A team ascending is how the Gators are being labeled. The mystery of what actually happened during that first bye week may never be solved. But the team came together like no other time in Napier’s time at Florida. A brilliant turnaround and it’s so much fun to watch.
I was at to Ron ZOOK field with my 9 year old and that memory will last forever ! 😂😂😂 .. all was good until the end for the game when this fsu fan in the gator section tried to lecture all of us on sportsmen-ship ! When they pull that gator head out and dig turf up at Florida field all bets are off .. they got all they deserved . The noles are the most obnoxious fan base in all of college football and their 5 million dollar a win coach fits their program to a tee.

Coach Norvel gave up the most sacks in a Gator/noel game (8), coach Norvel gave up the most forced fumbles in the Gator/noles game (8) and in less than 12 months coach Norvel went from double digit wins (13) Dec 2, 2023 to double digit losses (10) Nov 30, 2024, now that's coaching. I wonder if his players and recruits realize the greatness they are and will experience for the next 5 years.
I feel right now with Lagway...he seems similar to ARichardson where deep balls weren't really the issue..it's the mid to short throws...difference is Lagway has touch and I think that'll improve alot with more practice and offseason....ARichardson threw fastballs all over the field. Definitely excited for this team moving forward.
Yea they were saying he was off but he was hitting those mid/short range receivers in the hands. Not always a perfect throw but they have to come up with those for him to allow him to stay on the field, move the chains and get his feel

My only disappointment was the 2 pt conversion. I picked the game 31-10 and they blew it. I thought the FSU TD would be late when it did not matter. Norvell is frustrated. He should be. Maybe Gus will help fix that. He did wonders with UCF ;)

Ali, I am thrilled with the win over FSU. As an ‘84 grad, I’ve lived with the terrible teams and cheered the champion team. This team has given glimpses of both. I have high hopes for the future. With that said, I cannot disagree more with you about the post game events. Like you said, act like you have been there before. Which several players and coaches appeared to have failed to do. I am fine with heated rivalry, but blatant disrespect is wrong. I hope you don’t encourage your children to do the same thing. This is a team for whom most of the playmakers are in because of injuries, not because of recognition of talent by the coaching staff. This is a team who had to go to their 7 million dollar per year HC in the bye week and tell him to simplify the defense, despite abysmal defensive performances x 2.5 years. This is an HC who still makes bizarre end of half calls and still puts 12 men on the field repeatedly. This is a team where when someone makes a boneheaded play, he doesn't ride the pine afterwards. This is a team who is unlikely to recruit in the top 10 (again) despite all of the positive recruiting momentum. This is a team built on smoke in mirrors, and it will show. I'm a lifelong Gator, but this isn't sustainable unless major changes are made. And they won't be, because "well that's how we did it at Louisiana." Nevertheless, great win. Go Gators!

Regardless of all conversations all year long what we asked for was Improvement we got exactly that 7 and 5 and we got the Improvement that's what we asked for Billy and the boys have earned the right to return but we still need an aggressive offensive coordinator that can use time management properly
And now you need to add we are so deep into the depth chart these younger players are getting experience they're going to come back as experienced players last year this all begins to stack itself on each other to make a better team
The young players that were scared to go into their first ball game or two are going to come back next year with confidence and they're going to be hungry to go back in with what they've learned and they won't have any game fear they'll be ready to play in many cases most cases

We went 7-5 against this schedule. Georgia the greatest team and coach ever went 10-2 against a harder schedule than they usually have. We will have the same difficult schedule next year. If we 9 or 10 we make the playoffs

Emotion and a thirst to win are good things. Controlling that emotion and focusing it on the correct direction wins games. A Junior should know better and Napier needs to show the way to making mature decisions. And he will. Norvell's immature reaction, while understandable, was not a good choice nor was it good leadership. Yes Ali, planting a flag is not a big deal. Perhaps sitting out the first half of a bowl game will make the point that choices matter. Disrespecting your rival is not a good choice.
Lagway is a true freshman, not a redshirt freshman. he will be a sophomore next year. if you don't play your first year, you keep your red shirt and have an extra year of eligibility and would be a redshirt freshman your second year.

I did not misspeak. In 2004, before the Florida game in Tallahassee, the field was dedicated to Bobby Bowden. Ron Zook had already been fired but was still coaching the team. The Gators won- hence “Ron Zook Field.”

I'm curious if all the buyout money got sent to NIL to pick up recruiting. The real story though is the defense. Very dominant at Ron Zook Field. Also, FSU has been damaging the turf at visiting fields for decades. Then they cry like babies when someone plants a flag.

just look at the reaction of all the other schools where the same thing happened recently.
We went 7-5 against this schedule. Georgia the greatest team and coach ever went 10-2 against a harder schedule than they usually have. We will have the same difficult schedule next year. If we 9 or 10 we make the playoffs

Emotion and a thirst to win are good things. Controlling that emotion and focusing it on the correct direction wins games. A Junior should know better and Napier needs to show the way to making mature decisions. And he will. Norvell's immature reaction, while understandable, was not a good choice nor was it good leadership.
Yes Ali, planting a flag is not a big deal. Perhaps sitting out the first half of a bowl game will make the point that choices matter. Disrespecting your rival is not a good choice.

Lagway is a true freshman, not a redshirt freshman. he will be a sophomore next year. if you don't play your first year, you keep your red shirt and have an extra year of eligibility and would be a redshirt freshman your second year.

I did not misspeak. In 2004, before the Florida game in Tallahassee, the field was dedicated to Bobby Bowden. Ron Zook had already been fired but was still coaching the team. The Gators won- hence “Ron Zook Field.”

Hated the flag plant. Defense was awesome but with 5 lost fumbles, this game should have been over by the 3rd quarter. We beat a bad team with an historically bad offense. Enjoy the win, it was well earned but remember that we beat a 2 win team…have to get better to win a bowl game and finish with an amazing 8 wins this year. Go Gators!

Fans and the pundit class sometimes become like the mob, always agitating and losing their minds. Billy just showed why leadership should never give in to clamor from them all. Been saying this since Billy was hired: Billy is a GREAT COACH in the making. He came in here in what was a toxic culture of selfishness and lack of integrity, started by Meyer's breakdown, all the way through Mullen's i dont care attitude.
I hope the fans and the pundit class learn their lessons and STOP acting like spoiled children, calling for Billy's head AFTER THE THIRD GAME of the season. If Strickland had listened to ya'll we would be in a bigger mess.
I am eating some crow. I 100% did not believe this team had a chance at finishing above .500. I was wrong and very happy to be wrong. Do I still believe Billy needs to hire an OC.
