  • This marks the last in a Bible Study series called "Origin Stories" based on the first eleven chapters of the Book of Genesis. Today, we take a deeper look at the story of Babel- a story of how human beings seek to remain united, sharing one common culture and tongue, and how God disrupts these plans.
This Bible study is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Owens (1953-2021), a friend and parishioner who died of cancer this year. Steve was a lover of language- a polyglot and a teacher of English to those who were learning it as a second language. He also loved the scriptures and helped me launch a Bible study program that is specially designed for students of the English language.
"Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Philippians 1:20-21).

Thank you so much for teaching on this subject Noah, and the Tower of Babble, that I just listened to before this teaching on BabbIe. I was just sharing with a neighbor Friday afternoon who’s interested in learning the Bible and called to ask me over to show her how to use the Bible. I also told her that she must seek for herself and not just listen to others or take my word, and deem it true. She must search the Word and God will begin to reveal Who He Is to her and How He works within her/us as she/we begin to have a one on one relationship with Him.

Is it יהוה will for humanity to realize an exile or dispersement felt through disobedience & in contrast a gathering back together through obedience. Veil removed by.
He has given us 7 lights that reveal overcoming 7 experiences in 7 communities. 7 periods of time that can pass over us before regaining our sanity. When clarity & fullness overcome us. The God of Israel is BIG! So much to learn & know to experience. This story continues- King David is introduced & given covalent. The kingdom is divided & will again in the future be untied into One ☝🏼 Our God is One! Peace be upon Jerusalem! Praise Adonai! Glory HalleluYah!

I appreciate your view from the scripture and your take away point. Would you be considering doing Bible study in this depth for Revelation?

Thanks for watching! The next sermon we're uploading is on a passage of scripture from Revelation (chapter 7:9-17, to be exact). I'm not sure I have time to tackle a full Bible study series on Revelation, though. At least not anytime soon.

So everyone spoke the same language before this? Asians, native Americans, Africans? And really, God thought bronze age shepherds could build a tower tall enough to reach heaven?

The people who built those Mesopotamian structures are long since gone. This would seem to indicate that ziggurats can be hazardous to your health. 🤭
