I don't remember where i read the math about it but in short, more mana means more heals means less downtime means more killing mobs means faster xp. Plus you will be going with Blessing of Wisdom most of the time just for the mana.

Edward Biak it’s funny, so iv been leveling solo doing quests etc, and I almost exclusively use might and I rarely have mana problems, the only times I end up needing to drink is if I’m fighting mobs higher level than I or I pull more than 1 or I’m soloing elites, other than that, mana hasn’t been an issue. Plus if you are casting constantly you stop the rule of 5 leaving you to not regen any mana at all. Check out Esfands build too, he also goes BoM
@@Milloh The increase in damage is negligible. 20% increase of blessing of might is only an additional 37 AP at the highest rank of Blessing of Might. It's only an 11 AP improvement at rank 1 of BoM. Improved Blessing of Might just isn't worth 5 talent points. If it was a 20% increase for one talent point it still wouldn't be worth it. A 15% decrease in mana costs for the most commonly cast spells are worth the 5 points. The synergy of less mana used and more mana returned makes a significant and noticeable difference.
A pro tip: pick up first aid. Theres nothing more satisfying than bubble bandaging while your mana regens to finish off whatever was giving you trouble.
Dont think having 1st aid is a pro tip.. Everyone regardless of class has max rank 1st aid.. Never even really saw anyone in vanilla or any xpac without 1st aid.. 1st aid isnt even really an option, it is manditory and again never met anyone who didnt have 1st aid ever when playing.
You could pick talents randomly with paladin and still have almost the same leveling speed as the meta spec. People take a fifteen year old game, that was conquered fifteen years ago, way too seriously.
Dwarves are the kings of strat.. Detect treasure is invaluable in knowing which crates to loot and which are phony.. Great way to reliably farm for holy water too!
Paladins in Vanilla synergize with each other really well. If you have a ret pally with Sanctity Aura it’s a tremendous threat increase. Remember all your threat basically comes from holy damage only. Imp RF only buffs holy damage. As prot you should be running blessing of sanctuary on you and salvation on everyone else. Having another pally gives you wisdom as well.

Yeah. There is a lot of viable leveling builds for paladin that do work. For me I went for seal of command, then consecrate and then points towards precision. I do group and aoe pulls more often and ow at level 40 I have ravager so I'm able to cleave down easier. Although I definitely see the appeal of doing a prot AoE leveling build got level 40.
Eminence iv always gone back and forth with that, the idea being might gives more damage which then kills things faster, which equals less healing req. but honestly Iv tried both and they seem fairly similar! But this is why classic is great, tons of options and theory’s!

Idk. I’m almost level 58 and throughout my leveling I’ve simply gotten water from mages 5stacks at a time and never thought about mana. IMO might is worth it if you’re staying very hydrated

Another point I missed was for prot you should definitely pick up shield spec, thanks for the corrections!
ofu eru Thank you! I usually pick up redoubt for anytime I may need to switch over to a shield, like if I have multiple people attacking me. I think the talent points are super strong even just for those moments! You can definitely place them elsewhere if you don’t want to bother with it! :)
TopperNL 2h for sure, 2h weapons take fewer hit % while 1h take more. Not only that but 2h typically will be dealing more damage. But if you are in a situation where you got a very nice 1h and your 2h is lacking then just roll with the 1h until you replace it!

Anticipation is very bad for leveling, rather take imp shield spec, or more Toughness, also imp 1 handed is pretty useless, rather get Guardians favor, or some more useful stuff. Also you never choose Spiritual Focus as prot. it can decide a battle.
How does spiritual focus make or break a battle? Not arguing, genuinely curious as to why that would be? Not too savvy with paladins and I thought maybe if I spec 2 into that and 3 into improved SoR, I could make up for the lost damage with throwing a seal of crusader up and judging first off with it to sort of give me that extra edge of damage I was missing. Been trying it out lately, and doesn’t feel slower than ret at all. Been doing int+sta and spell+heal gear. With a fast weapon it scales well with holy dmg procs.

