The CarChannel it actually is in mobile now or for me on the iPhone 7 it is.. when they say it the little thing slides out in top of screen then goes away if you don't click it
I think the 4.0 is a great motor ... In the explorer or ranger. It's torque band is at low rpms which is what you need in a truck motor not so much in a mustang.
step one. Check my channel out and subscribe step two. just go to a shop that does turbos lol or buy a procharger off american muscle and install it yourself or let a shop do it
I'd prefer it over the V-8, I think because I prefer a tight handling car. The lighter nose and more responsive, predictable steering would be GREAT. On top of that you'll likely get better steady state cruise efficiency if you tune it right. Further, a couple slightly larger turbos and you're really off the the races approaching 600 HP. What's not to love?
I bought a 17' v6 Mustang 2 weeks ago in the same color. It's the first new car I've ever owned but not the first mustang. It is amazing so far.. It will walk a 4.6 gt like it's standing still. It really sucks the v6 is being discontinued. But it's a lot of fun, its very comfortable, plus it's practical and women love it.
I have a V6 S550 and am interested in turbo charging it when the warranty is out. I would love to get some more info on this build. Thanks for the awesome review and great job, Cody!
i no you wrote this 4 years ago I'm wondering if you were able to install the twin turbos in v6. i have a 15 v6 and I've been wanting to that ever since i bought her on my 58th birthday in 2015. i was looking for a candy apple red convertible v8 and the salesman told me it would take 2 months before they could get it for me. i had my younger daughter with me that day and i was kinda sad about having to wait 2 months. my daughter noticed a black convertible in the center of the showroom and said to me daddy if you bought that black one you'd be batman. so we took test drive. I've had 2 other mustangs, a 67 with v8 289 and a 69 a boss 429. that was in 81but the wife made me sale it when same daughter was being born, because there's no damn room in the back for 3 kids. so long story short here, the test drive was great, i couldnt believe how good it ran, it was every bit as fast as my 69 at the start but it wouldn't go over 125 it must have a governor on her. it would go into 6th gear at 120 and the rpms were at 3500 so i no she has a lot more speed in her. i have a bama tuner and I've been trying to get it to by pass the governor but I can't figure it out. i had left her stock for exactly 5 years so i did some changes, wheels, tinted windows, axle backs exhaust, lowering springs, cold air intake and then my girlfriend bought me the tuner for my 63rd birthday, so I'm all set except i have no idea how to work the damn thing. i never used a computer in my whole life and i can't seem to find anyone that will take the time and do the things I need to get it to by pass the govenor also the gas mileage has changed 32 and 20 to 17 and 10 mpg. so I've been racking my brain to get this straightend out. i can't keep going like this are I'm gonna go broke buying gas for her. this is something thats why beyond my knowledge of motors because when i worked on cars there wasnt computers are catalytic converters, but i would like to find someone in my town that knows what i need to fix these issues. i have a guy who owns caliber customs but he's backed up 6 months before he can dig into my issues. I also want to have turbos installed. if anyone in the central valley of California reads this please give me a call if you have knowledge of what my issues are, i could really use the help. 5593305131.
The four banger turbo is a way better engine And why buy the v6 when you could get the ecoboost which is better for about the same If you want NA just buy a GT
Daniel Raynor I have a GT lol still plan on boosting it one day. But they changed the V6's from 2011-2014 and 2015+. The older ones were a lot better. They kinda just stopped trying once they brought out the ecoboost.
The 2.3 ecoboost is just garbage. I have a 2015 and the bottom end let go at 44000kms. Then at 47000kms the new engine needed a rear main seal. The car is 100% stock and I'm 39 so not bagging it like most people do. At 59000 the high pressure fuel pump went. Very unreliable if you ask melfort.
How are they garbage? Yes they are small but that's how you get the ridiculous amount of low end torque. They are made small for that particular reason. Over 400 torq at 1500 rpm.
I dig this car so much right now. Despite owning a more powerful car now, I always loved how good this engine was, and I always wanted to boost it. Very underrated
That looks like a really well done setup. if this swap becomes a popular options for V6 Mustang owners, it could drive Ecoboost engine prices even higher.
