"Chop" of Sevendust's Kill the Flaw album is incredible and in my opinion one of their best songs ever. "Home" was the album that got me into these guys in highschool. Love me some Sevendust.
Yep definitely one of their best! Live Again from Animosity is the song that introduced me to them and it's a good one! It's often overlooked but it has a good message; a necessary message. Please react to more Sevendust!!
Oh and thanks for this, never listened to this band usually it's us trying to give you new music to listen but I been bumping this all morning never heard of it before this
My best friend's big sister, who I had a huge crush on, gave me this CD for my birthday when I was 13. Really opened the gates of metal for me at the time.
It's MegaDETH! (GOOGLE) Megadeath (or megacorpse) is a term for one million human deaths, usually caused by a nuclear explosion. The term was used by scientists and thinkers who strategized likely outcomes of all-out nuclear warfare. The term "Megadeath" stuck with Mustaine and he wrote a song with the spelling slightly changed to Megadeth, which, according to Mustaine, represented the annihilation of power.
This is the song that got me into sevendust...i actually heard it on a ATV videogame..on repeat the entire game because you had the option to make the playlist of the songs they offer and I just had this song on repeat ha.great song great breakdown VINandSORI🤘🏽🤘🏽
I saw Nonpoint with Sevendust, Filter, Audioslave, Mushroomhead and a couple other bands. Nonpoint completely blew Sevendust out of the water based on energy and performance.
Their debut album was definitely their best in my opinion. More raw and heavy. A quick story too ;) When I was in High School, I was in a funny back and forth with a rap lover, it was all good natured roasting. Well, one of his "zingers" was that metal or heavy rock is only for white guys. I played this at lunch the next day and put a poster of the band on his locker. I won. ;D
LJ is hands down one of the most soulful singers in metal. Sori seems to gravitate towards the slower emotional songs, so maybe listen to got a feeling or skeleton song by Sevendust. Or if you want to see how there are still hitting it just is hard listen to dirty from the album that was just released.
Don't know if you two have heard of powerwolf but they're a great band and really play with some quite interesting yet campy themes based around religion , if you do have time to check them out it would make my week and make sure you take a look at their new album
Hed Pe's song Stand Up feat Lajon of Sevendust, & please some Hed Pe songs, Renegade, Suffa, Hill, Here and Now, IFO or Feel Good feat Serj from SOAD & Morgan from Kittie. Thx.
Sevendust: Angel's Son Lajon wrote this for James Lynn Straight (singer for the band Snot) after he was killed in a car crash. Very very touching song. You will LOVE it.
Pantera-Floods, Slayer-Ghosts of War, Devastation-Deliver the Suffering, Kreator - Awakening of the Gods, Stevie Ray Vaughan - Voodoo Chile (Slight Return) - 9/21/1985 - Capitol Theatre, Passaic, NJ
New Atheist (former Muslim) viewer loving your videos but I am surprised you have not reacted to powerwolf yet. It is power metal with Catholic and Satanic influence with some inclusion of vampires and werewolves it sounds super confusing but I think you would enjoy it. I would recommend the song Sanctified with dynamite, hope you will take it into recommendation
When I saw them, they were touring with Creed, who was supposed to open that night. Scott Stapp said he was sick and they couldn't perform, so they got Mudvayn to open. Come to find out, Stapp was out playing golf, and not actually sick, and were promptly kicked off the tour. LaJon dedicated this to Creed that night.
Main vocalist is indeed a talented black man, but one of the white guitarist often sings some of the very good parts too. The drummer will also sing, but he is mostly the screeches and screams. :) So they got a bit of that Beatles type things where there are many singers. Angel's Son is way mellower than this but a pretty good example of different vocals... also beautiful and powerful song. Good job as usual guys. Get better.... Red Bull while you are sick?
