Absolutely one of the best install vids I've seen because the struggle is real! We all go through the same issues and use every tool we have to get it done. Looks awesome and great job!!!!
Pilot holes are recommended. Always try one out (without the bezel) to see if the screws will work OK. Then you won't risk marring the bezel. Still a good video of how not to do it. It's ok as long as you learn from your mistakes. Trying and failing = learning. That's a good thing. That's how I learned.

I give you full credit for showing all, and I felt your pain as I have struggled with small stainless screws on a similar project that snapped off and caused a PITA problem, cheap little POS's. If I made one suggestion always have the doors open so when you are flying across the lake and bouncing make sure the lid will blow shutif its not latched. In this case if it jiggled open it might damage the hinges. I have a 1448 that I'm going to do similiar. good job.
Nice mods! I know EXACTLY why your screws broke off, it's that driver and it has a ton of torque. I know this because I have the same exact Rigid as you do! 😁😁😁 I have resorted to drilling out practically everything I use my driver on. Ha ha ha

@@MichaelDavisOutdoorAdventures i did this in my boat and built a casting deck. My boat is more stable and gets on plane immediately. And It is less noisy at full speed now used to have many vibrations and squeek with people moving about.
@@drewgregory2370 putting foam into the seats can’t make the boat more stable and improve getting it onto plane. No buoyancy has changed as the foam is not displacing any water.
@@teeanahera8949 so you must be an engineer and boat builder , please examine why manufacturers use foam in boats then if it doesn't help with anything? I've used this process and copied brands like tracker and rangers boats . It dramatically improved the performance and handling in my boat and I added 70 plus pounds to the boat in materials and the boat is 2-3 miles an hour faster and is more stable in rough conditions. I understand the foam isn't directly contacting water and it's not water tight , it simply fills all the voids in the structures needed and stiffens the hull.

They are called ,Storage bins with removable tubs. You should call them and ask about them. At one time they were out of stock, so they removed them from the website.

Great clasp. Rigid interior shelves. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBrJOMRANMI82dPOK0qoDtHhP-JpbErUg Yeah the shelves sometimes get misaligned with their supports in the lid if you don't have the lid fully flat, or you twist the shelves as you're pulling them out, but pretty much a non issue; just reseat and you're fine. Some spools of thread are a little too big and cause the shelves to not close all the way, however with the clasp you can still get the lid locked if the shelves aren't completely collapsed without breaking things ... so far.
Friendly tip, you shouldn’t use stainless steel screws on aluminum. Stainless is corrosion resistant but not when it contacts aluminum. The two metals react with each other and actually cause corrosion over time.

I've lived on the Gulf of Mexico nearly my entire life. working on boats months at a time. I have never told any boaters what you had said just because a little styrofoam had been removed to install an dry storage or a live well... but happy safe boating to you bruh stay safe on all waters including your bathtub

I use steel ammo cans with 60lb double sided tape. Water proof, removable, and don't destroy you boat.

I did the same thing but I used motorhome side compartment doors. Waterproof and lockable. No bins. Cheap upgrade!!

You should remove the bins and use expanding foam in there. It not only helps the buoyancy, also sound deadening the hull.

I don't feel like it is dangerous because the front and rear still has styrofoam in them. And i almost always fish near the shore.

Why didn't you use a locking plier on the underside and just scewed the broken tips out further?
I actually tried that. The screws were almost flush on the bottom. It was definitely a struggle

Is why didn't you just unscrew the screw from the bottom side with the vice script pliers instead of the top same principle just different side

A good way to remove the foam floatation to make room for your storage box is to burn it out with a Bienzymatic propane torch.
