Awesome interview!! Really enjoyed the discussion!! Thanks for the advice Mike! Maybe I should focus on about 100 key cards. Looking forward to the National guys!!
I enjoy the videos with your dad the most because my dad is no longer with us. I’m so glad to see someone that appreciates the time with their dad as you do. Please make this a regular show. Once a month at the very least.
Very Happy to be compared to your dad, ANYDAY! I always say we can learn a TON from people from future generations (In this case-same generation), if we would take the time to listen. Then, actually follow through with their advice. Listening to others that may know a little more about life or a particular subject is a lost art and a sure way to get where you want to be in many areas of your life. To many kids Know everything. Just ask em. LOVE the Interview. Glad it was the Long winded version. Best piece of advice was to "get more money and buy more cards".🤣 We do need to hear more with your dad too. With all the spectacular things you do and the guests you do have, I enjoy these with Mike-Mid Life Dad the most.
Freaking epic !! Me and your dad seem to collect the same way 😊😊 give me topps or give me death give me those old slabbed great looking cards no one wants 😂😂👊 ok let me keep watching
I love it when you bring your dad on, Graig. I hope you do it more often. It's cool to see how you two collect similarly, and I'm sure he had a big part in shaping that in your collecting. Love it.
Loved this video Graig. I lost my dad when I was 17 and really wish I could’ve enjoyed collecting with him. Hope yall have fun at the National together
Coach, I could listen all day! I love your approach to the hobby, and it’s a total treat to get a view of collecting thru your expert eyes. I enjoyed this so much that I won’t even quibble with your criticism of the great Mets Hall of Famer, Casey Stengel.
Wilt would have been in the 90’s because he died in 1999. Wilt was a favorite of mine. I was fortunate to meet him twice in Hawaii in 1976 in a casual setting. He was very nice.
Great conversation with your Dad! Having had a big mind change myself this year, I did lose some thanks to eBay fees but it does help living in Oregon with no sales tax. Will be great to meet in person in less than a month!
Graig, believe it or not I’m still out here! What?! Your video is over?! Well, I guess I should probably mosey along then! Your dad is a fantastic communicator! It was a joy to hear your conversation! 😊
Your dad started collecting as a kid about the same time as I did. So we are probably about the same age. I look forward to meeting him at the National!
Like a lot of other people, I really enjoyed listening to your dad talk about his years of collecting. I think that is real cool how you and your Dad are going to the National. He thinks a lot like myself, except for one area and that's selling my cards to go after others. Thanks again and hope you have him on again.
Really enjoyable conversation - hadn't heard the Whitey Ford story before. Great stuff! Good to see you both at the Fairfield Show, talking cards & negotiation strategies! Enjoy the National👍
Graig, by the time your trained eye. Sees this comment. You will then have also seen the other comments who are saying they love your dad. More than they love you. So, no need for me to add on to the pile. Anymore than I...I mean they already have. An enjoyable hour. Thanks for sharing Mr. Miller. With us.
Just let your dad know there is at least one human being who still cracks cards in order for them to be raw- and he's typing this comment haha! Fun conversation with your Dad!
I did the same thing he did. I bought a PSA 8 slabbed Brett in 2000, at the time I was not collecting just saw it at the All Star fan fest and it reminded me of my youth, and broke it out because I hated the idea of slabbed cards. I resubmitted it in 2019 and it came back a PSA 6. The exact same card dropped two grades.
Another great video this week with your dad! A question for next week - I will be attending the National for the first time this year. I am looking at getting a 59’ Gibson, 56 Topps Mantle and/or 54’ Bowman Mantle while at the show. I have also purchased autograph tickets for Pete Rose and Johnny Bench. Do you have any tips for looking for these cards at the show? I hope to run in to you while at the show!
Questions for Graig's dad, do you still prefer raw cards, over graded? How about still collecting and enjoy collecting ''minor stars.'' Some of the unheralded players, that might have been over looked during their playing days career or not as remember much today. Biggest hobby pet peeves? What advice would you give to the younger generation who are new to the hobby, and don't have much money to spend. Maybe, the dollar box or ''bargain'' box good place to start? Do you spend any time looking thru those at card shows, too? Thank you.
Looking at the comments. Sounds like a hashtag. We've got here. #BetterThanGraig But, we're talking about Graig's dad being better. So, I think that should be fine.
Some sage advice from Dad! But would love to hear him talk less about TPGs and more about the actual cards. Way too much focus on grading these days. I bet your Dad would put the minimum wage PSA graders to shame.
I agree with your Dad, and especially with regard to PSA grading vintage. They are a complete clown show and crap shoot, and their non-existent customer service makes the first two things unacceptable to me. SGC and the gorgeous tux are vintage kings!
Midlife dad is so cool! He has unlimited wisdom and you're blessed to have the same hobby as your dad. Hope to see him on your channel more often!
He'll be on again. And...I agree, he's great.
Thanks for including your old man in your video. He had a great time.😃
Likewise.
Awesome interview!! Really enjoyed the discussion!! Thanks for the advice Mike! Maybe I should focus on about 100 key cards. Looking forward to the National guys!!
That National is gonna be a hoot.

