For what i know the ''sequel'' is so absurd that seems written under an all-you-can-drugs psicosis. It fits the Tim Burton style, i wonder why he never adapted it
@Lord Shennington The second book was a direct sequel to the first. Instead of ending off with Charlie and his family in the factory, the first book ended off with them and Wonka still flying towards it. It was also dramatically different because the book: - Had Charlie, Willy Wonka, Grandpa Joe and all of his family on the elevator. (Yes, they put the bed in it. - Had the elevator shoot out into orbit when they were trying to get back into the elevator. - Featured an empty space hotel that was about to open and was formally placed there by the US President. - Had alien creatures encounters. - Finally featured two very unorthodox candies where one makes you young by 20 years while the other ages you by a lot depending on how much you've taken. You should read it. It certainly fits the style of the movie, though I wonder how they're gonna tie it in as a sequel.
I mean, with the grandma's aged voice and accent, my immature brain always hears her say it as "penis" anyways, lol. She's so off her rocker, it wouldn't shock me if she said something like that, as equally out-of-left-field, lol. But yeah, highboi really put the icing on the cake
There was concept art for a cancelled 90s animated willy wonka adaptation cancelled because of the failure of quest for camelot. The two concept art pieces are pretty nightmarish, especially the violet concept art.
10:25, that is the entire point of these side characters. they contribute pretty much nothing to the story at all, they just get wiped and the parents being stupid is by design, it shows since the beggining that they are awful parents. This is just to contrast the healthy relationship charlie has with his family. The german woman lets her child be obese just as herself is (that's not fat shaming, that's just a movie fact). The blonde competitor makes her child be over competitive to the point where she feels no empathy for other people. The rich girl is spoiled by her spineless father even though he spoils her out of apparent love. The smart kid is pretty much the same thing as the blonde girl, he doesn't have empathy due to the fact he's so brainy and his parents are also spineless like the rich guy, but out of fear their own child because he's so smart.
The editing on Charlie’s dad covering up Charlie’s ears while his grandpa swears was really clever, especially since Charlie Brown is also named… well, Charlie

11:27, bro I'm more surprised that the whole town hasn't caved in because the is like a whole like 10 - 100km (cubic) of ground just missing and that makes my head scratch.🤔🤔
This man somehow managed to keep the emotional gravitas of Charlie and his bitter af grandpa while STILL inserting as many cuss words into it as he could. Also, he gets the best British impression of the year award.
On the grandpa getting up: It could be that this is the last of the strength in his body - one tour of the factory, and then all of his strength is spent and he dies in his sleep.
U know , this movie kid scared the shit out of me as a child, i mean it's Roald Dahl, most of his novel do contain these kind of stuff, but it's still scary, like when the kid got sucked into the pipe, the other one swelled up, the other one fell into an incinerator, and one got minimized I could only calm down, when I saw them alive again at the last scene, except for the kid who got strechted too much
It seems like the message this movie is trying to tell kids: "If you got a few bucks, go use it to gamble. Because you might just win. maybe no the 1st or 2nd time, but at some point. " pretty crazy.

10:16 One of the main points that was made in the book was about how the parents are also to blame for how their children act so it was probably intended
Yea
3:24 peanuts reference is hilarious 🤣
i love how no one has dared to make the second book into a movie
For what i know the ''sequel'' is so absurd that seems written under an all-you-can-drugs psicosis.
It fits the Tim Burton style, i wonder why he never adapted it
I've never read it- what was the second book about?
Wasn't it something dramatically different?
@Lord Shennington The second book was a direct sequel to the first. Instead of ending off with Charlie and his family in the factory, the first book ended off with them and Wonka still flying towards it. It was also dramatically different because the book:
- Had Charlie, Willy Wonka, Grandpa Joe and all of his family on the elevator.
That’s because Roald Dahl hated the Gene Wilder version so much he refused to let movie studios adapt the second book
@@jenkinsfamily2229 damn, why'd he hate it so much?
i've personally never liked it, but still.
I absolutely lost it when he said 'You smell like penis' instead of the iconic peanuts. Been on the floor for 10 minutes, laughing
I mean, with the grandma's aged voice and accent, my immature brain always hears her say it as "penis" anyways, lol. She's so off her rocker, it wouldn't shock me if she said something like that, as equally out-of-left-field, lol. But yeah, highboi really put the icing on the cake
And you smell like experimental meds and IV bags had me laughing
Dude same. That shit has my chest hurting from laughing so damn much
the part right after got me “and you smell like experimental medications and IV bags”

The talking squirrels part is one of the best moment on the channel.

Hello squirrel (^^)
@@MDAnthony434You're the second MD fan I've seen in High Boi's comments.

The Squirrel part left me dead. I haven't laughed like this in weeks.
Same here. I literally paused and went straight to the comments lol.
There was concept art for a cancelled 90s animated willy wonka adaptation cancelled because of the failure of quest for camelot.
The two concept art pieces are pretty nightmarish, especially the violet concept art.
This movie was already hilarious and fun to watch, but the way you edited it made it 10 times funnier and enjoyable to watch.

This was possibly one of the most enjoyable High Boi movie recaps yet. Just a crackhead recapping a crackhead movie. It’s perfect.
14:38 this once made me laugh so hard because he almost says the same thing in the real movie.
11:05 The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
I’m surprised he didn’t make a Count Dooku or Saruman joke about that, or anything related with the father.
Damn you beat me to it.

wrong movie!
The editing on Charlie’s dad covering up Charlie’s ears while his grandpa swears was really clever, especially since Charlie Brown is also named… well, Charlie
The voice overs of the grandparents really made this episode S-tier
"How does he legally make candy?" Probably like every other company I've worked for. They pay off the inspector.

13:00 holy shit this is incredibly fucking cursed

Once again I kneel in utter gratitude to high boi for making recaps of films that are hilarious, unique of one another and easy to understand. I'll take this over illegally pirating films any day now.
“He hasn’t talked to anyone, so he defaults back to his first line of code.” “HELLO WORLD”
Man I remember watching this in school when it was christmas. But seeing you review it and meme about its moments is pure gold.
Did you know that all these actors were all played by Al Pacino? Its amazing how he can play all these diverse characters especially after him playing every character including women in the Godfather. Simply amazing. Also, at 5:12 I want to correct him. U know , this movie kid scared the shit out of me as a child, i mean it's Roald Dahl, most of his novel do contain these kind of stuff, but it's still scary, like when the kid got sucked into the pipe, the other one swelled up, the other one fell into an incinerator, and one got minimized
I could only calm down, when I saw them alive again at the last scene, except for the kid who got strechted too much
