Great video Jason (as always 😊). Yes, I would love to see an OC GPU ‘how to’ video. I use the Adrenaline OC feature on my 7900xtx but would love to learn how to manually tweak to get max performance. Also really loved your last video what to do after you build and how to optimize CPU/RAM. Great stuff man thanks again to you and the team!!
Generally speaking you lower your voltage as much as possible until you see video errors while bench marking, then you want to raise your vram speed with the same logic and maybe increase wattage/ power consumption to stabilize those higher speeds and you’re all set, for example my 6650xt has 1120mv instead of 1200mv and I have a 3000mhz clock speed and 10% more wattage to stabilize it and I got like 10 frames on my lows in a benchmark
according to Computerbase, the 7800X3D draws around 60-64W during Gaming and the RTX4090 when undervolted and limited to 144fps (many Gamers have 144Hz Monitors), draws only 110W during Gaming. So a 1000W PSU is overkill. A Good 850W PSU would do just fine.
As usual, Jason, you do a great job in explaining people's options. Indeed, most who choose to purchase this CPU are going to spend nearly $3K, or more, for all the accompanying components.
So glad AMD was being dramatic about a 280 MM AIO requirement for 7800X3D. Most reviews iv seen today all say they had no problem keeping this CPU cool.
WoW the detail in component selection is just the best. Two comments would be to actually show all details for the water cooler setup and install as well as connecting all the cables to the MoB and components. I know this is probably boring for experienced builders but for folks like myself that are considering to do their first build at some point I think it would add much for the less experienced. Perhaps just a video on this as a standalone would be a way to go. Why? Because it's obvious you are showing us how to do things right starting with matching the components and then the install to get the best performance. I think this is the build I will be saving up for! Thx so much Jason! Well Done!
Another outstanding video. Since discovering your channel and subscribing your content has not ceased to amaze me. Providing different price points for different builds with links to the different components is a time consuming endeavor. I truly appreciate what you do.
I was planning on building an I5 13600k system, but then found out the majority of the motherboards use a faulty Intel LAN controller, have been for years, that routinely drops internet connections, so decided to go the AMD route, as they use a Realtek lan controller instead of an Intel one. Basically the same price.
Would love to see your build for Sim heavy games such as Dwarf Fortress, Factorio or Stellaris where CPU and RAM is everything. In those cases GPU are almost unimportant to late game performance.
I got a 7800x3d pre-built without the gpu for $1200 last week and i didnt even know the 7800x3d was this good😭 i thought it was like the 5800x3d just a little better. i paired it with a 7800 xt and i was so surprised when i ran high graphics on asseto corsa and saw 99% gpu usage while only 20% cpu usage. I get the graphics card does most of the work on the gaming end but before i even got the gpu, i got 250-360 fps on fortnite with nothing but the cpu/iGpu(7800x3d has an integrated gpu inside it) i was literally playing on ps5 level performance with only the cpu no graphics card😊 now i have all this power but $7 in my bank acc with an old 60hz 1080p monitor🥲 Monitor bottleneck💀😭
bro the cpu is fire capable of a ok gaming experience on hd without a gpu but is also flabergasting for a 4k/1440p experience with a high end gpu and buddy hope u save up for a better monitor so you can enjoy that experiecne
7800X3D + B650 Tomahawk (I need to 9 USB ports for flight sim gear) + 48GB 7000 (@6000) RA which was fine but settled on 64GB Kingston 40-40-40 5600Mhz with Hynix chips. Now running 30-38-38 with Buildzoids tight secondary timings. The better tuned RAM actually made quite a little bit of differnce when CPU limted in both War Thunder and DCS.
I want to build with the same motherboard. How's the experience brother? Is it good? Does it have some problems? Some people said that b650 is bad for 7800x3d, How's the performance?
I just started build this exact build switched out the GPU for the RTX 4090. The question I had is what if I wanted to use this for content creation? I seen multiple m.2 slots. I did read that plugging in multiple m.2 can cut your cords in half on you GPU. I’ve been trying to figure out which one not to use and can’t find. It. I figured I would go to the source that helped me build my first cpu. Thanks for your time.
Another great PC build by Jason. Always prioritizing performance and aesthetics while not breaking the bank too much. Btw, you have answered my question on last month's Q&A regarding DDR5 ram speeds.