I got hooked on your channel 2 days ago, I think, from the Cradle of Filth "Her Ghost In The Fog" reaction video. So, yesterday I was enjoying My morning coffee looking at you guys and My sister calls asking Me if mother called. "No, why?" She sounded gloomy and scared. "Dad had a heart attack, he is in the hospital in Hinkley. All I know is not going well." So I did laps around the house while talking to My girlfriend, then I calmed down, thinking My grandparents had heart problems and 6-7 heart attacks and took medication, it kept them alive for about 20-30 years. The phone rings and mom said in a clear, empty voice: "Felix, your father is dead." Apparently he died the night before after 4 hours of doctors trying to stabilize them. He even joked that these guys take it seriously, they should be payed way more, because he is just fine. Now, after a very intense and stressful yesterday in which I had to get all the family together and "be tough" for the other guys and ladies (I just want to scream and shout and cry, but maybe I am in shock still, whenever it crosses My mind to call him in UK about the France-Croatia football Final game I freeze and realize I cannot), all I can do is wait. So, I am back here. I did all the preparations, sent some cousins from London to stand by her and I am waiting for Monday to get the plane tickets and go to mother. Yesterday, just after I found out that a true genius, singer, author, poet, My loving father and role model and selflessly giving everything he had to others on a weekly basis, uniting people of all backgrounds just because his presence was so strong that is came so easy for him to do that with an idea, a topic, a joke or a surprise guitar show... I remembered what song got Me through My grandmother's death: Cradle of Filth - Sleeples. It's a cover, but this expresses the feelings much better in My opinion. For everyone who ever missed a loved one, let this song heal you! As for Our lovely Christians, Sori and Vin, I would like you to listen to it sometimes. Let Me know what you feel! This is My bandage. Have and amazing day and spread the love and understanding!
Really awesome song. Yea its pretty basic. I'd still give this an 8.5 though just on the strength of the vocals, the groove and the chorus. In Sori's defense the last time she said "woah!" was that Dimmu Borgir song, also the Vektor song and a few others. I think in those cases it was the element of suprise. Likely if she listened to another Vektor song, like with Ne Obliviscaris it might get a 10 but probably not a "Woah!" To me I always assumed this song was about a relationship that was broken because of coke addiction. Someone won't admit they have a problem (denial) and as a result it has left them all alone. Probably there was an intervention and the aftermath went very badly. I've seen that shit happen. Its not pretty. You guys really need to check out King's X -"Over My Head" if you love this. Its like the chorus vocals but all throughout plus with alot more complicated riffs, solos and some moderate prog elements. Their Singer and Bass player Doug was a one time gospel singer and brings that killer soulful voice to their stuff. Also the usual required recommendation for Allegaeon-Proponent For Sentience III: The Extermination. It will probably get a "Woah!" from Sori :D
Heres a couple of songs you guys may like to break down. 'Stairway To Heaven' by Led Zeppelin, and 'Dont Fear the Reaper' by Blue Oyster Cult. They are a classic 70s songs that are huge even today.
Thank you for this! You gotta do "Angel's Son" by Sevendust! Powerful and emotional! Also, you should check out "Dark Days" by Parkway Drive! Heavy with meaningful lyrics!
7Dust has returned!!!!!Ok if you do Angels Son please do a Snot song before it.Absent,Snooze Button or I Just Lie.Oh and if you ask to ask why then you don't know what the song is about.Great video keep em coming.
I've never liked them but I loved the breakdown! I also believe safe spaces are dangerous. Debate and confrontation, when done properly are character building and important.
Get well soon Vin! You two have to check out: Rise of the North Star - Here comes the Boom, It sounds like a come back of late 90's/2000's Rap Metal... but ten times more awesome 🤘🤘
GET ON THE NOTHING MORE TRAIN YOU GUYS!! seriously though any of their songs you could review are incredible and have such deep and powerful lyrics like Jenny, Fadein/Fadout, Ripping Me Apart, and so many more!!!!!!
