Ah thank you for letting me know! I held back from releasing this hack for that reason so that's great to hear you enjoyed & appreciated the clarity 🙃 ✨
Thank you! I was in the process of making a pair of these and trying to workout how to make them fully elasticated! Love your patterns and the tutorials are superb, really detailed, giving me the confidence to make my first wearable anything
What perfect timing! I have made the palazzo pants unfortunately I made them too big. I was just looking at trying the smaller size and was wondering how I could change it to have elastic, and here it is! Beautiful pattern, I love the pockets. Thank you.
oh perfect! That's great the timing is on point for you - feel free to pop me a message if you need to troubleshoot any sizing issues - I get back quickest on Etsy 🥰 ✨
I usually struggle to watch a video all the way through or without skipping bits, especially when not working on the project its helping with. However I've watched all of this one, and can't wait to try this hack, and make these trousers. And show you to my daughter as we are on this sewing journey together.
Absolutely! All my patterns are cut to be unisex and a few other male sewists have made this one - you can find their pics in my instagram stories or Etsy review images if you'd like to get an idea of how they might look! 🙃 💕
I looked on Etsy and the pattern is s,m,l. A video on , I think, instagram said the pattern went to 3xl? Where do I find that size? Thank you! Beautiful pattern and tutorial ❤
Hi, I bought the pattern so I can help out a bit. So if you look at the sizing, M doesn't mean conventional Medium. It ranges through several sizes as it is very adjustable in the waist. I think I made the trouser in size "M" and it carried me through several size changes in the past years (pregnancy+postpartum). My guess if you look at "pattern L" then you will be able to adjust it to conventional size L-3XL
So the 'Large' size of this pattern is equivalent to an international 3XL/UK 24/US 20 - if you have a look at the size chart in the listing it gives the exact measurements so you can check against your own sizings 🙃 There's also a free grading guide for this pattern to adjust up to any size above that which you can download here - drive.google.com/file/d/12IPoNV7CgQ8I4kST6tbXlWrp9cOWQcnA/view?usp=sharing 🙃 ✨
Hi ! Thank you for this hack. I have a question : I did not catch anything about the buttonholes in the video (I hope I did not just miss it). As far as I understand, they are made to let the ribbon stick out of the waistband and should not be necessary in the elasticated version. Is that right ? Did I misunderstood something ?
I’ve never done a partially elasticated waist band. I’m a little bit confused as to why the elastic is cut into 2 pieces that end up being joined together?
It isn't always - I developed that method to make it easier to sew the back waistband channel as there is a lot of fabric ease at the back on this pattern 🙃 👌 ✨
hey so yes that's right - I show the pattern assembly method I use in the original video. The download also includes an A0/large format version that you can have printed at a local copyshop/online pattern printers if you prefer to avoid the pattern assembly process 👍 ✨
Such a Clever Pants Miss! Thank you for the caveat, as a pulchritudinously hipped woman, i really appreciate the heads up.
I really appreciate the caveat that it won't work for everyone. Also showing how to test for waist-to-hip ratio was so cool!
Ah thank you for letting me know! I held back from releasing this hack for that reason so that's great to hear you enjoyed & appreciated the clarity 🙃 ✨

What Kind of double points pins are you using ... Where can I find them?
Ah thank you! And they're called 'fork pins' made by a company called Clover - much more secure than regular pins, I love them! 😍 ✨

That's right! No buttonholes needed for this version 👌 ✨

Would like to try making this pant. I’m not good at putting together pdf patterns?
Check out her original tutorial video. It shows you how! :)

I had a hard time lining up all the patterns, so went to a printers, had 2 x A0 size prints made for around £9, worth every penny!
Elasticised????
Ah is that the term you use in the US? I'm from the UK and we say elasticated 🙃 ✨