Josh Mori I say they might not phase out theit Coyote mainly for theit performance side like the GT 350/350R. There are still a lot of "purists" that prefer v8's
A friend of mine has one set up exactly like this one, 3.7 in-line 6 single turbo 650 hp at the wheels it is a supercar killer definitely a V-8 killer cobra ,5.0 GT coyote ,engine even C8 Corvettes they only see his back lights 😂from a distance
David...I have to give you props! You are so good and natural as a vlogger. As much as I appreciate and love your content topics, I love your artistry with film even more. You are quite an inspiration to a young ("young" in terms of experience and not age) vlogger. Thanks to you for your channel and it's inspiration to me!
r.i.p to the 3.7 I loved that engine p.s: thank you david for the quality content that i relly enjoy unlike other car channels who don't even make car videos anymore, they effin only vlog
Amazing!! This is definitely unprecedented for V6 Mustangs. But this is auto, I still prefer manual. Kinda a bummer that it's basically as fast as my 2014 stock GT. But still an awesome car and excellent review as always. Keep up the good work David.
David. I just want you to know how much i appreciate your video's. I just heard my mom had a stroke... and this video made me somewhat happy again. I even laughed a bit. Thanks for brightening up my day.
It is amazing the world of difference between the S197 and the S550. I had a 2011 5.0 sold it a couple years ago and just got a 2017 5.0. The S550 makes the last generation seem older than it really is, major improvement.
Here to argue again. The 4.0 engine is great for what it is. It’s so reliable you get 300k mikes out of it. Now tune it, take the limiters off. And supercharge it or twin turbos and get it 350 horses in a v6 with the 05-09 body style. Killer for what it is. For the time era. You just have to know what you’re dealing with.
The v6 will be back when the v8 hits 500hp stock around 2025. It will be the new ecoboost v6 and it will make 400 ish hp. The 4 cylinder is just temporary until the v8 gets faster. They can’t add the v6 ecoboost yet because it will be too close to the v8.
Jack's Sixer boost is getting better and better every year though, by 2025 a 3.7 V6 could reliably make 600 most likely. You'll never get a ttv6 stang cause that would be faster than the GT, and Ford loves the GT5.0 too much for that to happen
It's a shame they are putting the kibosh on the V6 starting with the 2018 model year. These 3.7's are truly fantastic engines, whether stock or modded.
David I have been a fan of your videos for a long time. With the combination of you and some other youtubers is the reason i wanted to start a channel. You're video are definitely my cinematography goals.
It's pathetic how many people bitch about others modifying their V6's. Most cars don't even have a V6 option let alone a V8. A "muscle car" no longer needs 8+ cylinders to make respectable power
I plan on doing this to my 2012. I am going to do a few things more that will really wake her up too. Paying money off to have all the things I need. I am glad you got to review someone that has done this. The car right now is a mid sleeper. He should do more and then let you drive it again and see what he did. Oh and MPT tunes are soooooooo good
Honestly i dont see why people hate on mustangs or any muscle bc at the end of the day cars are cars they get us to point A to point B and makes us who we are
That's why Ford didn't use the 3.5 Ecoboost in place of the V8 - Mustang + V8 is a tried and true recipe that shouldn't be messed with in the GT models at least. The 4 cyl EB model offers an entry level option to broaden the buyer pool. Then there's the more focused Shelby models too.
+pauljh74 Definitely. I agree it's a tactical move by Ford for sales. I don't hate it, it's just not the one I'd own, but I'd love to drive this and experience it. I love the sound and heritage of a V8 mustang mainly.
Immediately added to my favorites playlist. Always wanted to get me an S550 V8 and do the Hellion Twin-Turbo V8 set up with the automatic. But this S550 V6 OEM Twin-Turbo kit makes it look reality for future ideas and higher standards.
There are quite a few twin turbo kits out there for the 3.7. Since this engine has been around a long, long time. The old 4.0 V6 was a Mazda motor that was in the Ranger and Explorer. Hellion, JMP, and a few others. I know a guy who hat had twin 58's bolted on to his 2013 V6, 11 psi, made 435 rwhp, yes rwhp.... just under 480 crank. Evidently the 3.7 is safe to about 520 crank hp. This guys only 72 yrs young. He finally had his motor built and now has 62 twins, pumping 12 psi and looking at 550 rwhp/622 crank. And the car runs 11.4's at 130 mph. Easily beats the old GT500's... so this is not a one off kit. Maybe for this company, but dear not new and one of a kind.