You make a great recommendation about when not to get a 7800X3D if you have anything but a high end card. So many well-known hardware channels show the "amazing performance boost" of a 7800X3D at 1080p with a 4090, but never give you anything that applies to the real world.
Using the same TeamGroup CL30 6000 kit with a Gigabtye B650 Aorus Elite AX. Running at 6000mhz 30-36-36-30 with Buildzoid's secondary timings for Hynix M-Die DDR5 memory IC's. Yes, TRAS at 30 not 76. I am certain secondary timings will improve any RAM kit. I have yet to try to OC the primary timings but I might be able to lower them some more. Also, Gigabyte has always has better memory support than other brands for me. I had an ASUS that struggled. Gigabyte and MSI do the best for Ryzen.
Nice! TEAMGROUP 5600 CL32 and 6000 CL30 are great price to performance options for RAM, especially if you're into OC. With the 5600 CL32 kit, I've run them at 6000 MT/s 30-36-36-76 @1.3V and 6200 MT/s stock timings @ 1.3V. I haven't really pushed them farther yet. Done on an MSI MPG B650 Edge WiFi

I kinda hate that they detuned this cpu so that it wouldn't blow its own bigger brothers away too bad, but it's cool just how energy efficient and cool it runs.
Have to drop in and confirm the Peerless Assassin CPU cooler. It's a big boi but my CPU has yet to get even mildly warm with it. Also I just built my rig with the Lancool 216 and it was a blast to build in. There are a couple of minor tweaks I would make to it that would just take it to the next level . I'm very happy with it regardless.
@@milesmoore8718 I know Jason would be a more reputable source than I but in my humble opinion it'll do just fine. The power efficiency is really good and the PA should keep up.
I think 13600K is better because ddr5 price double that of ddr4 so I don't want to waste money not only on a more expensive CPU and ram but also get Less productivity performance out of it
In 2 years if you want something better you need to buy all your PC parts for a new socket. With AM5 you will buy only the best amd CPU.On my math you will spend twice the money and let's be honests 7800x3d mop the floor in gaming with 13600k and is more power eficient.
@@sosofms brother DDR5 price difference is170 dollar in regards to ddr4 in my region plus I want to do productivity besides that at 4K the performance difference is negligible and at the end of the day I'm going to upgrade 4-5years later so by then the now ddr5 is going to be trash I don't see a reason to spend 300 dollars more for ddr5 and 7800x3d for worse performance in productivity and negligible performance bump in 4K ultra gaming

Hey Jason, this is the path that I'm going to follow in building my AMD Gaming Computer. Returning my Intel parts for AMD parts. Thanks for making this turn-key video, it's awesome.
This is almost exactly what I just ordered as pre-built, but I got the CORSAIR iCUE H150i ELITE RGB High Performance CPU Cooler (360mm) which seems to be overkill, and I also got the 32GB DDR 6000mhz, which also seems like overkill. I could have saved some money if I had watched this video before ordering...

It was an extremely well-put-together video, and even a year later, it is still assisting me. Thank you for the detailed breakdown and organization of the part list. It makes purchasing and organizing compatible parts that much easier.
I got the X670 Aorus Elite AX motherboard for my 7800X3D. Im using a 4070ti for now until i see what the 50 series cards are like. I only really play Battlefield and Dayz lol and even with ray tracing at 4K i get well over 60FPS in BF. Looks and plays so much better than my Series X

I built a new PC on a ROG STRIX B650E-F motherboard went with a AMD Ryzen™ 7 7700X and for memory I went with GIGABYTE AORUS 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 5200MHz CL40. I have had no issues as of yet other then the first CPU was dead out of the box. I decided to only fill two DIMM slots as I wanted to avoid memory issues on the AM5 platform. Great video kind of wishing I had the extra 400.00 USD at the time to have the exact same build as seen here. I too went with a Lancool 216 it's a great case and it was so easy to build in plus the price was very competitive. I'm planning on upgrading the GPU when I can save up some more money. I went with a Rx6750 XT and at 1440p with two monitors it's been great. I was the first of my group of friends to upgrade to AM5 and can pass the savings along to a friend when I upgrade the GPU. Hope you love your new PC as much as I do can't wait for the next video cheers!
i got myself Ryzen 5 7600x Asus TUF B650 plus and xpg 6000mhz 16GB ram , so no compatibility issues at all and its faster than i expected but market prices here are disgusting compared to USA.

