- After months of fires, I finally head back into the bush for an overnight camp and got stuck in a thunderstorm, but man it felt good to be back. I scope out a new area and set up a hammock and tarp shelter using my new Alton Goods 3x3m tarp and hammock. I also show off my new bushcraft knife from Kor Knife and Tool.
I hope you all enjoy!

As an Aussie who has lived overseas for 15 years now, seeing your videos always makes me think it might be time to come home. Great location you had there. Thanks for sharing.
Me too!
I grew up in Sydney from 71 to 91 & came back to visit old blighty for what was meant to be 6 weeks, but alas I'm still here 30 yrs later in the UK & am very home sick 😢
We often forget that everything amazing is very close, you just need to take a step! In nature, you feel life is real and you find peace in yourself. All problems seem very distant at this moment, and time seems to freeze!
The cinematography on this video is incredible, you should be well chuffed with it.
Thomas Hollyer what about the music? 🤟🏼
Kurt Klein right?!?
Jurassic Park...Australia looks like a holdover from a different age. Otherworldly, even. 👍👍
Oldest continent on earth
Anyone know if the 'grass tree' Is the same breed as what some call the black boy? Or is that racist like everything else these days?
@@benhowell5790 Na not racist I'm sure, jeez who knows nowdays ? Was called black boy because in the distance it looked like an Aboriginal standing with his spear ( i'm probably wrong. that's what my grandmother told me 50 years ago)
Some places are pretty special over here, Hermit620. I think you'd love it.
Beautifully filmed... love our Aussie Outback and you are a great ambassador, Scotty! Love the hammock too!
I've wanted to go to Australia my whole life (I'm 52 now). Such an alien landscape to me. Beautiful! Your channel was in my recommended list, this was my first watch. Great video and editing. Greetings from Tennessee, USA!
52 half way. Better make it happen mate.
I live in NSW Australia. Come on over and enjoy it mate
@@dangerdan4x468 I would LOVE to. No money, no time. I know I'd enjoy it.
Hey mate, good to see you back at it!
When I go out, once I find my spot I stop and sit on my pack for 20 minutes or so. That way you get the feel of the spot. It’s all well at good for it to look good and fit what you need but you don’t know what that spot has in store for you until you sit quietly for a while (if you have the light of course). The bush forgets your there after a while and comes out of it’s hiding spot. It might have save you some effort in the future.
great wildlife slow panning. people don't always do it right, you do though.
Nice hammock shelter, bro
"Hey, you know what would make that slow close-up shot of flowers even better?"
"Nah, what?"
"EDM, but edit it in loud."
Mother Nature, she taketh away.. but gives back a fresh start to a brand new day... stunning..
Great! Another video from the best bushcraft guy on RUclips.
Wow that place is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing
Marg... Marg.... the rains are here. ;) Gotta love being affected by bushfires then floods.Everytime I drive through Buxton, Tahmoor, Balmoral, Bargo, Yanderra and Colo Vale (Wollondilly/Southern Highlands). I once saw beautiful towns and villages, then I saw a blackened landscape, now I see how beautiful a bushfire actually cleanses the land and the bush is regenerated. I am truly humbly honoured to live in this beautiful country we call and share Australia.
I heard the local aboriginal word for winter in my area was Kudlila which comes from the word Kudlinthi - to wash the earth. After seeing the first green shoots at cudlee creek, this really struck me as super true.
got to say you outdone yourself with your musical score for this one scotty !
Biltong is the best! Great video mate! Big fan from South Africa
What a beautiful Ghost Gum in the beginning shots.
Gawd i so miss being in that amazing country!
Incredible video mate. You really did our Aussie landscape justice after this video, especially with all of the fires we've had. You showed natures strength very well. The sunset through the rain was award winning B-roll. Really enjoyed this video. Thanks mate.
Thanks a lot mate!
Bwahahaha! The Bull ant bit was funny. I learned many years ago to check for meat ant and Bull ant nest and holes. Those Bull ants are nasty buggers. Up in Far North Queensland, you have to check for Green Tree Ants. They live in trees and will react violently to anything that disturbs their territory.
You were missed! Great to hear the rains came and the fires are done. We care! 😙🇨🇦
Awesome video Scotty!! Love the addition of the music as well, your filming is becoming an inspiration!!
What a beautiful piece of bush....thanks mate!
Awesome mate, great video. Keen for the grass tree video 👍👍
Unbelievably beautiful country.
Quite enjoy the 'artist' filming of the landscape. Keep the vids coming. Thx
18:29 I actually frothed over that tarp B Roll. Really enjoyed this video!
Dam Scotty - your videos are getting slick mate! Awesome stuff! Really glad that spot hasn't burnt, so good to see some green and even better to see some water flowing in the creek. Can't wait to get out there soon!
