Only 2 minutes in and loving it! Yeah man! Good on you to call out VANS.... it is actual horse shit! 🙂 And agreed on the wrap liner, too. Same experience here. Wanted to love them, went back to tongue liners. I did a whole series on boots last year. Good to see other older riders sharing the same experience!! High fives!!

Thank you! I am a big fan of you and your channel. I see lots and lots of "fluff" in the media world related to snowboarding with very little actual substance. I have no idea what I'm doing making vids, and probably shouldn't, but I see a lack of help/opinion from a place of real long-term experience. In addition I simply enjoy hearing people talk about snowboarding when they are both experienced and intelligent which you are both so thank you for putting it out there. I'll be tuning in ..... Thanks again.

I wish the industry of snowboard wound give more attention to boot liners. Is a sirious issue and I had so many liners. Currently I'm using Palau from. France incredible liners but made for ski.

@@Justaride-Snowboard-Channel also take a look into tecnica C. A. S boot liner. I.. Currently getting one to try because they have a material that hardens outside and helps to crate mold for toe and heel

This is good info - great vid big guy. im a 9,5 so im bordering on that normal/wide board situation.
I can relate so much to the vans being nice in store and sh*t on slope, big toebox - i started out with adidas samba (soft - no heel hold), vans aura pro (no heel hold), did some research on heel hold - got k2 holgate (amazing for charging love the boa conda and stiffness), now i recently got the ride fuse (toung tied heel hold and laces).
I was super happy with k2 - but the boa made it really snug up top, but not snug in the toebox, but the boa-conda kept my heel in place.
Super happy with the Fuse (so far) - they really work for everything from hiking park to charging, i really hope they break in nicely and i only have to add some bontex boards (or FP insoles - thanks!) to put under my remind insoles as i sink in and jbars start to hurt.
Glad to see im not the only one with way too many pair of boots 😅

7:10 good point. But, the shin pressure to edge affects to the toe? Or raises the heel? Which plays the main role ?

Been riding an older set of the 32 performance liners (the ones with the Velcro straps around the tops) in my tm2 diggers. I was so sad when I got the newer 32’s tm2 diggers and found a totally different liner. It’s wild how much the quality went down in the new liners imo. Not even close to the quality of the older ones (think the last year of the good liners were like 2019-20ish maybe 2021

sounds about right. Vans liners pre 2020 were great. All the new stuff is crap. sux.

If after a day of painful riding you take off your boots and if feels like you're about to roll your ankle each step you take means you're collapsing your arch. Put in some high arch support sole and the pain will be gone.

I don't particularly notice the issues you mentioned with Vans boots. I actually feel when I get them they are worse and after breaking in they are better. But I have experience it with other brands. I will say though, Vans always seem to fit a bit small. And if you size up they are too big.

I like the idea of adding the flat FP insole to fill volume under the liner. How much larger size of insole did you use compared to your actual boot size? I’m riding an 8.5 infuse but I don’t think an 8.5 insole would be nearly large enough to fill that space under the liner

I think I got the same size. My boots are 13's and I believe I bought 13's. I know FP plans on the customer trimming them to fit their specific shoe. I didn't trim them at all and they fit in the shells perfectly. Remember, they make different thicknesses. Be good to have a place to sample before you buy.
