Tommy my brother....Masterbuilt definitely brought their "A" game to the table 💯. Ciao 🍻
I think so!!
I appreciate your vids, I recently pulled the trigger on a XT. Ive wanted a offset for a long time, but, I simply dont have the time to add wood every 15-30 min. This option seems to be the closest I can get while maintaining convenience. I definitely plan on running all wood fires to get the offset/close to offset quality smoke. Happy smoking bro!
watch this Saturdays video on the XT.. tips and tricks and warnings.
Great review Tommy. That’s an amazing grill very upgraded from the other ones. Can’t wait for your first cookout. Have a awesome weekend Tommy.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for your content! New to the Masterbuilt community. Assembled my first grill Friday, the 600 and on the last leg of the seasoning while watching this video. Watched your older video on the seasoning, and looks like I got it right! Once again, thanks for the videos.
If you ever have any questions gallerybbq@gmail.com im a 24/7 creator so feel free to email me 24/7...
Awesome review Tommy, and definitely a great guest line up! Masterbuilt really put together and nice machine, can’t wait till the cooking begins ! Have a great weekend, cheers brother 🍻
Heck yeah. Cheers
Thanks for the advice on assembly and helping debug my temp readings on FB! You rock.
Cheers brother!
Very informative Tommy, can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy!
I'd have to say, good choice!
Tnx Tommy. That was great to watch. Yes looks like they have definitely improved the strength in the hopper. Hopefully it will not blow after a couple dozen cooks ? Can’t wait for the cook now. Have a great weekend Bud 👍
BBQMANAZ.... All cooks will be coming soon as ive got some good stuff lined up.
Great video as always thanks!
Thanks for watching!
That's some good info, thanks for sharing. 😎👍🍻
cheers
Boom!! 💥
In defense of the Tahoma 900. They didn't say the fire will snuff out. Lol but it's a shame doesn't. MB. Makes an amazing pit. Awesome job.
Good point Scotty, That said, that was always one of the biggest questions with the 560, 800, 900, and 1050. For me, it's something that they should of gotten right!!
Well Scotty is at it again throwing a "CURVE BALL" at Tommy LOL 😂🤣😜
@@CookingwithStephennJacklyn Thats my man Scotty🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@thegalleryBBQ for sure.
@@CookingwithStephennJacklyn gets the comment section going lol
Informative episode. Thanks.
I pretty much nailed the guess on how much charcoal to use on my first rib cook with the Tahoma 900. I didn't walk away from the experience feeling that I was going to waste a lot of fuel going forward. Yes, it's not as easy as shutting it off and walking away like the Masterbuilt. However, it's not $800 easier.
JT
JT i definitely hear you loud and clear. The tahoma is an amazing pit. Especially for the money!
! will be tuning in Sunday ... should be good
Its going to be killer!
Great video! Looks like a big time hit with this XT.
Im leaning that way!!
Great video, that controller is almost identical to my Spider Grills attachment for the Weber kettle. Very nice.
Mike, and the connected joe grill... Masterbuilt spared no expense on this bad boy... That said, at 1499 you'd hope that was the case!
This pit is badass
Yes sir....
Great video! You convinced me now when is it in stock lol
lol.... keep me posted!
Tommy, you are the man, my brother 🙏🏾 thank you for the info. They are sold out EVERYWHERE. I will definitely have one as soon as they are back in stock FOR SURE.
No doubt! Well worth it. Check out todays video. Some good info in there.
Hey Tommy, thanks for these videos. I have a few more to watch and I got my finger on the trigger. So one question I had that you mentioned did you ever figure out what the lowest temperature setting you could run this at? I was wondering because I’d like to smoke a lot of salmon thanks man keep up the good work!
My man. Anytime. Ive had this pit steady at 160f.... Any questions. gallerybbq@gmail.com
Nice job, Tommy👍😊
Thanks-
Another great video. This has put to rest my biggest concern of the XT. Like you said, the Tacoma 900 continuous fuel burn is a terrible oversight. I'm glad Masterbuilt was able to improve what Oklahoma Joe did. I have no hesitation about buying this grill now.