Beautiful imagery Scotty. Your storytelling just keeps getting better and better!
Another magical video. You really are unique. No other channel in Australia offers your kind of content, as far as I can see. Simply superb. - Kevin
Love your work Mate, another fantastic video. Great to see the music make a comback at the end too.
Another great d Scotty. The quality keeps getting better. You are clearly a forest dweller amd need to recharge in nature. Your love of the bush is patent as is your knowledge. I like that you showcase our wonderful busnhland to the world. Good on you mate!
Great to see you out and about bruh. Wonderful new knife and pantry. Thanks for that.
Good to see you found a spot that didn't get fried by the fires
Wow, what can I say! Your video is awesome! I think the music, slow motion and general production of this video is the best one you've produced so far! Congratulations on a job well done! Not sure you can top this one but can't wait to see what's next! As always thanks for all the hard work you do taking us on your adventures in the outback!
Rick from Virginia
Thank you from the UK. Subscribed.
Always a solid soundtrack. Keep it up mate.
Very interesting Hammock, your video is very inspiring. Greetings from Indonesia
Pretty nice aye.
On a serious note, recognition to you discussing and the consideration showed to lighting a fire in light of recent events.
Something to explore for future trips is bio mass stoves as a substitute for camp fire entertainment. A mini contained version of a naked fire and without floating embers because of the secondary combustion.
Small bio mass stoves are probably a bit of a tease, so flat pack large ones are something to consider.
Wow, beautiful country.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. Beautiful bushland and super nice film/editing. Keep em’ coming, man!
Good stuff.
It’s good practice though to protect soft barked trees like the one you anchored off. Even just some 1” webbing wrapped around a couple times before going to your usual cord is much better than the thin cord that will leave a very prominent mark after you are gone.
One alternative when using paracord is lining the anchor area with many vertical sticks to disperse the pressure.
great video Scotty - music, views from camera, all perfect thanks for sharing. Heres hoping all your spots were not destroyed in the fires mate. look forward to the next adventure
Wow.. all the vegetation back to its place! Good to see them after that horrific fire.
What a pleasure to watch! Well filmed, well edited, great soundtrack- but most importantly the love of Nature that comes across. Hope your channel gets the growth it deserves. Best wishes
Great stuff. I don't know about anyone else, but I like to see a little footage of night time in the sleeping bag. Even just a minute or two before lights out. Being alone in the bush at night is atmospheric.
Yeah, agreed.
Bangin' video bro! You never cease to amaze with you're production quality and artistic eye. Thanks for taking us along on another adventure!
Congrats on the 50k subs bro.... Another awesome vid as always. Cheers M8 😎
Good to see you back Scotty. Your vids are very informative but they are getting more and more professional and easier to watch. The camera work along with the music is wonderful. Loving this work from England.
Magical. Priceless. Heaven on earth.
Wow. Your production value is kicking up. Absolutely nailed it. 💪💪💪. That hammock location was incredible.
Beautiful! Fantastic with the rain. Glad you could get out again to experience it.
Next time I visit Aussiland I would love to have some time for a bush tour. This time I found a view hours just with my hammock in a park in MEL ;)
Waiting for the summer in GER ;)
No worries mate !
Excellent movie!
Great to see you back out in the Bush Scott, thanks for bringing us along. Nice to see some sunshine as we've had weeks of storms in the UK, the vans been rocking about like crazy in the wind and the ground is saturated.
Great to have you back Scotty. Another great location and very well filmed. Thanks mate.
Amazing shots you got there, nice video 👌
Hey mate, your vid production has improved so much so quick, but still has a really natural feel, it’s a real credit to you. I appreciate how long solo setups take and your editing and sound is excellent to. Keep up the good work, happy trails.
Another great adventure. I really enjoy seeing the beautiful scenery and vistas in your parks. Very different from area I’m used to in Pennsylvania, USA. I also learn a great deal about your flora. You are very knowledgeable and that increases the value of your videos. Thanks a million.
rains good, the lightning is not as dangerous once it starts raining
Excellent video. I cant help but think about all the useful plants you mention when 4x4 touring. Great stuff and cant wait for the next video!
The Mr. Good thing you moved to higher ground, flash flooding can be bruta.
As for bag on the ground, best to use 550 or 750 cord with a caribiner and hand . ur bag.
I was was surprised your didn't have any trekking/ hiking poles.
Grew up in QLD "born 76" but now live in SA...... I don't miss the humidity at all but I do miss the thunderstorms. Just doesn't happen down here sadly...... SA people freak out at the slightest rumble in the sky haha. I miss sitting there watching a lightning storm, just don't miss it being 40c n covered in sweat whilst ya do.