Too many people are obsessed with meta gameplay and I understand the sentiment but it just makes it tough to find a solid group that is chill about a pally tanking when most prefer a warrior or even a Druid in some instances. Does kinda AoE Level really works with Prot around 40? I'm at 43 now and think about switching... as I still sometimes tank and Ret does not do the speediest solo stuff

Can anyone confirm is spamming the sit key will give 100% chance of getting crit striked? I kind of want to Respec to a reckoning build but I want to confirm that this is the way to go in classic. I want to do big dps in dungeons and level fast.
Get a weapon swing timer that shows the enemy swing timer. Sit, then stand just before the enemy swing timer is full. If you get the timing right you actually get 2 white hits (1 for reckoning and another for reseting your swing timer). Im killing green mobs in less than 5 seconds with high top end damage slow weapons (stoneslayer from uldaman) and yellow/orange mobs for sub 10 sec kills. It is mana efficient (1 holy light to heal before killing the next mob) rather than seal/judging everytime. The key is the timing because it is partially based on your internet connection. You won't be proccing reckoning all the time. I can manage 60-70% most of the time though. See the rextroy reckoning video for more information.
I play a little different from you guys. I like being able to swap back and forth between specs. But this is vanilla. So how do I heal (good), but still dps when needed? classic.wowhead.com/talent-calc/paladin/05503110521251--0523005122 31/0/20 is my build. I start off in the ret tree, go down to seal of command, conviction, eye for an eye is optional (I'm on a pvp server). I go full holy the rest of the way. I can sword and board heal when I heal dungeons, or throw on a two hander, and go ham. I'm definitely doing less damage than full ret, but when you are lvl 46 with a 4k mana pool using wisdom/judgement of wisdom with seal of command. I can usually out dps other ret paladins because I don't go oom as fast as they do. Just throwing my two cents out there.
should have mentioned when you say damage will be lower in holy spec and non ret spec that damage is not that lower i changed to sword and board holy for the fun of it and my killing time compared to ret was only 3-5 seconds lower so yeah
All of your talent spec suggestions are awful. Want the best leveling spec? 11 Ret for SoCom (Benediction and Deflection) 11 Holy for Consecration (Strength and the Concentration Aura talent) Pursuit of Justice 2 in Critical Strike 2 in Imp Ret Aura That's it. That's all you need for the best leveling spec. After that I would suggest going Prot (Redoubt, Precision, Imp BoP, Imp Righteous Fury) if you want to tank some more or finishing Ret 5/5 Vengeance. Ignore Repentance for PvE content.

Reduced cooldown on Judgment does very little outside of boss fights in dungeons because most trash pulls and quest mobs die in 2-3 judgment rotations meaning you won't get extra casts of it almost ever. Defoection is GREAT because it doubles your party chance and parrying gives you party haste. Imp Concentration Aura is a godsend because it gives your heals 100% resistance to knockback meaning you can hit it in a tough fight and heal without worry. Imp Ret Aura is great because it puts out way more damage than Sanctity will while questing and makes it easier to tank for 5man groups because the big increase in holy damage. Divine Intellect is less useful because while leveling it's unlikely that you will have large amounts of Int unless you're leveling Holy. Imp BoP might be the best talent in all three trees for group utility. It acts as a life saver and a psuedo taunt. It's unwise to rush Holy Shield if you're going for an AoE build because the damage is negligible and Consecration will put higher numbers at equivalent mana costs. Also, while the 30% block is nice, redoubt will proc a LOT when you're AoE grinding so it loses a lot of value because of that. This is obviously for leveling. Specs change at 6p once you get in to the raid scene. Got two 60 Paladins in a raid guild, one Prot and one Ret/Holy.
Dwarf paladin is not necessary at all. even if they have stoneform.. It's more useful for rogues or hunters.. not for paladins. Paladins already have clean ability. While human paladin has stealth detections and more dmg with mace and swords... and spirit increase.. is way more useful.. Dwarf paladin is helpful in pve. Can't agree anything with this review no sorry
henkarars if you are stuck in a blind you can’t use cleanse. Weapon specializes in pvp is equivalent to 0.2% hit or so, if you think that’s worth it for pvp then awesome! Good luck out there!

You should always go 5/5 benediction and always have wisdom up. Using BoM is inefficient and will slow you down. Don't put your points in there.

I would also go with spiritual focus instead of Divine intelect, you dont really have that much intelect when lvling and SF can really save lives.

2H mace. for ret pally your seals want slower weapons. righteous hits harder and crusader will increase weapon speed!

@@peeko_luxx2873 Improved SoR doesnt do a lot, since it only buffs the base dmg of SoR. Spiritual Focus will allow you to heal without pushback

you use holy shield and light consecration in combo iwth seal of wisdom
solo leveling as holy is doable, it's hard when up against self healing mobs but other than that it's actually not all that bad

Yeah but dwarf, along with gnomes, are the master races!!
There are tons of scenarios where stoneform is a big plus, if I rolled a paladin it would 100% be dwarf.

I mean c'mon seeks some interaction with your audience or show that you have the x-factor. I think that "just live talking" what you are saying in the video is more reliable. I mean I just want to see you talking and gaming at the same time. Or that it is not some recorded voice. Could you do that? Like talk and see you talking in a video and then explain the people and show the people what you are talking? Do you understand me now ?