David Barba agreed. I'd let him drive mine if he were in Ohio. one of the baddest cars on the planet and can gain so much horsepower from a CAI and a tune. is yours modded?
Ford America and Ford Australia should've got together and replaced that V6 with the Barra Straight 6 Turbo out of the FPV F6 we have here in Australia, you guys in the states would be blow away with how much power they make with about 3 grand and get an idea how these things could be the new 2J/RB motors. If you don't know what they can do I highly recommend Searching FPV F6 Blue top Barra!
Sounds like a blast and probably really fun to drive Wow lets hear it for the OEM turbos installed on the V-6! Would LOVE to have that set up on my V-6 auto.
Most people like hoping on that bandwagon unfortunately. The 4.0 Mustangs are good cars. They aren't extremely powerful nor are speed demons by any stretch of the imagination. But. Why this generation? Nobody. And I mean nobody gives 95' V6 Mustangs hell; and they have 145 horsepower with a 9.8 Second 0-60. My V6 had 210 horsepower with a 6.8 Second 0-60. I just don't understand it. Do you have an answer? I can't find one.
bikeandboard100 What is good about it? It doesn't offer exceptional reliability, efficiency or performance. It's an engine that feels agricultural. There's nothing rewarding about redlining that slow revving turd as it belongs in a Ranger, not a Mustang. Do you know why bandwagons exist? Because they're a universal opinion of something. Every V6 Mustang made before 2011 was a joke and the 4.0L is no exception. As with every bandwagon, there are a few snowflakes who "like" what everyone else has agreed to be shit. It's like the Hyundai Genesis Coupe, once you spend 25-40k on something mediocre, you have no choice but to pretend it's good otherwise you have to admit to being a dumbass who fell for the marketing gimmick. Same story with the V6 Mustangs(except 2011+, those V6s are actually good), you could have bought something decent but instead you bought a Mustang with an agricultural tractor engine, so now you need to pretend it's good.
Something Fail yeah it's not fuel efficient but it been damn reliable and hasent givin me a problem with it for the two years I've been driving one, but when You compare the motor with other v6's for mini trucks of it's time, it made more power than all of them, ex Chevys 4.3 at the time only made 195 hp. The Chevy 350 before vortec only made 205 and everybody loves that motor. I think the 4.0 is a great motor and I'm sure lots of people agree, better than the 3.8. If you want to go fast then Obviously get the 5.0.
The 4.0 Cologne motor wasn't the greatest when it came to performance or fuel efficiency, but top notch in reliability. Not many people know this, but the 4.0 was built by Ford Germany specifically for the Ranger, Explorer and Mustang. Ford has done worse honestly. The 3.0 Vulcan V6 is also a good reliable motor, but it makes weak 4 cylinder power (152HP) with poor 6 cylinder fuel economy.
I need to convince my dad to tune our Flex lol, that motor is freakin crazy for what it actually is...Also so freakin stoked to see the rhdkev teg review!!!
That Car Guy I mean its great that they're pushing awesome numbers in the quarter, i love 4 bangers myself, so much fun and love to rev. drove an integra the other day and so much fun. just out of personal experience with the ecotec 4 cylinders i found them to be bad engines, but I'm just one guy.
I have an Ecoboost Lincoln MKT. Its definitely a sleeper. The turbo V6 is awesome paired with the 4WD. I have surprised a few V8 mustangs and a Subaru Impreza Sti. No mods yet....
great video! i own a 3.5 F150 eco and absolutely love it, I also own a 15 V6 mustang and am planning to do the Twin turbo in it. i want mine to be as factory looking as possible. which is what i loved about this car. super six does a dual air cleaner set up. but i'm going to try and do a single with as many F150 parts as possible. thanks for posting this!
It's called the LS7. They made it a decade ago. www.motortrend.com/news/dyno-battle-gt350-gt350r-and-camaro-z28/ Might not have the "flat-plane" or sky high redline, but it puts out almost identical HP (and more torque). Only took Ford a decade to catch up.
JAX nah. there's no argument here. the 5.2 is simply a better motor than any LS. if you take bias out of everyone's opinions then you end up with a low tech ancient v8 or an exotic never been done before v8
JAX thanks for helping prove my points. no one swaps a voodoo because it's a complicated and brand new engine, unlike the (as I mentioned) ancient technology LS. and placing a Ford v8 in the same category as supercars is a compliment. name one that's 5.2 litres though. also name one in a car under 100k.
