Bro I’m Australian n never herd of the Teskey Brothers . Thing is 10 years ago my closest brother pass in my arms n it destroyed me. So I have bin in depression for a decade. Three days ago my niece rang me n said uncle I bought some tickets to the Teskey Brothers n that I was coming weather I like it or not. Be honest was the best night in my life period . This band is unreal n his voice goes strait to your heart man. Finally I feel human again Man. I’m gonna pick my guitar up again which I have haven’t for over a decade. If you ever get a chance to c them don’t miss it mate they r the best. Real soul music period❤️🙏👍
Otis Redding! thats it! I knew it sounded familiar. My Daughter, all of 25, loves the blues and this song. I take the blame. I raised them all to love music in about all its forms. Old blues, rock, pop, funk, r and b. Put our faith in music and screw what the politicians and haters want us to think.
He has a sensational voice and so much feeling in it. The instrumental is great too! His whole body resonates and so many people feel addressed by the message. May God bless you all.
This moved me in a way I can’t fully express. Tortured, filled with loss and pain and unrequited love and longing. There’s this pained hope and hopelessness all together; I think that’s why it’s so moving because it’s life that’s what it’s like when love fails this pleading for hope. Yes, I am mediately thought sitting on the dock. Try little tenderness like all the stuff i heard as a little kid and still listen. He sang with lifetime of built up pain
I have been listening to them daily since l discovered them 6 months ago. Just an amazing voice, takes me back to my teenage days listening non stop to Otis, Marvin, Ray Charles, Al Green. I finally got tickets for Dublin in June. I was online daily for weeks and finally got through. I agree he is just like Otis. The blues in his voice is awesome too. I have been sending their songs to my friends they love him too. Only my opinion but they are sooo bloody awesome.
The first time I saw someone reacting to "Rain" about 3yrs. ago, I was completely shocked. I was taken back to the soul of Otis Redding. Otis life was cut short, and sometime I think his spirit is in Josh Teskey making up for lost time. Josh definitely has the soul of Otis, but he doesn't talk the way he sing. He has an Australian accent. I have 3 cd's by the Teskey Brothers, and not disappointed.
I think we get get an emotional reaction, not bc of the pure artistry, but bc our souls crave this type of music we grew up listening to. I am 44, but my dad raised me on Otis and every genre of music there is. Instantly brought me back to my dad curling my hair and singing along with the greats. I miss this artistry in todays music.
These boys have so many great songs, it's hard to pick a favourite, "Pain and Misery" & "Crying Shame" are up there for me. "Hold Me" live at the forum is a definite must watch too
Our favorite band EVER. Sam plays guitar. His brother. And I think Sam writes most of the songs. Josh is the lead singer. You should see them live. The voice of our generation. I can’t listen to them without crying. 😭💜
They do a lot of their recording on old analog equipment and they really get that Motown sound that just brings you back to the glory days of Soul and R & B.
Wow!! Instantly I’m transported to a place I can so relate to… having lost my husband of 38 years to cancer.. coming up on 5 years… this song just pulls me in. My daughter in law said.. mom, have you heard this song? In a weird way, because it’s so relatable, I’m so encouraged… I just keep playing it!! It fills me with hope.. can’t get enough of it.. Thank you for dissecting this song.. I think we all didn’t expect this sound coming out of him.. what a gift.. Thanks for sharing your gift!! I’m telling all my friends!!! We need more!!
I don’t care how many times I listen to him sing this , I always get goose bumps and chills. I recently tripped across the Tesky Brothers, probably because this is the kind of music I Love, and I’m in Love, Love, Love. Hold Me does the same thing. 😊
Saw them two weeks ago at the Apollo London .. fantastic night, fabulous band .. blown away. My daughter couldn't stop talking about the show on tube home..
I had the same reaction, tears in my eyes, amazing, brilliant. My daughter sended me a tiktok of this song....I had to find them at you tube. When they come to the Netherlands or western Germany, I have to go to the show.👌🏻
A great Aussie band from near Melbourne in the state of Victoria, I have a number of their CDs. My favourite song is, "Man OF The Universe". I just have to dance to it because it makes me sooo happy!
When I first heard him I was in my truck and had this cranked and was like “OHHH SHIT !!! Yesssssssss ! “ that’s soul. It made me almost cry He was crying from the soul with this one. It’s funny all the reaction videos I’ve seen and they have all been like “what oh shit ! “ I love it !!! I love the support these guys are getting
They are this good live too, it's something special. Proud to call them Australian. Yes, they do a version of (sittin on ) Dock of the Bay that is pue Otis. Every song is a winner whether it is a cover or original.
Dude! I said the same thing the first time I heard him.... this man sounds like Otis Redding! It is giving me dock of the bay vibes. Spot on, the man has a voice that takes me back to the good old Motown days, with a little hint of blues.