Right now I’m running B350F Or would there be any difference at all? Really appreciate you taking the time thanks brother.
This really beats the Linus review. You took the time to show the component matching that makes a difference and more importantly, the parts that do not.
ram benchmarks were so boring they were interesting. i want to see a game that min maxes RAM like crazy stuff you cant even handle unless you have 64 GB. As a demo free thing. ty for vid
Okay, so came here after your recommendation in a community post. My god. Thank you so much for explaining everything. This is amazing to learn the ins and outs on what to look for and what to build in a PC and get the best bang for your buck. Probably will pull the trigger in May on this build, but I'm really looking forward to this. On a second note, can you go even higher on RAM? Or is it unnecessary due to how strong everything else is. Yes, I am using this for gaming/streaming, so this is right up my alley. It also looks amazing. Thank you, Jason, for your hard work and research.
So glad you enjoyed! You can go higher on the ram but I wouldn't spend money on it. It doesn't make a difference in performance and doesn't do anything for future proofing (:

Over clocking explanation/tutorial video would be amazing!!! Thanks again for everything Jason and family!!!!
according to Computerbase, the 7800X3D draws around 60-64W during Gaming and the RTX4090 when undervolted and limited to 144fps (many Gamers have 144Hz Monitors), draws only 110W during Gaming. So a 1000W PSU is overkill. A Good 850W PSU would do just fine.
agreed
I have a 750 watt and im tossing that in with that bad boy
As usual, Jason, you do a great job in explaining people's options. Indeed, most who choose to purchase this CPU are going to spend nearly $3K, or more, for all the accompanying components.
Much appreciated!
I would love to see a GPU OC guide in the near future, Jason...in the meantime, kutgw and the videos coming!
Well Done!
Thanks so much and thanks for the feedback!
Another outstanding video. Since discovering your channel and subscribing your content has not ceased to amaze me. Providing different price points for different builds with links to the different components is a time consuming endeavor. I truly appreciate what you do.
Thank you so much for that feedback, glad you appreciate all the hard work! Love that we can help, so thank you for watching. :)
Is the MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI Motherboard ok for 7800x3d and 4090??????
I was planning on building an I5 13600k system, but then found out the majority of the motherboards use a faulty Intel LAN controller, have been for years, that routinely drops internet connections, so decided to go the AMD route, as they use a Realtek lan controller instead of an Intel one. Basically the same price.
Would love to see your build for Sim heavy games such as Dwarf Fortress, Factorio or Stellaris where CPU and RAM is everything. In those cases GPU are almost unimportant to late game performance.
RAM compatibility: MSI B650M Mortar with Patriot Viper venom 5600 2x16. No issues at all. XMP profiles all work well and was able to go up to 6000.
I get the graphics card does most of the work on the gaming end but before i even got the gpu, i got 250-360 fps on fortnite with nothing but the cpu/iGpu(7800x3d has an integrated gpu inside it) i was literally playing on ps5 level performance with only the cpu no graphics card😊
now i have all this power but $7 in my bank acc with an old 60hz 1080p monitor🥲
Monitor bottleneck💀😭
bro the cpu is fire capable of a ok gaming experience on hd without a gpu but is also flabergasting for a 4k/1440p experience with a high end gpu and buddy hope u save up for a better monitor so you can enjoy that experiecne
Did you have to do bios flashback?
I want to build with the same motherboard. How's the experience brother? Is it good? Does it have some problems? Some people said that b650 is bad for 7800x3d, How's the performance?
This is my DREAM build 😍😍😍😍
I've been so excited for this one, and the build turned out great!
@@PCBuilderChannel hallelujah brother ❤️🍻
Thanks Rogue!!
It was great to get some serious testing done with DDR5 too
You make a great recommendation about when not to get a 7800X3D if you have anything but a high end card. So many well-known hardware channels show the "amazing performance boost" of a 7800X3D at 1080p with a 4090, but never give you anything that applies to the real world.
Thanks! Yes we are big on price to performance!
Where can I find buildzoids timings for the cl28 5600 rams?
Absolutely would love to see an over clocking video. 😊
Good to see you building a top class kick ass rig, Jason! I cant afford these components but its still good to see.
Thank you, it's powerful indeed! Hope you keep enjoying all the content :)
8:14 is really what made me wanna comment on this video. Great job man, a lot of stuff in a short amount of time that is concise and to the point with consumers in mind.