Matthew Bailey The 4.0 is not junk. They are cheap and very reliable. They don't make much hp but they make good torque so they work better in trucks and SUVs. Saying they are junk is idiotic.
In a few years this is going to be a VERY common mod I believe. All of the V6 Mustang rental cars will be on the used market for cheap and you'll be able to put the 2 turbos on them for much less than the cost of the GT. Plus your insurance will be lower with the V6. Best bang for your buck going forward.
Thanks for watching this guys!
What a cool "ecoboost" idea! What do you think?
ThatDudeinBlue I'm a big V8 guy but this v6 is pretty dope
ThatDudeinBlue forgot "of" in the title
ThatDudeinBlue if v8s were fazed out I would probably pick a ecoboost. But again I could go buy mk4 for roughly the same price
Awesome!
You forgot all the links man! lol
wow it actually sounds exactly like a gtr. strange
Do It With Dan no just no
Do It With Dan a gtr sounds like a mustang. Their v6 has sounded nearly the same for over 10 years.
Do It With Dan Similar Displacement. lol
Do It With Dan kinda yeah...
Do It With Dan they're both twin turbo V6s dickhead
Luv ur vids btw ;)
Bring it to a dealer for service and see how they react
TheUberdude14 I second that motion
TheUberdude14 easy solution. Don't be a sally and just do it yourself.
Yeah, but your forgetting their ford guys, so.....
Grombo well for one I don't own a mustang, nor would I v6 twin turbo swap it
TheUberdude14 ?
This will become a common swap for Mustangs of every generation in time. The ecoboost V6 will find its way into many Fords classic and more modern.
No ? It sound like shit and it's not that fast .
Gamingnation name 1 v6 or 4cyl that doesn't sound like shit
+LowCammed2V - giulia quadrifoglio
Jaguar F-Type v6

I wish I had a dollar for every time a youtuber pointed to the corner of the screen and said, "at this link" and then doesn't put in a link.
Scott Moore they do but it's not available on mobile
The CarChannel it actually is in mobile now or for me on the iPhone 7 it is.. when they say it the little thing slides out in top of screen then goes away if you don't click it
it does show the link tho its just a small link up top.
I think I speak for all 4.0 owners when I say 'we agree' lol
Danny Diez yeah no bueno
I recall one or more vendors supplying roots style superchargers for the Ford 4.0 V6 - a shame Ford didn't build that one either.
Amen haha
I think the 4.0 is a great motor ... In the explorer or ranger. It's torque band is at low rpms which is what you need in a truck motor not so much in a mustang.
Rusty Shacklfort yep it's meant to be a truck engine not not a sports car engine or muscle car/pony car engine.
Time to turbocharge my v6
Pavlo95 I agree me too
Pavlo95 get a ecoboost
Pavlo95 me too lol
Pavlo95 me too!!! how do I even start the process? help!
step one. Check my channel out and subscribe
step two. just go to a shop that does turbos lol
or buy a procharger off american muscle and install it yourself or let a shop do it

The 4.0 liter is amazing! One of the most reliable engines Ford made. Maybe for the Mustang it wasn't a good fit but, the 4.0 was a damn good motor.
Good motor as in lasting long but for performance oriented cars and builds it sucks ass compared to the later 3.7
I bought a 17' v6 Mustang 2 weeks ago in the same color. It's the first new car I've ever owned but not the first mustang. It is amazing so far.. It will walk a 4.6 gt like it's standing still. Same here I really want to turbo mine
Too bad they're not gonna have V6s with the 2018 Mustang. I personally like the Cyclone engine so much better than the 4 cylinder ecoboost.
The four banger turbo is a way better engine
And why buy the v6 when you could get the ecoboost which is better for about the same
If you want NA just buy a GT
Daniel Raynor I have a GT lol still plan on boosting it one day. But they changed the V6's from 2011-2014 and 2015+. The older ones were a lot better. They kinda just stopped trying once they brought out the ecoboost.