As always Scotty, you do an awesome job of showcasing the Aussie Bush. I just did my first adventure but had to cut it short due to safety reasons. You and Erik Off Track and a couple of overseas guys have been such an inspiration to me and I always look forward to your videos. I'm so glad you managed to get out again and glad you found somewhere not blackened by the recent fires.
Thanks again, I really appreciate the amount of time you put into filming/editing/producing these videos. Some folk don't realise how much time it takes to do it all. 😀
Great video mate thanks for taking us along with you
The Storm: "We're gonna hammer this ..."
*Lotta heat emanates from another area*
Also The Storm: "Alright this sector can wait. DIVERT & COOL THAT LAND DOWN."
Hello Scotty! I’ve just discovered your channel. Absolutely stunning videos. You’re a great bushman, with amazing camera skills too! Looking forward to watching your back catalogue. 😎🤙🏼🇦🇺
Another excellent video, cheers mate!
Happy, really happy to see your beautiful country and see you out again. II just wish we could have seen more of that Thunderstorm. Storms, rain are the best parts of any video if there is any to be seen. And I kid you not, you DO KNOW how to edit your videos. OMG. Some of best editing that I have seen. Just mind blowing. Show more more. I want to see more. I will never see it in person. The music you choose just sets it off. Until next time. thanks.
The opening song was perfect. Another great video!
Good to see you back in the bush again Scotty! braver man than me mate being on that ridge top in a thunderstorm
Loverly to see your 1st camping video for a new year - great spot
Another ripper video Scotty. That area was absolutely stunning.
Always great videos, but your production on this seems especially good. Soooo happy that you're able to get back out! Keep up the great work! P.S. My folks are coming out for 4 weeks to Australia and New Zealand for my dad's 70th birthday from the states. Super jealous!
Love the hammocks, there perfect for nature reserves.
Cracking video Scotty good to see you back out so many amazing places over there good to see that the fire's have started to calm down thanks for sharing atvb jimmy from England 😎😎
Fantastic stuff once again Scotty. That knife set looks awesome. Hope you were able to use some or most of you bush skills that you learned from Gordon.
Great video mate. Was in my recommended so you're doing something right with the algorithm.
Hey Cod thanks to being in lockdown I’ve caught up to real time loving your work looking forward to getting back out in the bush myself if you’re ever up in Broome don’t hesitate to give us a call and we can head out bush🤠👍🇦🇺
Scotty you've done it again. Top notch vid mate. Really relaxing to watch and i like the bushcraft tidbits too.
I like quite tv. Things can be best learnt by just watching. Setting the hammock and hutchie, water purification and packing your bergen here taght in that way. Nice work.
Another great video Scotty! "You and mother nature doing her thing" quote of the day mate. Cinematography is stunning 👌
Good video and beautiful place
Scotty you do a really beaut job on editing your videos mate. Total enjoyment to watch several times as is the situation with all your videos. Yes everyone is entitlement to their opinions but why in the bloody hell would anyone want to give a thumbsdown to such quality, unbasised, naturally educational with no foul langauge or profane presentations such as yours mate. Keep up good work. This is coming to you from Phnom Penh. All the best, cheers mate.
Love that slow mo cinematography, nice scotty
I love the Aussie late arvo glow after a shower.
The colour of those gums are gorgeous! Loved it.
Glad to see ya out and about again! Pretty awesome knife you got too. Good Vid Scotty. Enjoyed!
Its quite relaxing to see you camping 👍🏼🙏🏼
Namastey from India 🙏🏼
You should hike in to some of the burnt areas. It is an amazing experience. Those grass trees are sprouting right through the black areas.
Watched a couple of your videos like your work going back to the start catch you when I’ve caught up good work mate🤠🇦🇺👍
Lol I never go camping without my herbs, nice spot mate
Crazy to see most of the plants/trees growing in Scotty land, grow here in South Africa, but we doing our best to get rid of them.
Nothing like a full on thunderstorm to put things into perspective. Awesome vid mate, reinforced just how bad I need to get back out there. Might have to take a trip south across the border into cockroach country to get a fix. Thanks....
"Finally found piece of bush that hasn't burned" *The tree behind you* "Am I a joke to you??"
miss the old place
such a sick video!
new subscriber here man your stuff is good content, keep it up
So relieved to hear the fires have died. What a horror.
Such a well edited and put together video mate. Loved the shots you had and looked like a good spot.
Great video as usual. Was looking forward to the cooking part with the alcohol stove to see how you go about it. Hope you drag the stove out in an upcoming video. Cheers Scotty
Just great - loved the soundtrack, and respect your call not to light a fire, that says a lot about you. New sub
Gude✌🏼
Always a great experience to watch you and your adventures. Thanks a lot for this !
Best regards Thom 🤠