Another excellent review! I'm going to check out some more Sevendust. I'm finding all kinds of new music to listen to thanks to you guys. I still recommend Judas by Fozzy :) I'm listening to Wormwood, also by Fozzy, right now. It's a super long song (13:51 - too long for a reaction I think) but I think you'd find it interesting.

RadioRock? Guys... so much time to just call it "Confirmation Bias"? Wikipedia dudes: Confirmation bias, also called confirmatory bias or myside bias,[Note 1] is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.[1] It is a type of cognitive bias and a systematic error of inductive reasoning. People display this bias when they gather or remember information selectively, or when they interpret it in a biased way. The effect is stronger for emotionally charged issues and for deeply entrenched beliefs. Confirmation bias is a variation of the more general tendency of apophenia. People also tend to interpret ambiguous evidence as supporting their existing position. Biased search, interpretation and memory have been invoked to explain attitude polarization (when a disagreement becomes more extreme even though the different parties are exposed to the same evidence), belief perseverance (when beliefs persist after the evidence for them is shown to be false), the irrational primacy effect (a greater reliance on information encountered early in a series) and illusory correlation (when people falsely perceive an association between two events or situations). A series of psychological experiments in the 1960s suggested that people are biased toward confirming their existing beliefs. Later work re-interpreted these results as a tendency to test ideas in a one-sided way, focusing on one possibility and ignoring alternatives. In certain situations, this tendency can bias people's conclusions. Explanations for the observed biases include wishful thinking and the limited human capacity to process information. Another explanation is that people show confirmation bias because they are weighing up the costs of being wrong, rather than investigating in a neutral, scientific way. However, even scientists can be prone to confirmation bias.[2] Confirmation biases contribute to overconfidence in personal beliefs and can maintain or strengthen beliefs in the face of contrary evidence. Poor decisions due to these biases have been found in political and organizational contexts.[3][4]
Y'all should check out Wrust- Hate 'Em All. They're a Botswanan metal band, and I thought you'd like to check out something from the motherland. Mortal Soul-Solace is also good, they're kenyan but I believe they're technically metalcore?
listen to "death" please it is the best death metal band ever i would recommend "crystal mountain", "symbolic" or "pull the plug" And on a side note there is also this band called Mustasch wich is a great heavy metal band from sweden they have some bangers like "double nature", "hound from hell" or "bring me everyone" :)
I love logging in and seeing that you guys uploaded a new video! You're so cute together and you make one of the best music analyst pair on youtube. ♥ You should really check out Mushroomhead - We Are The Truth (Music Video). That one's recent and I think you guys will have a lot of fun picking that one apart. xD
I think Sori is expecting songs that are more of a journey when they get hyped up. Most nu-metal was closer to pop than prog. A lot more simplicity and catchiness in the riffs, verses, and choruses is about all that you can expect. At the time, this was a new sound and hooked many of us, and eventually many moved on to heavier/more progressive music. Always loved Sevendust. Lajon is such a great frontman and singer.
Need to check out their newer material. Of all the “Nu Metal” bands, which I never classified them as anyway, they’ve had one of the most enduring careers. Do the song “Silly Beast” off Kill the Flaw. Came out just a few years ago.
Impending Doom - Murderer. They are Christian death metal band from California. On Wikipedia it says "Band who use extreme music as a means to explore their beliefs" I'm interested to see you two's thoughts about lyrics and stuff how precise are they. :-)
If I had to request a Sevendust song, I would say Skeleton Song live from their Double Wide Acoustic set. They're still really good, their newest album is their best in quite some time!
Vin's ma boy on this one! Definitely the song that pulled me into Sevendust, and probably tied with "Angel's Son" for favorite.
"Chop" of Sevendust's Kill the Flaw album is incredible and in my opinion one of their best songs ever. "Home" was the album that got me into these guys in highschool. Love me some Sevendust.
I wouldn't consider Sevendust as Underground though.
