But in this instance these are Australian magpies, and they are very different to Australian crows too. The magpies and crows in Australia are very different again to their European cousins. When Australia was settled, scholars documented the flora and fauna after European species. There are native Oak trees (Silky Oak) however, they are infact not Oak trees at all, they are similar. Same goes with the maggies and crows. I wouldn't expect anyone to know this, unless they have been to Australia.

To be fair, he's actually right in that Magpies, Crows, Ravens, etc., all belong to the Corvidae family. So he was on the right track, but I'm pretty sure they're still considered separate species and can't interbreed.

Julien has a great structure for his Twitch chat so people don’t bug him as much with the same questions over and over. Especially so people don’t spam the chat with millions of questions about Jenna. People are there to see Julien, and he’s set that expectation so people respect his requests. He’s really set the tone for the chat to make things fun for everyone. The chat is pretty respectful of his privacy because he is great about establishing boundaries regarding topics that he’s not comfortable discussing, he has mods who help keep things positive, he has the stream bots that respond to various “!command” settings, he uses a discord for sorting different topics that are off-topic from the chat, and the chat holds each other accountable otherwise with other questions that he may not feel like addressing or he may not see the question right away. He’s been so great about establishing those boundaries and expectations for how he connects with his chat, and it stays really enjoyable the whole stream. It’s a great community. 💖

Its because crows in Sweden are a different species ( hooded crow) that look similar to magpies
But in this instance these are Australian magpies, and they are very different to Australian crows too. The magpies and crows in Australia are very different again to their European cousins. When Australia was settled, scholars documented the flora and fauna after European species. There are native Oak trees (Silky Oak) however, they are infact not Oak trees at all, they are similar. Same goes with the maggies and crows. I wouldn't expect anyone to know this, unless they have been to Australia.

To be fair, he's actually right in that Magpies, Crows, Ravens, etc., all belong to the Corvidae family. So he was on the right track, but I'm pretty sure they're still considered separate species and can't interbreed.
Crows in Sweden are not all black, they belong to the species Hooded crow (Corvus cornix) and they are light gray and black, look similar to magpies

Julien has a great structure for his Twitch chat so people don’t bug him as much with the same questions over and over. Especially so people don’t spam the chat with millions of questions about Jenna. People are there to see Julien, and he’s set that expectation so people respect his requests. He’s really set the tone for the chat to make things fun for everyone. The chat is pretty respectful of his privacy because he is great about establishing boundaries regarding topics that he’s not comfortable discussing, he has mods who help keep things positive, he has the stream bots that respond to various “!command” settings, he uses a discord for sorting different topics that are off-topic from the chat, and the chat holds each other accountable otherwise with other questions that he may not feel like addressing or he may not see the question right away. He’s been so great about establishing those boundaries and expectations for how he connects with his chat, and it stays really enjoyable the whole stream. It’s a great community. 💖
