Real Civil “Engineer” takes one look at the nice, neatly organised battery array and thinks “nah, I’ll just whang them in any old where”. What an architect…
RCE : okay, okay, right, we're going to need a bunch of baby Wall-Es, and to get more baby Wall-Es, we're going to onvoke the power of the Beav... err.. I mean Wall-E-vles... yeah!
I don't know if youve played or if you know about a game called "surviving mars " basically the same concept but instead of the moon (grey) is mars (red) it's cool , it's a city builder. Would recommend since you are thee city builder
Remember watching a youtuber play this a little while back but hardly watched much of the episode because she was complaining about having to run the power lines and stuff and it was just making the video unfun to watch. This one is a far more fun view!
Can't believe I was awake late enough (insomnia) to actually watch one of your uploads as it became public!! Love the underground part of the game, gives me real "Dungeon Keeper" vibes - boy what a throwback to an ancient game from way back when... And jeeeeeez, that research tree, definitely big and long. Amazing video as always! Love your work man! Another game to put on the play list to check out one day!
@@crapparc after my comment I did a bit of Googling to see what happened to that game and the developer. Much regret to see there wasn't anything else after DK2 by the original dev. Can't believe they had a DK3 planned and then it all collapsed. Sad sad news. I used to play the absolute heck out of DK and DK2 growing up on the old Windows 95 PC dad had back then. Ahhhhh. At least we have the good memories from those days haha. I might go check out this KeeperFX mod and the Steam re-release of the first DK that came out earlier this year.
@@RookieGamingEngineer A lot of staff from Bullfrog later joined Lionhead but other than Black and White 1 and 2 I cannot recall much of what they made.
@@crapparc another blast from the past tbh! Oh man. Black & White was another good series. Where has that gone too. There was just something perfectly fitting about large "god-like" beings living amongst a human settlement. I remember being stressed about the whole good vs evil stuff in that game hah. I was also like 12 when I played it first. Looks like Lionhead ended up getting bought by Microsoft in 2006 and tbh, that's the end of that. It's a shame what's happening with the studios being bought out by Microsoft and then left to decay :(. All that locked in IP, it really pisses me off seeing a good game series permanently shelved
Architects would be the type to haphazardly put down batteries or other buildings. An engineer would do a nice efficient design that is well laid out and orderly
Barely even scratched the surface of the moon. It gets really complicated when you have multiple conveyors taking materials for production with humans living on the base and demands from construction contracts. Helpful hint, T mirrors the building you’re trying to place.
What me put off the most.... was the story content. The surface base got nuked (btw, with an explosion that should only appear in an oxygen rich athmosphere) and then... with WHO are the storyline-text-guys talking to? the drones?
Reminds me of a game I used to have that was similar except on Mars and u had to look after people. If concrete ends up being in the game & it gets mined by a building with a drill that goes side to side, I'm gonna start suspecting their same designer 😁
Seems like every game Matt plays starts ouy as perfect a startup base as it can get than disaster strokes ( i do tealize the asteriod is part of atory mode but still)
Late to these comments, but I have fun facts! So actually the same side of the moon always faces the earth. It's because the orbital period of the moon around the earth is the same as the period of rotation around its axis. This means that as it passes across the face of the earth during orbit, the part of the moon which is visible from the earth remains the same. Having said that, I'm not really sure how they're coming up with a "nighttime" period of 14.5 days. I'm pretty sure that the truth is that there is a dark side of the moon and a light side of the moon.
Are you confused? One side of the moon always faces the earth, but it doesn't always face the sun. It takes about a month for the moon to orbit Earth, and half that time the "backside" is facing the sun. The game is simplified, but roughly correct.
"Night on the moon lasts 14 ½ days" Well ... that's not how days work ... I know it meant one single night on the moon is 14 ½ earth days, it just sounded really funny 😂
I watched this and ended up spending a whole day watching other videos of the crust Charlie Pryor was the channel, seems there are a lot of uploads to his channel.
Not really, there are so much differences and the game is still only in beta, there’s not much you can do to really differentiate between space city builders if your going for semi realism
I starte playing yesterday and the first thing I thought, when I started marking out the mining zones: RCE is gonna draw a knob. Guess I'll find out now

Quite a lot of it reminds me of Surviving Mars - which I love, so I like the look of this too.
The music is amazing. There’s about 4 hours of songs in the game
Nothing lets you know you're watching an RCE video better than applying maximum priority to the _only_ building under construction.

Why's he played every automation game except factorio?
Seems like a very cool game, and with that tech tree it's sure having some depth.
If this gets out of Early A I'll definitely giving it a try ^^