I kinda hate that they detuned this cpu so that it wouldn't blow its own bigger brothers away too bad, but it's cool just how energy efficient and cool it runs.
how cool it runs is cooler than cool :)
Love your videos. ANd this one is the one I was really looking for as I intent to build my 7800x3d system.
Thanks for sharing!!
I'm planning on using that cooler for the 7800x3d. No problems you think right?
@@milesmoore8718 I know Jason would be a more reputable source than I but in my humble opinion it'll do just fine. The power efficiency is really good and the PA should keep up.
Can’t wait for this December. I’m building my first ever pc for my birthday 7900xt paired with 7800x3D 🤩
Exciting!!
I think 13600K is better because ddr5 price double that of ddr4 so I don't want to waste money not only on a more expensive CPU and ram but also get Less productivity performance out of it
Agreed. It still looks like the 13600K is the best all around performer for the price.
@@zingwilder9989 bro I had a question about which motherboard I should choose should go for a gigabyte Z690 aero g ddr4 or MSI/gigabyte Z790
@@zingwilder9989 bro I'm going to buy 64gb of ram and in My region g skill ripsaws ddr4 3200 cl16 32gb is 88 dollars I'm going buy 2 kits for 175 and ripsaws ddr5 6000 cl32 32gb is 176 dollars so the price is double so I'm not going for that I'm really pissed with gigabyte gigabyte made the Z690 aero g ddr4 but for Z790 it doesn't have a ddr4 version so I'm conflicted about which to buy
Hey Jason, this is the path that I'm going to follow in building my AMD Gaming Computer. Returning my Intel parts for AMD parts. Thanks for making this turn-key video, it's awesome.
haha nice! So glad this was helpful! And thank you for being a channel member!
I'm at work and can't watch this just yet, but I cannot wait to watch this once I have a chance. Nerd senses are tingling! 😬
i copied this exact build but replaced the 7900xtx with a rtx 4090FE. Good stuff, jason. i am so excited!
Jason keeps on stealing viewers from other tech channels, most tech channels are dying and screaming for views while Jason casually keeps on growing like mad!
Good job man keep it up
We are growing fast and appreciate the support! Hope you keep enjoying the content.
It was an extremely well-put-together video, and even a year later, it is still assisting me. Thank you for the detailed breakdown and organization of the part list. It makes purchasing and organizing compatible parts that much easier.
So glad its helpful!! Thank you for the feedback it means a lot
I am so hyped. I will do a new pc build in the next days, waiting for my cpu to arrive. I will do a video,as it will be my best pc ever. For that I bought:
An
- asus x670E-A Gaming wifi mobo
- Msi 4090 suprim x
-7800x3d
-Kingston fury 64gb 6000mhz ram
-Lian li lancool 3 case
-an arctic liquid freezer 2 420mm aio
-several nvmes pcie 7000mbit/s
-sleeved cables from cable mod
It will be a complete black/white/silver build 🔥
What did it cost? Everything
Seriously some the the most detailed, to the point pc videos I’ve ever seen on this platform, plenty of info, thanks
So glad you enjoyed this one. Happy to help, you're very welcome :)
I have seen several of your videos before my upcoming first PC Build. Thank you so much. I love how direct you are. Always think about what works for most gamers and talk about different price points. Thank you
B650 TUF Gaming Plus, 6000 CL36 Gskill Flare EXPO enabled (R 7700 non-x PBO enabled) No issues with the RAM and gotten 19150 score on CineBench R23 multi core and 1965 single core.
Roast my build. 7900x, asus rog b650 e-f gaming wifi (nightmare rms experience), Tuf 4090, t-force 6200mhz, 2tb Samsung 980 pro nvm2, LL Galllahad, evga 1000w super nova power supply. I play on 120htz Samsung 4k 65' TV. I built it in February. Dealing w asus was a nightmare. I went through 3 sets of ram on the qvl before the rms. I am 99% sure they just flashed a bios that wasn't available to the public at the time. It's a beast of a machine. The case is awesome if you can look past the fact that only one of the front USB a ports work unless you buy the extra front IO option which I couldn't find at the time. It outperforms my "monitor" as far as framerate. I get a solid 120 4k, and the cpu rarely breaks 70°. It cost almost as much as my used car
Recently stumbled into a job making more money than i know how to spend and decided to build my first ever pc and one of my friends that knows gaming rigs recommended this cpu, this vid is really helpful for finding good references for the rest of the parts
Glad you found this video useful! Thanks so much for tuning in! And good luck with your build :)
I ordered a 7800X3D and a Gigabyte 4090 aero OC last week. Current in the shop getting upgrades for my war machine
That's going to be epic!!