The Teskey Brothers are an Australian blues rock band from Melbourne, named after the two brothers who formed the group in 2008: Josh Teskey and Sam Teskey
This is my favorite reaction of yours! It hit me that way too! Had to laugh whenn you said 'Oh, she's gonna let you hold her'.....He has 8 children! 😁😍
first video i have ever seen of yours & HADDDD TO stop & watch this one becuz your reaction was literally MY reaction when i first heard this! absolute LOVE the teskey brothers becuz that voice & band just… ugh it’s unexplainable, it’s just so beautiful 😭😭
Does have the Otis Redding sound.....love love this man.....I've listened to him now about 20 times...and still tear up. I posted him days ago on my fb page and listen twice a day or more.
I just found this song a few weeks ago, this live iteration is amazing. This guys voice is so powerful and soulful, can't stop listening to it! If you like voices like his you should check out "Brothers Moving", they have some originals but mostly are buskers and cover classic songs. There is a live video of them doing a street performance where they do 'Minnie the Moocher', the one guy's voice is similar to this fellows. Absolutely mesmerizing.
You can’t go wrong with any of their songs! Take a listen to the Teskey brothers featuring Emma Donovan, they are covering a song by the late Archie Roach called Get back to the Land. It’s beautiful
Thanks for the love! - Josh and Sam Teskey
My pleasure completely
You guys are amazing man
This song is on repeat for the next 10 years boys. Good on you. Cheers
Legit the best band ever ❤
Just found them completely on accident from a YT clip 2 days ago. Hooked
Someone said “when Thor found the soul stone”😂
Great one
😂😂😂😂
Lmao
Highly underrated comment 🎉 👍🏽
😅 that's a good one mate
Otis Redding fans have been waiting for an artist/group like this for so damn long.
Yeah, it wasn't Bolton that did it, that was actually embarrassing. This is far more legit tribute to Otis' voice
ugh. you said it best,
I was thinking the same thing.
Absolutely. I love me some Otis
You got that right. Too damn long. Glad it’s back. I miss Otis and this cat nails that sound.
The rumor is that if he and Chris Stapleton got on a track together, the world would explode
Not before impregnating women across the globe 😂
Or Teddy Swims!
tyler childers or colter would break the internet
Should also check out Lamont Landers too
All of our women would be pregnant, instantly.
Otis is what I claim as musical perfection. You can add the Teskey Brothers to that list! I was blown away! What a gift they gave us.
I agree it's Otis but he got some Sam Cooke going on. By the way that horn section is off the chain.
Bro I’m Australian n never herd of the Teskey Brothers . Thing is 10 years ago my closest brother pass in my arms n it destroyed me. So I have bin in depression for a decade. That's beautiful man. Ye got me in the feels there fuck. I feel your pain. Proud of you brother. Keep fighting the good fight.
Australian? They actually cover INXS. Our favorite band ever. Teskey brothers that is.
Keep moving forward brother
Feel you man ❤
I was born in OZ and moved away after decades there. First I am hearing of them too. Going to find their channel and subscribe. So good.
They are incredible live. These Aussie's ain't playin. They coming correct. Just proof Soul isn't a color, it's a feeling.
Amen
You know what's crazy! He sounds just like this in person 🤯 very fortunate to have seen them live - just amazing👏 Whole catalogue is 🔥
Absolutely the most amazing live performers I have ever seen !
The singer is Josh Tesky & his brother is Sam Teskey, he plays the guitar. They are from Australia
His style is somewhat reminiscent of Ray Lamontange. I totally misspelled it, I know.
Such romantic soul.
Def can hear that. ❤ Beautiful stuff
I’d say Otis Redding. I’ve never heard of Ray for what it’s worth 🤷♂️
Dudes voice goes straight to your soul.
Otis with a pinch of sam cooke perfection
My thoughts exactly.❤
Yussss!! Exactly what I'm hearing too!! 🥰🥰
Even better
Otis Redding! thats it! I knew it sounded familiar. My Daughter, all of 25, loves the blues and this song. I take the blame. I raised them all to love music in about all its forms. Old blues, rock, pop, funk, r and b. Put our faith in music and screw what the politicians and haters want us to think.
Sounds so much like Otis! Proper 'I've been loving you too long' vibes. Great voice.
This song just snatches your soul and squeezes it dry. Seriously, they are amazing.
that man has the kind of voice you don't care what he's singing about you just want to hear him sing it
They are 2 brothers who collaborated to compose this song. Between the musicians that accompanies his mournful voice is PERFECT HARMONY.
The Teskey Brothers - Hold Me (Live At The Forum) - saw them do this last November in Canberra supporting Crowded House.
They are awesome,!!!
