, the price was great. It does have a good field for the flood version. Thanks for watching. Happy New Year!
Loving this light, but was out in the rain with it and water got in the lense where the lens slides back and forth. Now I have moisture covering the lense.
Haven't been able to figure out how or IF I can get that part open.
Any thoughts? Other than make this thing water tight...
CopterPilot801 Thanks for sharing. I will need to take a closer look at mine and see if it can be opened. Did you call the company?
biblesnbarbells
No...not yet.
It can be unscrewed
+CopterPilot801 its not the batterys its the light
What are the run times for high and low mode? Thanks.
2 hours on high and 35 hours on low mode. Thanks for your question. Happy New Year!
Same issue as Dave Bridgman. I would give .20 cents for one. Batteries are being drained by some defect of the flashlight. Bought mine from Costco also. should have been recalled.
Thanks for the info.
Terry....buy the Husky line of flashlights. 2 years now....NO issues and not too expensive. Great output and very durable
how many millimeters is it
Thanks I'm in the market for a new flashlight for my glovebox.
It would be great for that. Thanks for watching.
Correction.... I would not give .20 cents for one.
worked great for a week. thought the batteries drained. put new ones in. a week later (without using it) the light won't stay on. put new batteries in and the light will not stay on. it's not the batteries.
Dave Bridgman That is too bad. Mine is still working.
Same thing happened to mine.
Thanks for your feedback.
Faced same issue, even after using new batteries would turn ON for split of second and turns off. Duracell should address this issue.
+Carlos Pena Doesn't like anything other than Alkaline.
You didn't show how to turn it on. Or change modes. Or explain the 'easy touchpad at the end of the light'. C'mon!
I thought I was the only person with a dog named Teddy
+ken tastic Ha, Ha.. Thanks for watching.

+someguyinsantaclara Glad Duracell stepped up and took care of the problem.
+biblesnbarbells I am a security guard for an outdoor recreation camping area at a lake. I need a bright light to light up areas from a distance.
Yes. A good light would be very important.
The reason why people are burning this FL up is because they are running NIMH batteries in them. The circuit can't handle that current. Stick with standard C cells and it's good.
Thanks for the info!
Ours lasted for awhile, but the electronics went out and is dead.
The Duracell 1000 is not a durable light. It did not even lasted one year.
Thanks for your comments.
$15.00 from Costco !
Thanks.
1000 lumens????? ..... Really???
Not true i bought one its less then 400 lms
Its defiantly not 1000 lumens....ITS WAY LESS MORE LIKE 200 ...I HAVE A SKYBEAM 1000 LUMENS AND ITS SUPER BRIGHT I MEAN BRRRIIIGGHTT!!! NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS DURACEL wanna be 1000 lumes ....

POOR REVIEW, WOULD NOT BUY.
