As a college student, I always hear this song in my head whenever I go home for the weekend. Being at home is kind of like the rest area for college students, you know you can’t be there forever, but it’s so peaceful and relaxing while you are there, and it gives you the strength to continue pressing on.
As a kid, I always wondered where the hell the rest area took place in terms of in the Melee universe. I just thought that it was a representation of the "real" world since it has a peaceful, realistic feel that contrasts with the wacky stages you see in the game, but even so, it was just speculation. This music really does make you stop and reflect on things, doesn't it?
Crescentium it looks like a generic park somewhere nice. a park as a rest area makes sense since people often go to parks to get some fresh air, see birds, stroll or play with their kids and just unwind and relax for a while
Same. Always wondered. And it’s funny when I go in parks rather on walks or cycling I always think of that place and I’m like damn.... it does feel like I’m resting here
Man i remember the days to when i would only fight one person in allstar mode and jus sit at the save point for hours. Even took naps while the tv was still on with this song playing.... i miss those days :(
Just in case somebody cares, it's an updated version of the original which was played in a "save hut" in Kirby Super Star where you could save and get a tomato. :D
AAAAAAAAAAnd that Kirby's Dreamland Float Islands level was heavily inspired by the early 20th century compositions of Claude Debus- Naw, I'm just pullin' you leg. This is my favorite version though.

Man, I used to love playing melee when I was like 8 years old with a childhood friend.. we felt so happy when I finally unlocked all the chars, and as soon as we saw that there was a new mode, we went to play it. When we listened to this song... gosh, it was magical, it was almost a reward for unlocking everything. My gamecube broke in the following year, and many years passed since I played melee again, but when I did, so many memories came back :,)
The memories... That day when I played as Yoshi in All-Star Mode on Very Hard, I waited for like 10 minutes before the last battle against Game&Watch just to listen to the music. That was amazing... sadly, I've never beat it. Maybe I should pick it up and give it another try.
I remember playing All Star mode as Princess Peach and when I finished a fight, I would float around the rest area and walk smoothly and Peach made it perfect. I still have this game btw :')
I seriously miss playin' this game, brawl was great and so was the original but still melee has my heart, it was always my favorite. I plan on buyin' it again..
I remember when i was younger, like kinder to first when this game came out, i'd try to unlock all the characters and see if i could get all of them and beat the entire game, but i somehow never managed to do it. Until now, when i was able to buy this game again almost 2 years ago and i managed to beat the entire game and unlock all the stages and characters, and this rest area was the one i tried to unlock so many times when i was younger. Now that i have finally unlocked it, it brings back nice memories of my childhood and how i knew that the younger me would have been so proud to finally have gotten this and listen to the nice music of melee.
So let me get this straight... this song is a remix of the save point music in the Kirby series, which in itself is a slowed-down remix of the Float Islands stage theme in Kirby games... YO DAWG
The new smash bros is my favorite of the four... But melee is special to me. Its music and mystery to it. Is incredible. Its an unpredictable game that keeps surprising you. Even if you think you've done everything... Melee has THIS song... And I wish it was used again...
brandon bailey Yeah I liked Melee. it was the first game I played in the Series and I was like 6 when I played this game. I would be in the game, fighting as Ness and I told my Self "I wanna be just like Ness one day". My brother was still with me at the time and this song is just so unique to me
I wish the rest area in Melee existed in real life. I'd live there. But I guarantee this song will play when I get to the pearly gates and Saint Peter says I can enter heaven.
I will forever remember the moment that I was in class, listening to this, we were on zoom, I forgot to turn my mic off, and they heard me listening to this song
This makes Me Cry For Hours, And Thought "Welcome To Heaven. This Is Where love is Used The Most. Well, You Can Live Here Forever, And Never Leave, And Rest. I'm Here All Time, All Space, So, You Will Be Never Forgotten." I Felt like I Was in Heaven, Resting in Gods Hand. God Bless You. *Cries*

This sounds like a mixture of Legend of Zelda and Kirby. I know this is a remix of a Kirby song, but the harp or whatever that is, and the piano sounds like something you would hear in Zelda. The harp part in this song reminds me of that one calm part in the Hyrule Fields theme