Dutch van der Linde incorrect 😂
Yep definitely one of their best! Live Again from Animosity is the song that introduced me to them and it's a good one! It's often overlooked but it has a good message; a necessary message. Please react to more Sevendust!!
Oh and thanks for this, never listened to this band usually it's us trying to give you new music to listen but I been bumping this all morning never heard of it before this
She says "Woah" to TOOL songs! Now do "Vicarious" by Tool!
Sevendust are a band I adored in high school and at 36yrs of age I still love them.

Trust and/or live again also :)
Angels Son is excellent.
Sevendust is pretty solid. The drummer catches my attention in this group. I dig the tracks Terminator, Face, Speak, Born to Die, and Crumpled..
*Crumbled
What about LJ
My best friend's big sister, who I had a huge crush on, gave me this CD for my birthday when I was 13. Really opened the gates of metal for me at the time.
Matthew Diehm Did you ever get to take her on a date?
The song "Black" is where it's at

As I Am - Dream Theater
You need to give DT a real chance!!
Nonpoint is also a heavier band that has an African American lead singer along with Straight Line Stitch.
I saw Nonpoint with Sevendust, Filter, Audioslave, Mushroomhead and a couple other bands. Nonpoint completely blew Sevendust out of the water based on energy and performance.
Great song guys that's also the song that got me into them as well
Their debut album was definitely their best in my opinion.
I won. ;D
One of my most favourite songs from these guys. Love it! lml lml
LJ is hands down one of the most soulful singers in metal. Sori seems to gravitate towards the slower emotional songs, so maybe listen to got a feeling or skeleton song by Sevendust. Love the channel. Black by Sevendust is my favorite song of thiers.
Thx.
God I wish I could relive the 90s. What an epic era in American musical history.
Is it just me or have your subs exploded this past week? I swear you only crossed 30k a short while ago and now you're heading past 40k! Awesome.
Craziness! Thank you !
It was the cradle video that brought more people just like when they did the first one lol
And When He Falleth from Theatre of Tragedy, pretty beautiful song and thoughtful lyrics.
Sevendust: Angel's Son
Lajon wrote this for James Lynn Straight (singer for the band Snot) after he was killed in a car crash.
Seven dust is Kool you need to see them live.
#ffdp the pride
New Atheist (former Muslim) viewer loving your videos but I am surprised you have not reacted to powerwolf yet.
It is power metal with Catholic and Satanic influence with some inclusion of vampires and werewolves it sounds super confusing but I think you would enjoy it.
I would recommend the song Sanctified with dynamite, hope you will take it into recommendation
Song sir!
yes I love them hope to see your reaction to them at some time :D
"Fire and Forgive" off their new disk could be a place to start.
Blessed & Possessed, We Drink Your Blood, Amen & Attack, Armata Strigoi.... They have a ton of songs that are operatically and metally AMAZING!!!
React to "Do the evolution" by Pearl Jam.
Great song, awesome video, with lots to comment on human behavior.

You should do Dirty by Sevendust. Came across it on RUclips. Absolutely love it.
Cattle Decapitation - Manufactured Extinct
This song has some meaningful lyrics that I think you guys could really get into.
My personal favorite Sevendust song is Black, would like your opinions on it.
Another great video and hope you get over the cold soon man
This is one of the songs that got me into metal.
Korn - Alone I Break Don't act like you don't want to Vin.
My favorite song from them!
How most lyrical breakdowns begin;
Vin: What do you think this was about?
Sori: I was really confused.
You guys are so cute. Love it.
take it how you will..he is a black dude..he has a soul sound to his voice set to metal=BADASS!!!
