  • A quick test flight of the Caproni Vizolla C22-J in Microsoft Flight Simulator - taking off from Wycombe Air Park and throwing it around the sky for half an hour. After three (yes, THREE) approaches, we finally got it back on the ground in one piece. A learning experience :)

    I have had this aircraft from the beginning. One of my favorites! It is slippery, and you have to keep in mind the engine spool up delay. Another excellent and fun review. Thanks!

    What amazing graphics! I saw one at an airshow 35 years ago. Like a small T-37.

    Looks a lot of fun, may indulge myself.

    It's been a while, but if I recall correctly, it's designed to be landed with speed brakes extended. AND the trim settings for takeoff and landing are up, way up, insanely up!

      That makes sense - because that's the configuration I had on the final approach.

    Awesome stuff, you're covering all my favourite aircraft. Like the Piaggio, it nails the vintage look and feel.

    Not seen this one before, reminds me of the jetsons for some reason, that style of look. Great video again.

      Hah. You're right. We need the puttering engine noise with it.

    First thing I bought along with the 'V' tail after downloading MSF. I used it when planning the Italian Alps flight. My absolute favourite plane to fly in MSF. And yep, full flap and spoilers to land.

      Yeah - I learned that the hard way :)

    Yup. Love this little bird and had it around it's release time. It was just updated about a day or so ago. Added the GNS430 as a reference for better navigation. Just brought it out again and flew a few circuits at KONP (freeware) and it was a blast.

      its so good now with the gns! don't forget to add the WT GNS from the marketplace, as per default it points to the original and much simpler Asobo GNS

    Nice video , I fly a Caproni Vizolla Calif A21S glider in real life , and it has the same airbrake spoiler sett up. It's fantastic and yes the wings of the glider are a lot longer so more stable . Nice to see this machine in the simulation world.

    Until this, I’d never known an aircraft that requires speed brake on landing. I only found out after reading the POH. Great add on though.

    I have it a year, very peculiar and unique plane, its own character

    I love this little plane. I got it last year. It’s great for low and slow. It has so much little details in it. If it needs any updating it would be minimal in my opinion. Very nice.

      I use it for VR also. I only use VR in small aircraft because using it in something like an airbus, or Boeing jet there’s really no benefit.

      I found at the flaps don’t do a whole lot to slow the aircraft down, but to the spoilers do obviously

    • @jonbeckett
      @jonbeckett  Год назад

      Yes - you need to use spoilers on approach - as I discovered.

    Sorry for correcting you, but the name is CAPRONI VIZZOLA, not Caparoni Vizolla, even those hashtags are wrong

    I found the flaps are not great at slowing the plane down. you need to use the spoilers?

    • @jonbeckett
      @jonbeckett  Год назад

      Yes - you absolutely have to use spoilers to land - as you saw :)

    I think the C22-J is the best bang for the buck plane for MSFS. So fun and so cheap!