Osvaldo Martinez
They should throw in the 3.5 L twin turbo from the trucks
The 2.3 ecoboost is just garbage. I have a 2015 and the bottom end let go at 44000kms. Then at 47000kms the new engine needed a rear main seal. The car is 100% stock and I'm 39 so not bagging it like most people do. At 59000 the high pressure fuel pump went. Very unreliable if you ask melfort.
adam davidson you must be beating the crap outta yours cuz my 2015 eco just hit 200,000km no problems
I believe it's pronounced "ecobeast"
Juan Irving #EcobeastMode
Juan Irving Ecobust
ecoburst.... the turbos are garbage
Godzilla awaits his lunch his 3.8 VR 600 hp snarls and that 3.7 trembles
How are they garbage? Yes they are small but that's how you get the ridiculous amount of low end torque. They are made small for that particular reason. Over 400 torq at 1500 rpm.
I dig this car so much right now. Despite owning a more powerful car now, I always loved how good this engine was, and I always wanted to boost it. Very underrated
That looks like a really well done setup. if this swap becomes a popular options for V6 Mustang owners, it could drive Ecoboost engine prices even higher.
Just bought one 3 days ago and it’s crazy as hell man. It puts out so much for a v6
Unfortunately, Ford are getting rid of the V6 this year. Now all that's left is gonna be ecoboost 4, and V8
Steven soon they will get rid of the v8 in all cars and trucks lol
Dodge 318 Cummins that can't happened
Dodge 318 Cummins They could eventually get rid of the GT if it doesnt sell well. But not v8 in general
Ford's getting rid of the V8,even the expeditions will now have the ECOBOOST,even the 2017's already have them
Josh Mori I say they might not phase out theit Coyote mainly for theit performance side like the GT 350/350R. There are still a
lot of "purists" that prefer v8's
When I first clicked the video I was very disappointed by the automatic V6 but man that thing hauls ass. Sounds great, too! Almost like a GT-R.
It did have a semi GTR-esque tone to it. Very Cool Kit, Great Review David
That was awesome, wish ford wasn't getting rid of the v6.
James Cox I know that sucks/:
A friend of mine has one set up exactly like this one, 3.7 in-line 6 single turbo 650 hp at the wheels it is a supercar killer definitely a V-8 killer cobra ,5.0 GT coyote ,engine even C8 Corvettes they only see his back lights 😂from a distance
Ford should really build a v6 turbocharge engine my first though isn't the Ford GT a v6 turbo engine ?
v6 ecoboost is in a lot of fords
David...I have to give you props! You are so good and natural as a vlogger. As much as I appreciate and love your content topics, I love your artistry with film even more. You are quite an inspiration to a young ("young" in terms of experience and not age) vlogger. Thanks to you for your channel and it's inspiration to me!
I remember dreaming of something like this when I had my '98 V6 mustang!
"It goes, CHEEWW" - David Patterson 2017
Hehe nice one dbp
Shame you guys don't get the Ford 4.0 straight 6 we have in Australia 😋
+Boosted & Built Garage I am so jealous of that engine over there haha
Right wtf
Boosted & Built Garage can it be imported or is that illegal?
Manny Hysten Good question!? Would be cool if you could
Pretty sure it's not illegal, as people get B-series engines in the US for Civics all the time.
r.i.p to the 3.7 I loved that engine
p.s: thank you david for the quality content that i relly enjoy unlike other car channels who don't even make car videos anymore, they effin only vlog
Amazing!! This is definitely unprecedented for V6 Mustangs. But this is auto, I still prefer manual. Kinda a bummer that it's basically as fast as my 2014 stock GT. But still an awesome car and excellent review as always. Keep up the good work David.
Idk why, i usually dont like Mustangs that much, but that Mustang in the Thimbnail looked absolutely gorgeous.
1:48 foot pounds of TWERK
foot pounds to work
These 3.7's are very underrated, it's a shame they're being discontinued for 2018... It's actually pretty fun in an F-150!
When you wake up to new video🙌🙌😌
David. I just want you to know how much i appreciate your video's. I just heard my mom had a stroke... and this video made me somewhat happy again. I even laughed a bit. Thanks for brightening up my day.
Niek Schouwenburg I'm glad I can help in ANY way man. We all have your back!
Twin turbo v6s are the things these days so why not?
It is amazing the world of difference between the S197 and the S550. I had a 2011 5.0 sold it a couple years ago and just got a 2017 5.0. The S550 makes the last generation seem older than it really is, major improvement.
probably still runs 12s
Do It With Dan duh 410 hp, maybe a little faster than a coyote but yea 12s or super high 11s since it's lighter
Until he turns the boost up
man your so right these should come from the factory like this
Here to argue again.
