Shaped By Fire was produced by the band and was mixed by Joseph McQueen at Sparrow Sound in Los Angeles, CA while mastering was completed by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in Nashville, TN. The only exception was for the track “My Own Grave” which was produced by AS I LAY DYING, co-produced by Drew Fulk and mixed by Adam “Nolly” Getgood. The artwork was created by Corey Meyers.

AS I LAY DYING will then close the year with a U.S. tour this November - December with support from AFTER THE BURIAL and EMMURE.

In my case, the song really left big impressions on me because of everything they said in the video. Damn. I dare to say I cried tears of joy
The day they posted it still gives me chills. I thought AILD was gone forever and then a buddy sent me a screen shot that showed they changed their cover photo on FB. I about shit myself and instantly went to their page. And BOOM theres a new song and video!! I was seriously blown the fuck away. That song will always hold that memory of pure fucking excitement.
My own grave is the first song I ever heard of you guys, and I think it's really funny that you said "you had no expectations", because I really think it's one of the best songs you ever did!

IfAs I Lay Dying were in the Star Wars universe, they would be Cal Kestis because they were brave and strong at the beginning, then Order 66 happened, but instead of completely falling apart, they came back stronger than ever.
Tim's guns :o
I was VERY angry when the band came back. And I was very angry after the video they made talking together. Nothing seemed like anything was cared about with the main issue...the fact Tim was put in prison for solicitation of murder. I swore I'd never listen to this band again, especially since I didn't see anything that was shining on Tim's wife and his children (those who were hurt the most). I hated Tim for doing what he did, and the unknown thought that if he succeeded, would've meant a whole different outcome in this story.
Fast forward, and I saw the efforts that Tim has made to make amends and to help others on his path of rehabilitation (the video title escapes me, but it's on RUclips). And my thoughts and feelings instantly changed.
It showed that Tim indeed wrote to his wife and kids and apologized (a post on the socials I never saw), and it showed that he was helping others not fall along the same path he did as well as helping those who strayed down the wrong path. He's helping those individuals and in turn, helping himself.
My mind has changed, and AILD is back in my life in full force. I understand fully of why the band is back together, and now hearing this music...well, it's something very profound and special.

Yeah I'm not surprised. I'm sure most people prefer AILD to Wovenwar, but it has a special place in my heart as Shane Blay was already my favorite clean vocalist at the time WW formed. Hearing him work with the AILD musicians is the ultimate dream team in my mind (I also think that the guitar melodies on the first WW album were some of Nick and Phils best songwriting to date). To each his own, of course :)
