George will always be my Superman. Tim's great. But George IS Superman to me
I say Tim Daly he is My superman
Tim is better
I grew up with Tim Daly.
I agree, his voice is more powerful
Hmm
Imagine quitting your job as Superman to go be in some early 2000s soap opera
Ey, needs that soap dough
Kevin Conroy: *that's cute.*
Christopher McDonald also voiced Jor El in Superman TAS
Only time when Jor-(E)L, just like in comics, is just older Clark
@@FirstnameLastname-my7bz also in Smallville Tom Welling also plays a young Jor El in an episode however the guy they got to play older Jor El looks absolutely nothing like Tom Welling
And also the voice of Jor El is Terrance Stamp (General Zod from the Christopher Reeve films) who is so good as Jor El however he sounds completely different to the Jor El actor and Tom Welling who is American
@@JOVONO you are absolutely correct, I discovered that fact myself but only After I wrote this comment of mine. That was really cool of them to do that.
Christopher McDonald?
Was he born on a McDonald's or smth?
Fun fact: Every English voice actor for Sephiroth has also voiced Superman.
When did Lance Bass play Superman? 🤔
@@dcauwatchtowerjust yesterday I saw him
The ultimate level up will be getting someone like henry cavill or tyler hoeclin play sephiroth in live action
George and Tim are the same voice in my head, because as a kid they were great *Superman*, nothing else.
Tim Daily was always my favorite animated Supes voice!
Tim then George. I like how George made an attempt to sound like Tim and not just be wholly his own thing. Well, that's how I see it.
That's why I can't give George the number one spot even though he's my favourite voice of supes. He maybe my favourite but he's obviously doing a similar or his rendition of Tim's voice and Tim was the one who came up with the voice and how to voice supes
Here's to Jason Marsden, who actually gave life to the Eternal Youth himself in PETER PAN AND THE PIRATES back in 1990. Fun DC connection regarding James, his co-star in that FOX series was Tim Curry, who voiced Captain Hook. The same Tim Curry who got to voice the Joker for a few episodes of BTAS!
I like how McDonald voiced future superman, heavily resembled his father jor el not only in looks but voice. As well as adopting those metal brace things into his future costume, idk if it was just a coincidence or if he was trying to honor his culture somehow, cause if you notice both his mother and father had them
Not coincidence at all!
Tim was great but George just fit better in my opinion. Anyway im happy with either guy being the voice, those are the top two.
always get Morgan Le Fey's kid mixed up with Klarion the Witch boy, when I think back on that episode.
is the background music all from STAS' soundtrack? It's beautiful!
It is!
The goos and giggles lmao
I think having Christopher McDonald providing the voice of Superman for Batman Beyond made perfect sense especially as he portrayed of Jor-El in the animated series plus having his son in the future pretty much turns into an older version of his Kryptonian father while wearing a suit that honours his alien heritage really brings through the whole evolution of character full circle in the DCAU
Batman and Conroy (R.I.P.) were the flagship of the DCAU
I feel like if we're talking about Flagships, Batman is the DCAU's flagship hero. His show was first, then the justice league episode of batman beyond predated the justice league cartoon, then DCAU batman is the DCAU property with the most spin off movies.
No Batman is the lead of the DCAU he has two animated series and is a major character in Justice league and Justus league unlimited with guest appearances in Superman the animated series and static shock
And multiple movies
correct.
DCAU is Batman centric
DCEU is Superman centric
Terry: "The guy's the greatest hero who ever lived. Uh, *one* of the greatest."
Batman has the most appearances for sure, but I can see how some see Superman as the lead of the DCAU. Superman the Animated Series, Justice League, and Justice League Unlimited form a nice trilogy of series with a cohesive storyline that centers around Superman. Batman and his series act as sort of spinoffs for this story (even technically every show is a spinoff from Batman The Animated Series).
Batman's the only character to appear in every DCAU series at least once
George newbern? Why do i suddenly hear an orchestral music performance in a distance?
Oh no! Not him!
Coming from the Final Fantasy fandom to the DC one is a trip ALL I CAN HEAR IS SEPHIROTH
I'm sorry, but there's no way anyone but Batman is the DCAU'S flagship.
Tim Daley was my favorite Superman. I really wish he’d stuck around because George just always felt… off.
This is the difference between Superman and Batman. No disrespect to the actors because most of them did a great job.
But there was no Superman voice actor
Not like everybody agrees that Kevin Conroy *was* Batman
The other characters Jason voiced sound so 90s like snapper for example
Tim is definitely better but George did a good job and he sounds really close to him
Tim Daly is a great Superman voice
Tim daily will Always be the best
Superman.
Batman will always be the dcau flagship superhero BTAS was out for almost 4 years before Superman TAS came out
Tim Daly's voice was the best
Conroy was to Batman as Tim is to Supes
Control was quite a bit more than Tim as he played Batman throughout the entire DCAU whilst Tim was just in one series.
@@KangarooMonkey Tim played Superman in his own animated series and JL & JLU from what I remember, and several Dcau films if not more.
@@Veed.l0 George Newbern was Supes in JL and JLU.