I've had a GT, v6, and ecoboost. This is what I've always wanted and have been looking for! Wish I would have figured this one out when I had my 3.7!
Did you go from a GT to ecoboost? 🤔
Jack where’s the source of your statement ?
Rubber Duggy there is no source it’s just a conspiracy theory that sounds realistic
Lol ....
Jack's Sixer boost is getting better and better every year though, by 2025 a 3.7 V6 could reliably make 600 most likely. You'll never get a ttv6 stang cause that would be faster than the GT, and Ford loves the GT5.0 too much for that to happen
realistically I see them doing away with the v8's and just doing 4 bangers, v6's and a v6 turbo for the gt model.
Full Race suggested they would build a mustang like this, cool to see one in action!
make an update on s13 drift car
RedLiner spark plays were covered in oil, valve cover cracked. Will be a video soon if it though!
Waiting for it! 😃
WOW!!!! I should try that to my '13 V6. Thanks for the review David.
The 4.0 is a good, reliable engine. Not a performance motor, but not a bad one.
this is true I see alot of v6 for sale with 230k 200k miles all day.
Wow, one of a kind! The turbo whoooshh sound is superb!!
It's pathetic how many people bitch about others modifying their V6's. Most cars don't even have a V6 option let alone a V8. A "muscle car" no longer needs 8+ cylinders to make respectable power
A single turbo 66/67 3.7 can make 600whp/600wtq on e85, at least on auto mafia racings kit 👍 no swaps needed
The 3.8 was even a more reliable motor than the 4.0 and didn't take much to be faster and was a mini van motor xD
you got balls for driving this my dude .
Nothing beats the sound of a big V8
Kudos Supersix! I'm in the GM V6 community but have always been impressed by SSM's products for years.
pure muscle
I plan on doing this to my 2012. I am going to do a few things more that will really wake her up too. Paying money off to have all the things I need. I am glad you got to review someone that has done this. The car right now is a mid sleeper. He should do more and then let you drive it again and see what he did. Oh and MPT tunes are soooooooo good
I would love to do this to my v6 how much would this cost and what would I need ?🤔
Honestly i dont see why people hate on mustangs or any muscle bc at the end of the day cars are cars they get us to point A to point B and makes us who we are
David you should review my 1998 mustang v6 with eBay turbos when it's done check it out on my page!!
Boosted Buckets no thanks
Pedro C 😭
Pedro C the definition of penis
jay7264 lmao
Boosted Buckets you should probably check out my Stang too
yes, i'm so ready, haven't seen one of your reviews in forever
No thank you. I respect the work into it, but I'm a 5.0 guy.
Jacob R. Doty congrats thanks for letting us know
No problem.
I would love for you to review my S13 once we finish it for SEMA.
You should drive my 2014 shelby Gt500
David Barba agreed. I'd let him drive mine if he were in Ohio. one of the baddest cars on the planet and can gain so much horsepower from a CAI and a tune. is yours modded?
Matt I live in Ohio... Can I drive your GT500? I'll let you drive my RX-8! lol
I live in Maryland, but I'll drive to Ohio if you're gonna let me drive your GT500!
I love this!!! OEM feel/reliability and piece of mind with gobs of torque and drive-ability!!!!
There's no replacement for displacement.
Tai Lopez yes, thurbos
it's a unique build and that's what makes it awesome
where is RHDkevs integra
Ford America and Ford Australia should've got together and replaced that V6 with the Barra Straight 6 Turbo out of the FPV F6 we have here in Australia, you guys in the states would be blow away with how much power they make with about 3 grand and get an idea how these things could be the new 2J/RB motors.
If you don't know what they can do I highly recommend Searching FPV F6 Blue top Barra!
Suh dude
I'm actually really hyped that you have such high praise for the SHO. Becuase I've been contemplating about getting one as my next car.
It sounds like a GTR
Sounds like a blast and probably really fun to drive Wow lets hear it for the OEM turbos installed on the V-6! Would LOVE to have that set up on my V-6 auto.
I love this.... this is sleeper as fuckkk
Hell no. Still a mustang, so not a sleeper.