Main vocalist is indeed a talented black man, but one of the white guitarist often sings some of the very good parts too. The drummer will also sing, but he is mostly the screeches and screams. :) So they got a bit of that Beatles type things where there are many singers. Parkway Drive "crushed" attempt #26!!! I love Sevendust it takes me back to when I was a kid in my brothers truck
Sori was 'whoa!' for the Nightwish and the Vektor songs, too :)
And Dimmu Borgir just last week :D
I got hooked on your channel 2 days ago, I think, from the Cradle of Filth "Her Ghost In The Fog" reaction video. Another excellent review! I'm going to check out some more Sevendust. I'm finding all kinds of new music to listen to thanks to you guys.
I still recommend Judas by Fozzy :)
I'm listening to Wormwood, also by Fozzy, right now. It's a super long song (13:51 - too long for a reaction I think) but I think you'd find it interesting.
Not too long
I should mention about Wormwood... The lyrics are interesting. The song itself kind of drags on.
Hello there Vin and Sori...... dig what you guys are doing! as a christian metalhead... i get what you guys are doing
so i went through lil bit effort to slap together a more detailed common song and or band suggestion comment, so i really really hope you guys at least check out one song i recommended :) ha

YES A Good Chorus can make a Song especially Melodic but that's just me
I think in BITCH he does say after the line"outta my way...BITCH" but it's like a very quick and low growlish.

However, even scientists can be prone to confirmation bias.[2]
Confirmation biases contribute to overconfidence in personal beliefs and can maintain or strengthen beliefs in the face of contrary evidence. Poor decisions due to these biases have been found in political and organizational contexts.[3][4]
I love watching your guys your video's are awesome and i hope you get better soon vin
Y'all should check out Wrust- Hate 'Em All. They're a Botswanan metal band, and I thought you'd like to check out something from the motherland. Mortal Soul-Solace is also good, they're kenyan but I believe they're technically metalcore?
listen to "death" please it is the best death metal band ever i would recommend "crystal mountain", "symbolic" or "pull the plug"
And on a side note there is also this band called Mustasch wich is a great heavy metal band from sweden they have some bangers like "double nature", "hound from hell" or "bring me everyone" :)
NinjaChicken i Like to see their reaction of Death's empty Words. One of the best intros in metal.
That's sick aswell i would say basically any death song is okay, because i honestly love each one :D
NinjaChicken me too
This and Driven are freaking awesome. The Enemy and Last Breath too
Julio!!!! Long time no see!!
VinAnd Sori please react to Dimmu Borgir - Tormentor of Christian Souls ruclips.net/video/dBUm7WGdOqM/видео.html
I love logging in and seeing that you guys uploaded a new video! You're so cute together and you make one of the best music analyst pair on youtube. ♥
You should really check out Mushroomhead - We Are The Truth (Music Video). That one's recent and I think you guys will have a lot of fun picking that one apart. xD
Listed!
Thank you! Hope you have fun reacting to it. ♥
Kill The Flaw by Sevendust is good song.
No pity from me Vin, not Until Divine Heresy gets featured... Yes im holding pity ransom, which makes me... (wait for it)... petty.
Haha
Need to check out their newer material. Of all the “Nu Metal” bands, which I never classified them as anyway, they’ve had one of the most enduring careers. Do the song “Silly Beast” off Kill the Flaw. Came out just a few years ago.
Impending Doom - Murderer. They are Christian death metal band from California. On Wikipedia it says "Band who use extreme music as a means to explore their beliefs" I'm interested to see you two's thoughts about lyrics and stuff how precise are they. :-)
Next time you do Sevendust go with Trust!
Silencer - Death Pierce Me ... great videos btw!
Back in the days the next song on my tape was "if the devil wore adidas" from mindset
Beyond creation:”Fundamental process”
This song has more notes than entire Metallica discography ..
If I had to request a Sevendust song, I would say Skeleton Song live from their Double Wide Acoustic set. They're still really good, their newest album is their best in quite some time!
Deftones - Leathers
You two should do Testament's The Pale King some time look for the video on the tube. I would probably have a laugh watching your faces to that one...