Need more of this. Very informative.
You got it!
Love to hear from your Dad. These are my favorite videos. Appreciate both of you sharing your thoughts.
yup. mine too
Thanks Orlando.
Gave a video like. Always enjoy talks with your dad. Thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for this.

Such a great video! Can’t wait to see what your dad picks up at the National. Take care!
We'll have a fun wrap up video after the fact.
Loved this video Graig. I lost my dad when I was 17 and really wish I could’ve enjoyed collecting with him. Hope yall have fun at the National together
Sorry to hear that. The National will be a lot of fun.

Love the video with your Dad!! So much wisdom and sage advice!! Hope you will continue to have MidLife Dad a part of your channel!!
That's the plan!
Your Dad IS awesome
I agree.
This video was a treasure to watch!! Thank you for sharing this!
So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. He's a great guy.
Awesome video Graig! I feel like you’ve known your guest your whole life! 😉 I love that you share this awesome hobby with your father.
LOL. So true.
Just blasting through these epic eps! So great to hear from your dad on these topics. Loved this, Graig!
Awesome. I appreciate it my friend.
Great show ! Love listening to your dad tell stories & give opinions
Awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.

Good call. Must’ve been the year prior.
Your dad’s story about Whitey Ford was great. I always wondered why he had so few games most years.
My Dad lived through it and watched it and was frustrated by it.
Great show guys! Thanks
So glad you enjoyed it.
Great conversation with your Dad!

Those freaking Ebay fees are killer.

He's 74 years young.
So am I!

He's a great guy and we love talking cards together.
What a tremendous episode. Mike is the man! Graig you’re pretty cool too 😀
LOL. Thanks Adam!!
Very nice video ! Some great advice/thoughts from an experienced collector!!
Thanks so much. Glad you liked it.
This was fantastic, very entertaining and informative guys! 👊😃
Thanks so much. Super glad you enjoyed it!!
Really enjoyable conversation - hadn't heard the Whitey Ford story before. Great stuff! Good to see you both at the Fairfield Show, talking cards & negotiation strategies! Enjoy the National👍
Great seeing you as well, Warren. Great pickups from Mo!!
This was super fun, Graig. Thanks dad!
PSA does half grades, too. They just don’t have 9.5.
Yes...but it wasn't always that way. They started doing half grades about 10 years ago.
Graig, by the time your trained eye. Sees this comment. You will then have also seen the other comments who are saying they love your dad. More than they love you. So, no need for me to add on to the pile. Anymore than I...I mean they already have.

There's more truth in this comment than you knew there would be when you wrote it.
@@MidLifeCards Yeah I guess so lol.
Great interview with your Dad. I wish I was that smart… as him. 😂
Me too!!! LOL
Your father seems like a cool guy
He is.
I’ll be at the Fairfield card show tomorrow. Hope to see y’all there.
Great meeting you at the show.
Top 3 episode this year ! Mike is a LEGEND!
He's a great guy. No doubt.
Just let your dad know there is at least one human being who still cracks cards in order for them to be raw- and he's typing this comment haha!
Fun conversation with your Dad!
I love it. The look and feel is pretty awesome of raw cards.

But...."the standards haven't changed." At least that's what they're telling us.
Your daddy needs to get his own channel like yesterday.
I will subscribe to MidLife Daddy Sports Cards.
He prefers being a guest over being a host.
Another great video this week with your dad! A question for next week - I will be attending the National for the first time this year. You will see several of each of those cards at the national. When you see one that you like, be ready to pounce.
Very good video!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
Hey Graig! Love when you bring your dad on to share his collection and answer questions!
We're gonna try and do it more often.

@@MidLifeCards Thank you, Graig.
I can’t wait to meet you too Mr.Miller! I’ll buy you a double! Graig, you better do this monthly, I like your Dads answers better then yours! 🤣

He's got a great eye for cards.

Both owned by the same company. Hopefully, SGC won't follow suit, and see longer wait times, and increased fees, with their grading in the future.
@@ACD1994 Agree. The smart thing to do would be to dedicate SGC to vintage and PSA to modern, imho.
SGC's popularity seems to continue to grow.
22:25 Dead on insight
Lots of it.
Well you tried to make your dad long winded. FAIL. just kidding. Does your dad have lists or is it all in his head?
He doesn't write anything down...it's all in his head.