ZERO.... this pit appears to be what everyone wanted from the 1050.... Except the price! lol
@@thegalleryBBQ Masterbuilt just replaced the 560 with the new 600. Maybe they will replace 800 and 1050 as well.
Dammit Tommy! You're making me want one!😂
Its pretty cool.
GOOD LOOKIN PIT TOMMY
Its bad azz.....
Thx for the great info! I'm seasoning now and temps are wildly off! If I set to 150 I get 300f. Any ideas how to get the temp dialed in?
Use an outside source. It'll settle after a few cooks. If you have no outside source temp gauges. Here's 25% off. Grab that chefstemp. Check out X10 ChefsTemp here and grab 25% off

Here is a question. Not sure if you touched on this but can you set up a cook? ie: run the unit at 225* for 4 hrs and then have it automatically set the temp to 275 for 1hr ?
I don't think so.... That said. I'm not 100% sure.
For snuffing the fire of the Tahoma, would a simple magnetic door/cap over the fan port do the trick? Or is the main damper also pretty drafty? Thanks in advance.
The char griller uses that fan cover.. Im sure that would help. That said. I just wish OKJ had that figured out as i feel its very important. I mean. Its like buying a car and only putting the amount of gas your gonna need.
It has multiple air leaks. That said. The tahoma is priced right and is an awesome pit!
I wonder the release date and price for Australia?
I just brought the 1050 for $1599 AUD so this XT will probably be $3000 AUD?!
good question.
Hey Tommy - appreciate your videos, man! Quick, slightly unrelated question. I'm looking at getting a masterbuilt, and between the few stores that carry them near me, the MB800 and MB1050 are basically the same cost. Other than the griddle that comes stock with the 800, is there any reason to not get the 1050?
Personally I'd grab that 1050 over the 800. The griddle is nice but that 1050 is killer!!
@thegalleryBBQ thanks for the response, dude! Keep up those awesome cooks!
@@PGE613 you keep watching n I’ll keep banging em out
Can you share your heat graph? Doing my initial burn off and the grill surged right past 250 to 305 and won’t come down.
I talk about that in my review video- ruclips.net/video/t8Vb7LIXAP8/видео.html
@@thegalleryBBQ thanks, I learned a lot from the burn off (temp did drop back down) and then did an initial cook with an inexpensive pork butt that came out great. No complaints about the unit, held steady for hours. One small complaint about the app is that it seems to have the same doneness settings regardless of type of meat and cut. I think they could fix this with an update because it makes no sense to have a setting for rare pork or chicken or cuts that would never be good to "undercook" like brisket.
Hi Tommy, the control panel is very close the hot part of the burn chamber, does the panel get hot?
Hi Peter, it does not!!
Thanks for your reply mate. 👍
May 12 wow calendar marked.
Thats big.... As far as BBQ goes aint no one bigger!
Got rid of mine. Controller decided to up it's temperature to error code and caused grease fire. Ruined Easter brisket.
The XT???
Anyone know when the MBXT will be available to the masses?!?
soon.... hopefully real soon.
I got an email from masterbuilt not long after I posted this telling me they had some in stock. Snipping out in 5 -7 business days... counting down!
@@jeanberkmeyer8457 AWESOME!!!
So, how much does that controller unit cost when it fails? Because my 560 failed, and the temperature probe inside the grill has never worked correctly. It's always 20° off, and there's no way to calibrate it. So, how well-made is this one? Mine's been under a cover since I got it, and it's still rotting away.
No, the Masterbuilt products aren't made very well.
I don't live my life waiting and expecting things to fail, and i'd suggest you don't also!! It's not a good look on anyone! Cheers
That controller is used on other products like the konnected joe and the spider grills venom. It is super durable and built to last.
@@eclipxe It's a different beast for sure-. Also, i do believe we have a 3 year warranty although i'm not sure if that includes the !
Yeah but is it worth the $1500 price tag over the older 1050 version?
I'd need a few cooks to make that determination! Stay tuned.
Can this controller be modified
To work with the 1050 ?
@@MrBlackkingofhearts Good question... Unfortunately I do not have that answer.