@@Veed.l0 no, he played him in STAS but got replaced for JL, JLU and the Fatal 5 movie. They literally say this in the video.
He did play Superman in 4 non DCAU movies and he did still voice him in his own series so I don’t want to understate his contributions to the character, but he shares the pedestal of most iconic Superman voice with George Newbern whilst Kevin Controy is mostly unchallenged.
Also, if you look at the sheer volume of things Kevin Conroe voiced Batman in he’s in a tier of his own.
@@KangarooMonkey yeah, you're right, George sounded very similar in JL
Guilherme Briggs.
Tim daly and george newburton are top then mark harmon was pretty good too
I actually met George at the Atlanta comic comic, he also played in friends as the hairy guy
He sure did!
Shooter!! ❤
Nice
Tim Daly was the goat
Great video as always. Informative and well-presented but the ONE issue:
That bit at the beginning.
"Superman is arguably the DC Animated Universe's flagship superhero."
Uh... no. Not even "arguably." Batman is the DCAU's flagship superhero. The DCAU began and with Batman and (in terms of the final episode of JLU) technically ended with Batman.
Every TV show in the franchise had at least one appearance from Batman.
You could say that Superman is the DC Universe's flagship superhero (as in DC Comics,) but there is no reasonable argument whatsoever that he's the flagship superhero of the DCAU.
Though crazy how some of the voice actors sounded so similar they were indistinguishable from one another as I watched this Superman as a kid.
Brazilian dub : Guilherme Briggs take it or leave ir
Believe or not fleisher cartoons are his very first debut in his own cartoon series its from the 1940s love it that superman the animated series was influenced by the 40s cartoons
George Newburn is easily the best out of all of them. Glad Tim Daly left the role so he could voice the character. He’s easily the most iconic Superman voice of all time.
Ah yes george newborne, THE VOICE OF FUCKING SEPHIROTH LMAOOO
Tim will always be my Superman. I hear his voice when I read the comics.
21:03 "she looks gothic"
Sums up Batman: TAS when ever the style changed to The New Batman Adventures
There is no 21:03 in this Short 😅
@dcauwatchtower idk why I'm seeing this reply so late
But uh, basically i was watching another video and replied to that video. But youtube had a glitch to where my reply goes to my last viewed Shorts video😅
That video just also happened to be related to DC animated stuff
@@haydnFB What video were you commenting on?
Tim daly will always b 1 n only the definitive voice if superman
No, Batman is the flagship hero
Tim Daly from the TV show Wings
Tim Daly was best imo
Tim on top
BATMAN
is Tim Daly retired like OG Harley Quinn VA?
Not that I know of!
All six of them nailed what is arguably the most quintessential animated Superman of all time. Yes, even the baby... wonder how they're doing nowadays?
Tim dailey>
"Arguably" Keep arguing cause it ain't true 😂
Not the flagship character of the DCAU Batman Was
you did this because of Me. I practically rule Watchtower now HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
On more serious and philosophical note. Superman's voice change neatly corresponds with his origins changes in All forms of Supermedia.
he is Only main character that was retconed by his own creators, who added Kents (primarily to explain why of secret identity, because father told him people will fear his powers, and why he is Superman because Mary (not Martha) said to use his powers to assist humanity) .
Then other creators such as Bill Finger (yes, Kid Named, that co-created Batman) empathized that went Kents died of old age John (not Jonathan) died last.
Then Earth 1 and now he actually was superhero Before Kents died, he was Superboy. And also Kryptonians don't jump high on Krypton anymore.
Then it is (finally) Jonathan and Martha name change.
Then they both died because of an alien flower that made them younger and then rapidly aged them killing them.
Then there's Superman The Movie where Jonathan dies first. Of heart attack.
Then The Man of Steel reboot and Both Kents alive when Clark is SuperMAN and he was never Superboy (again), for all of which old Superman fans sent John Byrne bunch of death threats.
Then Birthright which undid artificial womb thing and made "S" a symbol from Krypton, just like it was in The Movie.
Then Secret Origin which made Clark to be initially Superboy again (although much more briefly).
Then New52. Kents are dead before Clark becomes SuperMAN (again), for which writers were slammed by NEWer Superman fans that thought they were make him more like Batman (I know, very funny).
The Reborn which made ALL of the mess above canon. As long as one detail doesn't outright contradicting another (good luck).
Then Doomsday Clock and Kents are alive again, definitely this time.
Batman or Spider-Man don't have this. Waynes or Uncle Ben will always die before they become superheroes. Or it's clear alternative universe.
Did I mention that there's also difference at what age Clark landed on Earth. Initially he was a baby (meaning 0 interaction with Krypton), then 2-3 years old (meaning he played with Kryptonian toys, one time was kidnapped by Brainiac, etc), or outright FINALLY formed as a baby from fetus just as he landed, like in The Man of Steel.
You can't name any other superhero with THAT many drastic changes. Especially by Creators. Especially if they are The Main characters of their own ongoings.
(This video first existed about 5 years ago 😘)
@@dcauwatchtower time travel
chill out dude
@@skarloey1214 or what
Batman tas will always be superior
Supes is not even close to being arguably the DCAU’s flagship character
Sounds like you're making an argument 😎