This build is pretty much what I plan on getting later this year
Oh and I'm using a DeepCool LS720 SE digital edition AIO and oc'd and expo'd the highest temp I've seen is 79* in starfield at 240 mhz running over 200 FPS. Love this DeepCool! Montech 95 case
Great video, love your detail of every component (with chapters) and no shilling
Thank you for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed the video!
My mouth watered when you slid that 7900xtx into the camera frame :)
Its a nice GPU! (;
Awsome video, I've been looking for some real detailed specifications about the 7800x3D for a long time, so happy that i found ur content. This definly helped me out and emphasise what i saw on my researches, gonna build up my budget with all this in mind, thank you so much!!
So glad it was helpful! Best wishes on your build!
Thanks for sharing!
I would love to see a GPU over clocking video both from amd and nvidia!! I’ve always been hesitant to try too much myself with it
i got myself Ryzen 5 7600x Asus TUF B650 plus and xpg 6000mhz 16GB ram , so no compatibility issues at all and its faster than i expected but market prices here are disgusting compared to USA.
Thank you for that update! Congrats on the build!
With everything going on with the LTT. You really are the only one I trust you’ve always give me the right answers and I do appreciate it. I have a 5803 DX what motherboard plays well with this CPU. Right now I’m running B350F Or would there be any difference at all? Really appreciate you taking the time thanks brother.
My 7800X3D just came in! Thanks for the tips and I LOVE seeing that cute black cat in your vids ☺😍🥰
Amazing, enjoy it! And the cat says thank you :)
Love this dudes builds and info. Great to see someone who is very helpful for others, who may be a little scared of trying their own builds
So glad its helpful! Thank you for watching
This really beats the Linus review. You took the time to show the component matching that makes a difference and more importantly, the parts that do not.
Thanks so much for the feedback! We appreciate that.
now this is what i want to see, the 5800X3D succesor and seems pretty good.
We were really excited to test this one out (:
Overclocking yes , I think we will see a test bench soon 😅. Great performance 👏
What direction are your fans blowing? Front two are intake, is the top exhaust and the back exhaust?
Jason is a crazy positive human being. All the best to you sir, you're a gem.
Thanks so much! Gotta keep it positive! :D
I am waiting for this build since December 2022, great to finaly see it 😃
Me too! And I'm really happy with how the build turned out (:
ram benchmarks were so boring they were interesting. i want to see a game that min maxes RAM like crazy stuff you cant even handle unless you have 64 GB.
@PCBuilderChannel Okay, I don't know much about Liquid Cooling vs Air Cooling, is there a difference between them besides the obvious that one uses some type of water?
Jason, this video helped alot!
My build used the Asus Rog Strix B650E-E Gaming Wifi with Gskill Flare X5 6000 Cl30 2x16gb. I haven't had any issues with the ram! I am planning on buying the XFX 310 Merc Speedster (7900 XTX).
Thank you so much Jason, I'm doing this as my first build and was tearing my hair out over choosing the right b series motherboard, thank you for your guidance!
So glad we could help!!
Great video, couple question… 1000w or 1200w for a 7800x3d and 4080 or 4090? And does a b650 board matter? Msi tomahawk or carbon? Thanks!
Would you consider making a raid with your SSDs? maybe 2 2TB
Your channel has helped me tremendously with my current build. Your no bullshit proper explanation of things in an easy to understand format is unlike any other channel I've come across. Great work Jason (and cat)
Thank you so much for the great feedback!
Love how enthusiastic he is it actually keeps me intrigued
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching

So happy I found your channel I just subscribed you explain things terrific and answer every question someone would want to ask. Phenomenal.
What brand cable extensions do you get? Love the build. Thank you for your time.

That's great to hear! Thanks for the feedback it means a lot
Great video! I just built a very similar rig based on the X670E, Ryzen 7800X3D, DDR5 6000Mhz CL30 EXPO RAM and RX 7900XTX for my SIM Racing rig! Killer FPS on triple 2K 165Hz IPS screens! Couldn't be happier! ❤
