Ok, I weirdly adore the dice towers, it's such a fun idea. Plus, the way you build your own maze and the freedom it offers is super cool, I definitely want to see more!
There is an upgrade for the Dice towers also that auto rerolls any 1s each round (until they are not a 1) and there is another relic that makes different numbers different types of damage. Fun times.
I love that Matt kept getting the average or minimum value from the early dice towers on that first map (the average is *technically* 3.5, but I'm rounding because I'm an engineer).
Dice averages: d4 = 2.5 d6 = 3.5 d8 = 4.5 d10 = 5.5 d12 = 6.5 d20 = 10.5 For dps in any game, if the enemies have no damage reduction, then a higher rate of fire is always better. A unit with a slow rate of fire might waste a lot of time charging up a shot just to kill an enemy with a tiny amount of HP. Similarly, a greater range is sometimes more effective than doing more damage because the amount of time spent in the tower's area is equivalent to doing more damage. For a fast enemy, a greater range is more important, unless a tower has a continuous attack such as a laser or a constant damaging aura, etc. If enemies do have armor or damage resistance, and if there's no armor piercing units, then higher damage with more range is more effective. The exact ratios depend on the game.
Matt is definitely dyslexic, i've noticed he often reads something and processes the information in reverse. in this case he saw the attack rate of 0.25/sec as 4 atks/sec
Loving this block style tower defense game, going to check it out. It does appear that maze building is an architectural skill and engineers focus on the most efficient routes and shapes.
I have clocked 100 hours into this game already. it's just really well done and enjoyable! I can't wait for more levels and content! If you hold down Shift you can place towers of the same type over and over - well until you run out of gold anyway.
29:03 it's a D20 Matt they're commonly used in magic the gathering or dungeons & dragons and yes D stands for die the single for dice the number afterwards is the highest number
Well to be more accurate it's the number of sides, not the highest number. As you can get dice that don't have the usual numbers or even numbers at all printed/engraved on the faces.
@@Slye_Fox You can get dice like that (the board game Formula Dé uses several), but when people (and certainly D&D) say Dn they mean a die that both has n faces and is numbered 1 to n otherwise they would be more specific.
"We play as a novice engineer" .. "we then have to pick our weapons". Ah yes, a typical work day for an engineer. It's a *very* competitive job market...
Looks to me like the big dice towers make the best use of basically all the bonus tiles. Because of their high rate of fire, a percentage based speed increase will do more on them, as will a staic value damage bonus.
Unfortunately, big towers only get a boost proportional to their size. So a 2x2 tower gets 1/4 boost. However, because it's multiplicative, you can get up to a 2.44x boost
This is where that civil engineering degree comes in handy as you create the perfect cue of death for your enemies to wander through making sure they spend an agonizingly long time traveling over the shortest distance possible
I really really really enjoyed this video so much. I hope your are going to play this game for a while because it felt like you really enjoyed it too. The length and just commentary was so entertaining
It shows he's an engineer because he's the only guy who actually bothers to use the fact that you can extend the enemy's path. All the other tubers only focus on damage as soon as possible. This guy makes the map work in his favor.
Most players make tactical decisions when picking their paths. Not Matt, the path is always whatever brings him closest to the strongest shape or the nice number 😂

Well war thunder is cool but it is just boeing after some time

IF you like TD where you build your own lane, you should try "Artisan TD" also
npc comments are never avoidable

Oh yeah it's also T shaped, I never realised that!

Funny how a "T" becomes more structurally efficient when it's turned upside down

"I don't know what the highest number is"
It's a 20-sided die.
What would you expect what the highest number is?
😂 shut up!
@16:50 Isn't 0.25 attacks per second 1 attack every 4 seconds?
Not saying the sniper isn't a strong tower, but it's clearly not a fast shooter.
Matt is definitely dyslexic, i've noticed he often reads something and processes the information in reverse. in this case he saw the attack rate of 0.25/sec as 4 atks/sec

Another game proving that Matt does -not- have a gambling problem.
Who said he has gambling problem, he is enginer "He only does something that has a 100% chance of success."
It’s not gambling if you’re good at it
Dansker?!
Yes, absolutely finish the level!
The Game: You need to make the path as convoluted and non-functional as possible.
Matt: What do I look like, an Architect!?
29:03 it's a D20 Matt they're commonly used in magic the gathering or dungeons & dragons and yes D stands for die the single for dice the number afterwards is the highest number

yeah and brood is eggs, and therefore children...