Lol sleeper. Muscle car is shouting I can go fast how is that a sleeper. A Prius will be a good sleeper car
Jacques N you can't ever call a mustang a sleeper
No matter how slow it may be stock, it is designed to be sporty. A sleeper looks *unassuming*.
It's a V6 mustang of course it's not expected to be fast.
Wow such a unicorn! Defiantly one of my new favorite reviews, great work David!
"The 4.0 is just not a good motor"... he has no reason or evidence behind the statement, probably never owned one.
I saw this guy at a meet last night back in Arkansas, this thing is awesome
Thatdudeinblue whats the song you use in the intro
I need to convince my dad to tune our Flex lol, that motor is freakin crazy for what it actually is...Also so freakin stoked to see the rhdkev teg review!!!
YESSSSSS, awesome video to wake up to.
Also, inb4 crowd jokes.

if ford would build a rwd car with the ecoboost 4 cyl that wasn't a mustang they would sell so many cars
the ford fusion sport awd, is ecoboost and its a fail
1AndyOnly Ford Fusion is such a normal car to see driving around though pretty boring and he said rwd and 4cyl
I think OP is confused, the mustang is rwd and already 4cyl why would ford need another rwd car
+1AndyOnly he maybe doesn't want a mustang? But still something that is rwd
Are you saying you want a car that is lighter like the brz or frs but you want this 310 hp 4 cylinder
This is a Idea I had too, it was cool to see someone did a twin turbo V6, and It's sad ford killed off the V6 engine.
Ecotec is better then Ecoboost :P
That Car Guy i really hope you mean the v6
Nope 4 banger Ecotecs are running 6.2s in the 1/4
That Car Guy horrible engines though, the ones we get in australia at least, always have leaks and problems
WeLoveBurnouts Thats your opinion. Personally if im talking about 4 bangers, Im a Honda guy, but facts are facts.
No mods yet....
really nice car.
I honestly have been planning to get an '11-'14 3.7 and do this to it as a daily. Seems freakin solid. This makes me anxious to get one already.

great video! i own a 3.5 F150 eco and absolutely love it, I also own a 15 V6 mustang and am planning to do the Twin turbo in it. i want mine to be as factory looking as possible. which is what i loved about this car. super six does a dual air cleaner set up. but i'm going to try and do a single with as many F150 parts as possible. thanks for posting this!
Ah, Ford...
"We can't do V8s as well as GM, so let's focus on boosted V6s..."
Not that there's anything wrong with that...
JAX where's GMs 5.2 flat plane crank V8 with an 8500 rpm redline?
It's called the LS7. They made it a decade ago. www.motortrend.com/news/dyno-battle-gt350-gt350r-and-camaro-z28/
Might not have the "flat-plane" or sky high redline, but it puts out almost identical HP (and more torque). Only took Ford a decade to catch up.
JAX nah. there's no argument here. the 5.2 is simply a better motor than any LS. if you take bias out of everyone's opinions then you end up with a low tech ancient v8 or an exotic never been done before v8
Must be why we're seeing all those Voodoo swaps. Oh, wait...
"Never been done before"? Except by Ferrari and McLaren...
6 years ago I thought this was lame… I’m 24 now and I wish we got this instead of the 4 banger, it would have for sure stole some Z sales
Lost me as soon as I heard that auto shift....
god bless the rotary
invinciblejets autos work better with turbos since the auto will keep the engine on boost more.
armymatt83 who cares..... driving about fun. Manual is fun. End of story
but like, it doesn't matter?
invinciblejets just saying there's a certain logic to it.
Sweet ride. I am definitely a turbo guy. My first "Mustang" was a 1979 Mercury Capri Turbo RS.
4.0 is junk I can attest to that :(
Matthew Bailey The 4.0 is not junk. They are cheap and very reliable. They don't make much hp but they make good torque so they work better in trucks and SUVs. Saying they are junk is idiotic.
I randomly saw you in the Blue Smurf yesterday when I was leaving work. I was sitting in my diablo tuned dodge charger. Keep it up bro

In a few years this is going to be a VERY common mod I believe. All of the V6 Mustang rental cars will be on the used market for cheap and you'll be able to put the 2 turbos on them for much less than the cost of the GT. Plus your insurance will be lower with the V6.
Best bang for your buck going forward.
name the intro miusic?

It would be cool to see more Mustangs like this!
