Hard to believe this was one of the earlier releases for msfs. The visuals and sounds are still first rate today. I love all the vintage touches like the old-school gyro instruments, hammerited metal and canvas trim.
Good to see you putting the Piaggi through its paces - has to be one of my favourite aircraft in msfs - it just has a great immersive feel to it and the texturing is spot on. Even down to the creaky trim wheel ;)
While trying it out prior to recording the video I didn't discover the generator breaker above the instrument panel - and got stuck with the wheels up. The hand crank worked wonderfully to lower the gear (which folded up because I didn't lock it out!)
Thanks for another great video. I really enjoy this content and similar (like the Carenado videos) that you've brought to us. Hope you'll do some more short presentations of other "hidden" gems that are not necessarily "study level" but enjoyable to fly.
Another wonderful review video that reminds me there are some real gems among the earlier 3rd party MSFS releases. I wish I had the time to fly them all ...
I'm looking forward for the An 2 release I've been waiting personally since the sim came out I'd like to see how the plane performed in 30mph airspeed!
@@jonbeckett Right. With the upcoming An 225, Microsoft was able to also acquire the license to release the An 2 as well. It's expected to be release sometime next month 🥹
Andrei has got a bit of work to do on this Aircraft and you may have noticed the lack of Co Pilot and floating harness. There is a Fix for this issue but it hasn't come from AT Sim who should give this otherwise superb Aircraft some TLC in the way of long overdue Up Date. Thanks for your detailed Reviews one of which persuaded us to purchase the Ercoupe which BeLoved Co Pilot is flying the Rivets off as i write this.
@@jonbeckett Hello Johnathan,.......We just receved an EMail from Andrey with the latest Link to an UpDate. Please disregard the niggles above and thanks again for your efforts to keep us all informed.
@@jonbeckett Yeah it switches the Directional Gyro mode between "DG" (which I assume means "directional gyro") and something called "X-O", but I'm not really sure what it's supposed to do or if it's modeled correctly.
is it avilable on the MSFS 2020 store ?? oh say it isn't pleaseeeee it's something I would like to fly realy. I simply luv European planes with some having backwards airspeed indicators to backwards altimeters . Unlike this one which it seemsto have a propper alitmeter
I bought it directly from the developer. I know a lot of developers don't put their aircraft in the store, because there are all sorts of legal and commercial hoops to jump through.
@@jonbeckett phew well just got myself an Otter and now will have to just save my money for important things like House insurance comming up in a few months :)

It's been continually updated :)
Tack!
Thank you :)

I do smile when something doesn`t quite go to plan...(2 second pause) "hmmm.......interesting...." Keep up the good work. 😉
Thats why I do first take, every time, and try to solve as I go, rather than edit things together.

You and me both!
Nice. I'm so glad you liked it. those window do open. it dose have its miner faults but locking beyond those it's a true Gem. Mav
Thanks again!
Looks like what would happen if a beech t34 and a cessna t37 had a baby

I think it's been held back because of the war Russia started. I suspect it was ready to go a very, very long time ago.

That's a cool aircraft! Too bad it's not on Xbox. I like it!
I always thought this thing has auto-mixture, so no need to lean it out manually, no?
Well... it has a mixture lever...
@@jonbeckett It has, but it does nothing except cutoff when fully pulled...
Now you save so many aircraft , is there one in your collection that absolutely stands out as a favourite?
That's a good question. I still go back and fly the Black Square Caravan quite a bit.
The Black Square aircraft are good :) And the DC-6 :)
I've been trying to figure out what the switch at the top left of the directional gyro does. It's not described in the manual. Any ideas?
If you turn the tool-tips on (in the accessibility menu, I think?) the sim will tell you what things are.