I'd really love to see matt finish the level, this game was so fun to watch
Really enjoyed this! Would love to see this continue into a mini series
You build nice mazes. Another philosophy I’ve seen, which you briefly alluded to, is to make a giant spiral.
Yes more of this! Love tower defense games.
10:42 my mum heard that 💀
Really enjoyed this idea for a tower defence game, hoping he finishes it
I love this game and like watching the engineer play it. Some people can’t build and are frustrating to watch.
Been a long time since RCE last played a TD game.
Please, more of this, if you have the time and energy!
Pat to Paddy!

We definitely want to see more of this game Matt
This game is so heckin good. They just need like infinity more content.
Definitely do another video on this I absolutely loved it
WE NEED MORE OF THESE TURRETS
Trailmakers just dropped a new update with much much better logic blocks. The durability of blocks have been buffed massively.
Can’t wait to see the part 2 to this video showing off the rest of the campaign.
This game looks wicked fun!! Play again ASAP!
Just an FYI the squares with the upgrades are proportional. So if you put a 2X2 tower on a square with +100% damage it only gets +25% damage.
This game looks so fun, I hope you keep playing!!
Need a part 2 - I’m invested now
Honestly really liked this one. If like to see how ridiculous you can make some of the stuff in this game
That game seems really good, seeing more of it would be great
You sounded you had genuine fun in this one, so yes I want to see more of this.
It's safe to say Matt hasn't played any Warcraft 3 Tower Defense games back in the day
nice turrets 😁
This game looks awesome!! Please play some more for us!
Love these types of games. Finish it off!
This was fun! I wouldn't mind seeing the rest of this run.
Pretty fun game to watch, definitely do another tetris defense video.
Would love to see more runs on this game
Never in a million years would i have ever expected a warthunder promo from this guy lol
Please need more of this.
yes please play more of this I loved it
I’m down for seeing you finish it 👍🏻

A unique tower defense game!
Part 2 pls !!! Thx for the video 👌
It would be cool to see you do collabs with other creators?
this was a great vid! id love to see more off this game!
You should teach Dangerously Funny how to place Tetris tiles like an engineer
Yesss :D do the remaining levels!
Please do more of this game!
pls continue this game matt
Please plsy again as well as just any tower defense game they are so cool
Super fun video, would love to see more
YESSSSS absolutely wanna see you get to the end!
Just imagine if the next patch notes listed "reduced Sniper Tower damage and fire rate because RCE said they were "overpowered""
super fun vid, waiting for the next levels
This is awesome. Gotta see more please!
Would like to see a follow up, interesting game!
Love this game! Keep playing it
Yes, I would love to see more!!
The giant dice towers are a lot better than you think. They are extremely good
I very much enjoyed it. You should definitely play the rest
4 makes sense for the more common d6 number. 3.5 is the average roll of a d6.
Love to see more of this !
You should try Artisan TD this game have some "mecanics" like this game, really cool design and graphics really worth it
This game is awesome!! Definitely fo more vids
Yes I’m glad you played this I saw this and immediately thought of RCE
This game vaguely reminds me of Defense Grid, apart from in that game the towers themselves acted as walls rather than a separate contruction.
This game is great!! I want to see more!
More of this game, please 🙏
The game needs a way harder difficulty. And then I want to see matt destroy the game again XD
or struggle doing it.
Another episode please. This was fun
Yes, more of this please!
Doooo another videooo!!!! This was very fun watching and interesting
I wouldnt mind seeing more. The game looks fun, and gamba
can't wait for the follow ups
Hopefully one of these days you'll get a nat 20 on the big dice so you get a crit success, not a crit fail like in the next video.
You should play "no creeps were harmed td" as well
quite a fun little game. at least one more to get to the end
Well that's a silly question, of COURSE i want to see more, especially more of those efficient shapes 😏
i think i can speak for all of us when i say we need the next episode
This is look really fun! More please!
The MJ clip kills me every time.
