If you ever want to test a shop do this. RUN!
Any recommendations on a great boot fitter in Denver or Summit county? The big shops here in town (evo, etc.) scare me with these young kids they have working
Buying boots in person is so important. Glad you mentioned that. Most people don't realize how different boots can fit between brands, and even between models of the same brand. Gotta try a bunch of stuff on, and see what feels best. If the shopping for boots didn't involve at least a full afternoon, I'd say the person rushed their decision. I'm currently between boots, and I'll be stopping by shops to try stuff as soon as I'm able. Already had to do one riding trip in August with rental boots, no way I'm doing another 😆
I totally get the idea of boot fitting in shop and honestly I would totally stand for it, actually bought all my boots in a shop so far ( 2 pairs :) ) but, a big but... unfortunately reality is in many places there simply just aren't any professional options like you guys on a very big radius. I mean you try them on and all that, but no way to measure with a tool and get any decent support. Overall I also stand for helping local shops, I just wanted to point smth out, could also be US / Canada is better in this regard, but in Europe, where I live unfortunately it's kind of the case...
I just bought new Ride Lasso Pro’s from a shop last Thursday. The kid never asked me any questions. Showed me the boot, asked “how does that feel?” I had no clue about half this stuff. I should have watched this first. However, I love the Lasso pro after the first day.
Well done as always! Follow up show going deeper? Here's an example, had a lot of boots over the years, currently have a couple. Aside from "whatever feels right" what is the proper placement of the tongue when synching your liner? Do u pull it up and press it flush to your shin? Or do push straight laterly against it? Or do you pull laterly then down and snug?
Got myself a pair of 32s double boas and the store went through all the steps you guys mentioned here. Was such a good experience and I'm glad my feeling was confirmed by you guys. Can't wait to get shredding! The only thing I still need to do is heat mold them. Is the rice in a sock method something you guys would recommend for heat molding at home?
I tried the new Lasso Pro and Rift APX SIZE 10 for both, the Lasso's were too snug and the Rifts were perfect with that said its so important to try boots on because i was very tempted to buying online without trying them on
Here in Texas pretty limited choice of shops with any selection. I rolled the dice ordered online Vans invado pro using shoe size. They fit like a glove but are hell to get in and out of.
Yep, in houston my brother went like 8 or 10 years ago and found a great shop that did all the sizing/molding. They since shut down and or relocated and now just do water sports. I mean, guess there's just not a lot of demand for custom snowboarding here. No idea where to go.
Ok guys - what are the best snowboarding insoles and how do I go about fitting for them if my local stores don't carry them to check out? I am riding an 8.5 Nidecker Rift - thanks and keep up the great work!!
Is there a certain type of remind soles that guys use for snowboarding boots? Always been curious about them. Just always kinda Leary about ordering a pair (don’t have them locally). But I’d love to snag a pair. Love the channel.

Minor hot spot on the talus area, but only on the left foot, are there any options (ex. J bars/donuts/???) - burton ions that are great in all other ways and broke in amazing with aftermarket liners
Do you ever use the OEM footbed to do a reference of the boot fit? I've seen a good vid that used that (and other techniques) to help demonstrate comfort vs performance fits.
I'm an expert rider but have been struggling with a proper boot fit over the last couple years. Mostly boots hurting terribly in the beginning of the day. I'm struggling because I live in a smaller town and the only snowboard shop in the area is as basic as it gets. To the point that I can't even buy my board there because they don't carry anything I would come close to riding. I've gone through everything I can think of. I'm sure insoles would help but I'm not even really sure where to start. Any suggestions that I may have missed? Without traveling 4 hours....
4 hours isn't so bad! we have some customers that travel 8 or more for the fitting :) Start with the Remind Medic insole , not knowing the model you have that's always where we start ....
@@maxcoleman8716 If you're an expert rider, and only 4 hours away from Nelson, you should have gone riding in the Kootenays ages ago! No time like the present to make the trip, and stop by their shop for a boot fitting

Word of warning, I’ve used Brannocks that rate me a full size too large. I think they’re for places selling causal shoes to save time when the customer wants a larger size for more room
I agree, I am sized as an US 11.5 on a Brannock. However, I squeeze into a thirty-two 10 I am not going to lie, it’s pure fucking hell, but I put in an aftermarket footbed with a high arch. This helps pull my toes out of the box by a few mills. That being said, when spring comes around and the temps warm back up, my feet feel like they are in a Chinese prison camp on some days. I find it helps to have a cooler full of cold beer and some open-toed shoes in the truck at day’s end. Performance all the way.

That’s not unheard of! It all comes down to personal preference. I downsize a full size from my street shoe whereas Shane here likes to stick fairly true to his street shoe size. At the end of the day it’s what feels best on your foot
