    I really appreciate the caveat that it won't work for everyone. Also showing how to test for waist-to-hip ratio was so cool!

      Ah thank you for letting me know! I held back from releasing this hack for that reason so that's great to hear you enjoyed & appreciated the clarity 🙃 ✨

    Good morning Sasha! I just found you on RUclips this morning. I was looking for instructions for making a coat from a vintage blanket and came across your tutorial. Wow! I am blown away by your genius ideas!! I then watched this tutorial for making the elasticized waist for palazzo pants and once again I am blown away by your creative ideas! I have a gorgeous vintage wedding dress with exquisite lace fabric with a lily-of-the-valley design woven into it. There are many yards of fabric in this dress and my plan is to make myself a pant suit to wear for special occasions. I think your palazzo pant pattern is the one to use for this project. I will keep you posted on how my projects go. Thank you so very much for sharing your sewing and creative expertise! xo Laura

    I usually struggle to watch a video all the way through or without skipping bits, especially when not working on the project its helping with. However I've watched all of this one, and can't wait to try this hack, and make these trousers. And show you to my daughter as we are on this sewing journey together.

    What perfect timing! I have made the palazzo pants unfortunately I made them too big. I was just looking at trying the smaller size and was wondering how I could change it to have elastic, and here it is! Beautiful pattern, I love the pockets. Thank you.

    I looked on Etsy and the pattern is s,m,l. A video on , I think, instagram said the pattern went to 3xl? Where do I find that size? Thank you! Beautiful pattern and tutorial ❤

      Hi, I bought the pattern so I can help out a bit. So if you look at the sizing, M doesn't mean conventional Medium. It ranges through several sizes as it is very adjustable in the waist. I think I made the trouser in size "M" and it carried me through several size changes in the past years (pregnancy+postpartum). My guess if you look at "pattern L" then you will be able to adjust it to conventional size L-3XL

      @ Thank you! 🥰

      So the 'Large' size of this pattern is equivalent to an international 3XL/UK 24/US 20 - if you have a look at the size chart in the listing it gives the exact measurements so you can check against your own sizings 🙃
      There's also a free grading guide for this pattern to adjust up to any size above that which you can download here -

    Hi ! Thank you for this hack. I have a question : I did not catch anything about the buttonholes in the video (I hope I did not just miss it). As far as I understand, they are made to let the ribbon stick out of the waistband and should not be necessary in the elasticated version. Is that right ? Did I misunderstood something ?

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  Месяц назад

      That's right! No buttonholes needed for this version 👌 ✨

    I’ve never done a partially elasticated waist band. I’m a little bit confused as to why the elastic is cut into 2 pieces that end up being joined together?

    • @sashastarlight
      @sashastarlight  3 месяца назад +1

      It isn't always - I developed that method to make it easier to sew the back waistband channel as there is a lot of fabric ease at the back on this pattern 🙃 👌 ✨

      hey so yes that's right - I show the pattern assembly method I use in the original video. The download also includes an A0/large format version that you can have printed at a local copyshop/online pattern printers if you prefer to avoid the pattern assembly process 👍 ✨