So sad not to be able to see the original band members bass and drummer any more. So pivotal to their early sound here and "Hold Me".😢
Making Teskey fans in my Lyft ride nightly
I heard about 8 seconds of this song and had to find it. This song is beautiful. Thank you.
Magnificent music from this Australian group, you can’t go wrong with any of their stuff.
I thought it was Otis the first time I heard him. It’s amazing and beautiful
They had me crying the first time I heard it! That voice! So much soul!
My introduction to The Teskey Bros was Pain and Misery on my Robert Cray Blues station. I definitely thought I was hearing Otis Redding.
I had tears immediately and I felt this down my spine. Stunning
He has a sensational voice and so much feeling in it. The instrumental is great too! His whole body resonates and so many people feel addressed by the message. May God bless you all.
Hold me - Live at the Forum Melbourne - just amazing stuff,
This moved me in a way I can’t fully express. Tortured, filled with loss and pain and unrequited love and longing. Wow! Thank you for putting my souls thoughts/reaction into words! I couldn’t have described it this well and certainly not any better! ❤
So well said thank you for taking the time.
Found them on RUclips. I luv their music. Play in my office everyday. Fabulous.
Everyone needs more Aussie music in their life. These guys are from my home town.
Warrandyte stand up. 🙌
@@firecrakka
I’m close to Warrandyte , but for some strange reason I definitely can’t sing like that lol 🥴
You are so very lucky i have family there but i wish it was Teskey Bros that were coming to visit us in England
You should be proud, they're amazing 💯💯💯💯
I have been listening to them daily since l discovered them 6 months ago.

Only my opinion but they are sooo bloody awesome.
Hands down.. this is the BEST type of music to hear, listen to AND FEEL!!
This is what I call an old soul. Beautiful & amazing.
The first time I saw someone reacting to "Rain" about 3yrs. ago, I was completely shocked. I was taken back to the soul of Otis Redding. That accent is Australian because he IS Australian.
Gotta love our Aussie Teskey Brothers...bloody brilliant voice hes got
His voice can unite us all! Good Lord!
When you hear this you know it's a voice you'll be listening to the rest of your life......special 👌🏻
Like Big O, this gets right to your soul
I think we get get an emotional reaction, not bc of the pure artistry, but bc our souls crave this type of music we grew up listening to. Another great Aussie musician/singer

Goosebumps, chills, and tears 😢
This is sooooooooooooo DAMN GOOD!!! Chills....
They do a lot of their recording on old analog equipment and they really get that Motown sound that just brings you back to the glory days of Soul and R & B.
Perhaps more Atlantic/Muscle Shoals than Motown 🤷♂️
Saw him teasing today about a collab with Teddy Swims. That would be mind blowing. Seeing the Teskys in Dec. So excited! Awesome reaction ❤
Wow!! Instantly I’m transported to a place I can so relate to… having lost my husband of 38 years to cancer.. coming up on 5 years… this song just pulls me in. Love it!! Sounds like Otis meets the Black crowes!! Just heartwrenching soul!!
That mic hanging in front of him is catching every nuance of his voice and revealing its True Tone.
I've been going crazy for these brothers for a couple of years deep in the blood of SOUL thank you, T. brothers we've been needing this
They are an amazing band. ❤️his voice. I wish they had more recognition worldwide.
I don’t care how many times I listen to him sing this , I always get goose bumps and chills. I recently tripped across the Tesky Brothers, probably because this is the kind of music I Love, and I’m in Love, Love, Love. Hold Me does the same thing. 😊

Absolutely beautiful song and it makes you tear up. Wow he is so awesome.
In one word, if I were to describe your reaction, it is GIDDY. Loved it!
So much little Richard in the way he drags the word rain, too.
I’ve been listening to the Teskey Brothers for years now. Amazing sound! ❤
just love the voice and deep soul...reminds me of old school: Otis, Solomon Burke---so many old school singers who just make you cry when they sing...
El sentimiento ..la manera en que cuenta ...es maravilloso 😮 raspy voice amazing
Teskey bros been around forever too! Awesome people are showing them so much love these days. Real music will survive.
This is the kind of shit to bring everybody together in this world. Soul is a universal language everybody understands.
I cry every single time I hear him sing ❤
Does have the Otis Redding sound.....love love this man.....I've listened to him now about 20 times...and still tear up. I posted him days ago on my fb page and listen twice a day or more.

The permanent, progressively intensifying stank face that every reactor has to this song is just perfection
Perfect reaction. Great commentary and letting the song play as well. Great job.
You can’t go wrong with any of their songs! Take a listen to the Teskey brothers featuring Emma Donovan, they are covering a song by the late Archie Roach called Get back to the Land. It’s beautiful
Just watched these guys live at the Black Barn Vineyard, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand - January 24th 2025. They were phenomenal!!
I discovered these guys just before lockdown and their music got me through lock down for sure love them big time!! ❤️ ❤❤
